Always look on...
There's a new Lunargyros page up! Check it here.

Well, I'm doing better than I was yesterday, so that's nice. I've got some eggs that are likely to hatch, I'm just very unsure of what they'll hatch into. Here's hoping for chickens.

But in more bleh news, I have to get up before 5:00 tomorrow morning to take parents to the airport, since they'll be gone for almost a week. Blaaaah getting up at Terrible O'Clock. I hope I survive. 8|

The Life of Brian
Well, today's movie was going to be Wicker Man, but YouTube failed on me and I couldn't watch most of the parts. So I gave up on that one and decided to pick a different one on the list: in this case, The Life of Brian.

This is only the third Monty Python movie I've seen, and as usual, it was full of lawls. XD I think Holy Grail is still my favorite one, probably because it was the first I saw, but this one was great too. For one thing, this one had an actual coherent story whereas Holy Grail is just AND THEN THIS WEIRD THING HAPPENED. Also, I think Life of Brian could probably have the closest thing resembling Life Lessons, although that's still firmly behind a thick layer of humor. And I love just how British everything is, including a snappy musical number during crucifixtion. XD

Also, why aliens? Who knows!

Speaking of such, I suddenly seem to be reading/talking lots about religion lately. I'm tempted to make a post on it, but I dunno if I should. (Or what on, anyway.)

Drawing: LG, color versions of some of this long commission, and may start on a fanart

Writing: Wrote third treatment, may have to revise it, but at least it's done

Did you not know? Life of Brian and Wicker Man are actually the same movie. Shhhh...

Yeah, LoB definitely had the most coherent storyline (and an actual not-cop-out ending!). It has some interesting takes on religion, too. I think I saw it and Saved! in close proximity to each other, which was an interesting experience. I would definitely be interested to hear what you have to say on religion, whether it's here or IRL. It is a complex topic for sure.

That would be...very very odd.

Yeah, I didn't agree with all of their takes on it, but there were some things I was definitely laughing at and recognizing as something humans definitely do. (I actually think it had more to say about politics than religion, considering the PEOPLE'S FRONT OF JUDEA and the JUDEAN PEOPLE'S FRONT and all. XD)

Yeah, just random stuff...I have come up with an extended metaphor to reconcile my belief in a creative God with the obvious evidence of evolution, if nothing else.

Your point about politics is well-taken. It's been a while since I've seen the movie, so I forgot about all that. Anyway, the divisions between politics and religion are not as clear as a lot of people think...many things that are true for one are just as true for the other (the use of power, the demonization of those who disagree, the tendency to want to create lots of little niches, etc.).

Hmm, all good points. :O Which is a shame, both would be better off if they were more separate from each other, but suppose at least with human organizations it can't be helped.
