Climbing the walls
Just a reminder: Applications for It's Just A Game are open! Get yours in sooooon! :Db

And in a similar vein of that, I have a birthday gift for awesome dude [livejournal.com profile] rebmakash:

In the theater )

I also ended up doing a fanart for Ghost Trick! I did say that I would! XD

Contains HUGE MAJOR SPOILERS for Ghost Trick )

Also, as stated on my dA, I have gone completely crazy and am going to try and redo the All Hearts fanart...only this time, adding all of the extra characters from games that have come out since then, and doing each character as a full-on painting rather than the tiny colored things I did last time. Which would mean painting somewhere in the neighborhood of 250 different characters.

On the one hand, it'll be great painting practice! On the other hand....ohgod. 8D;;;

BUT I shall try for it! My goal is to get it done by the time KH3 comes out, which will give me at least a couple of years to do it. And since I'm doing each character separately, I'll also post them as I do them, too!

Almost forgot waking-up drawings:

Under-covers drawings 149-152 )

Otherwise...stuff is going on that I dunno if I can/should talk about yet. Mostly because I dunno how it's going to turn out, and it's driving me into tons of anxiety thinking about it. So, maybe later. I'd rather focus on things I can control at the moment, or at least try to.

First year of marriage is always the most psychotic
It's mah birthday today, woot! ...And sadly, I am spending it alone, at work, trying desperately to fight off a cold. |D I REALLY cannot afford to get sick right now, because I've got awesome dudes coming over and Comic Con and Disneyland all coming up this week! So hopefully gallons of water and orange juice will be my savior...

Got to have a nice dinner with family on Friday, in which I got some awesome cupcakes and cool presents! :D In this case, Tarzan on DVD, Beauty and the Beast on Blu Ray, some monies and Twizzlers! And will hang out with friends on Tuesday for more birthdayness! Just really, really, REALLY want to be better by then, so...*urges white blood cells to fight harder* T_T

OH also, I think on Tuesday we're seeing the 8:10 showing of Harry Potter at the Agoura Hills Regency theater, FYI to friends!

Two new Lunargyros pages are up from Friday!

Episode 12 of Kia and I's Kingdom Hearts 2 LP is up for viewage!

Birthday plans and wish list
SO FOR BIRTHDAY THINGIES. Decided I want to do stuff on Tuesday the 19th! We will go out to see the final Harry Potter movie later in the evening and it shall be fun! The rest of the time we shall spend just hanging out about the house and being awesome, possibly with ordering pizza (or making it if I'm feeling ambitious enough, but probably ordering out for it.) Also, anyone who is driving down to Comic Con with me can stay the night at my place, since Comic Con is immediately the day after and it'll be easier to all leave from one location rather than having to meet up on Wednesday. We'll also figure out car stuff then. So YES! If you know me and have that Tuesday free and would like to come, then please come!

Also, since some dudes asked for it, here is my birthday wish list:
- Monies for Comic Con
- "Ghost Trick" for the DS
- Pokemon Black OR White for the DS
- New sketchbooks
- Any new drawing pens (especially brush pens)
- Any Disney movies or collections I don't own (Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Tarzan, Atlantis, etc.)
- Any MST3K boxsets I don't own (MST3K: The Movie, Gamera boxset, XVIII, etc.)
- Candies I like (Twizzlers, Swedish Fish, etc.)

This is also the same list I gave my parents, so, yeah. |D Rather short.

And for all others, here's episode eight of Kia and I's Let's Play KH2:

So little time
Nnnnnngh I'm in a totally distracted mood ATM since I'm trying to figure out how to do our group project for our internship. This is proving more difficult than originally thought (in part because of a somewhat unnecessary time limit, and lack of communication...)

Also in the process of trying to plan out everything that I need to do before/during Comic Con (WHICH IS SUPER FRIGGIN' SOON AAAAAAH) I am trying to decide what I want to do for my birthday! Unfortunately, the only days I can pretty much, uh, do anything at all are Monday night the 18th, or Tuesday night the 19th after [livejournal.com profile] bouncy_erbear arrives. SO, ANYONE WHO LIVES CLOSE TO ME AND WANTS TO COME, I HAS QUESTIONS:

- What day is best for you, the 18th or the 19th?
- I am considering either just a party at my house hanging out with good food and watching movies/ponies/whatever, or going out to go see Harry Potter since that will be coming out the previous Friday and I really wanna see it! Would you rather just come hang for something relaxing, or go out to the movies?

SPEAKING OF, EM AND RAE: We need to plan our Comic Con driving/packing/parking situations! Call or text me?

Okay, as per usual, I have Lunargyros and LP and art things for all...

First, two new pages in Lunargyros are up today!

Second, we've actually gotten up two new episodes of the KH2 LP! Since they're in smaller chunks, they're easier to watch, anyway:

And finally, some new waking-up drawings, plus a color version of an older one...

I've got the AMV bug itching at me really bad, yet again. Gah! Problem is, I just don't have the tools/footage necessary to do what I want, at least yet. 8( Does anyone out there know where I can obtain a copy of AfterEffects for mac (and if it's a torrent, with a crack that actually works? Or, alternatively, a trial version with guaranteed no watermarks?)

But for now, I have a birthday gift for [livejournal.com profile] corrielle!

It's about hot ice...
There's a new Lunargyros page up today; read it here.

I'm really interested by the poll results from yesterday...there was a lot more yes than I was expecting! This now makes me wonder if this is mainly a thing among fandom-oriented (or creatively-oriented) people, or if it's true with the human population in general. Because if it's the latter, that says some interesting things about how our brains function and how important fiction and stories really are to us...not just to help us understand the world, but also for our own personal health. If so many of us need some form of fiction in order to get to sleep, and sleep is such a vital part of human health and productivity, then this could mean that we need fiction to maintain everyday health. I suppose I'd need more data, but yeah, it's interesting to think about. :Oa

Also, I have a (slightly late) birthday present for [livejournal.com profile] betwixt_worlds! This was something I intended to draw for her awhile ago and kinda failed to, so hopefully it's okay now. XD HAPPY BIRTHDAY AGAIN

The Wrath of Con )

ALSO also, I need help from the flist. I'd been mulling over getting Corel Painter for awhile, but had never really gotten around to it. Except now I downloaded a copy (actually a trial version unless I can get this dang serial number to work) and tried it out some. And. Holy crap, how have I lived this long without Painter. The brush and blending options and everything are SOOO SHINY AND I NEED IT AAAAH. It feels like REAL PAINT and that's totally the feel I've been trying to get with Photoshop but never really achieving. SO. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of Painter for mac OSX 10.5 that will work properly, whether with a proper crack/serial number or otherwise? I will love you forever and/or probably draw you something, no lie. *___*

Day 22 - Favorite Pairing

NOT A SHOCKER to anyone that knows me even a bit, but my fav pairing is Sora/Kairi. XD They are full of sweetness and cuteness and plotty goodness, and I admit I tend to ship canon and closest to it when I'm in a fandom the strongest. Although I'd say I ship the Sora/Riku/Kairi OT3 on an equal level...they're the ones that really turned me on to the idea of OT3s. And when you actually see the three of them all together, you can totally feel that they belong that way.

First and foremost: HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to [livejournal.com profile] betwixt_worlds, [livejournal.com profile] chobit001 and [livejournal.com profile] deltashade! You dudes rawk!

Disneyland was quite fun yesterday! Despite heat and crowds (it was a Saturday on a three-day weekend, so yeah) we did plenty of rides, ate lunch at the ESPN Zone (which I've actually never been in before) and other funness! Checked out the elecTRONica event they were doing in DCA, which was bunches of dancers/techo music/awesome lights/MARTINIS. They were also showing nine minutes of the film...it was what they showed at Comic Con, so nothing new for me, but they also did these cool in-theater effects. They also had a Flynn's Arcade setup where you could go in and play a bunch of oldschool arcade gammes -Galaga, Centipede, Donkey Kong, Pac Man, Asteroids, etc.- for a quarter each. That was pretty awesome. XD Also finally saw World of Color from the front, since some awesome dudes were cool enough to trade us their tickets for the earlier show! And we just talked BBS and fandomy stuff all day, which is always good at D-Land. XD

Also, I should be taking my grandma really soon and then also going for Halloween, so lots of Disneyland this month... @_@

Day 19 - Least Favorite Boss Battle

LEECHGRAVE. GEEBUS, HATE THAT THING. Days has a bunch of Heartless bosses that are just a pain in the ass (Antlion, Infernal Machine, Ruler of the Sky) but Leechgrave is DEFINITELY THE WORST OF THE LOT. I had so much trouble killing that thing, no matter what I did. I sucked so bad at that boss battle that the game had to lower the difficulty for me. 8|

Day 20 - Favorite Boss Battle

This was tough, but I think I'm gonna say Dark Thorn...AKA the big Heartless that you fight in Beast's ballroom. That this is just so much fun to fight. XD I love tossing it around the room using the chandelier or leaping off the pillars to counterattack. It's not often you get to use your environment to your advantage in a boss battle, so it's fun to do it there.

Obligatory heading to con post
Well, aside from my car getting smashed up and all, it was a pretty good weekend! My brother was kind enough to lend me his car until we went and got a rental yesterday, so we were able to do everything we planned! This included Disneyland on Saturday (my birthday and Disneyland's birthday) with [livejournal.com profile] purapea, [livejournal.com profile] ggmoonycrisco, [livejournal.com profile] yamikonumber7 and [livejournal.com profile] universejuice! Yes it was crowded and hot, but we still managed to do everything that we set out to do. We rawked all over the place.

Sunday, I took GG and Pura out to Hollywood, where they were able to get their tourist on with the walk of the stars and the major theaters like the Kodak and the Chinese Mann. We also went and saw Toy Story 3 at the El Capitan (I cried...again!) and got delicious ice creams at the soda fountain. Very successful! I'm actually glad I decided to pony up for parking instead of having us walk all the way from Gnomon.

Also had birthday dinners with friends and family on Thursday, which was also very nice! I got some sweet stuff:
- Cash for the con (much appreciated)
- This really adorable Sora amigurumi from GG
- Delicious British candies from Pura
- A new sketchbook from the fam
- The MST3K boxset XVII, which I will watch with anyone, anytime 8D

AND NOW, today will be for a little grocery shopping and packing stuff for San Diego, with bonus Traditional Con Freakout Time. I don't have a laptop to take along, so you probably won't be hearing from me on the internets until I get back. I can't wait to see both old and new friends there!

Oh, and before I go: two new Lunargyros pages, and they're up here.

Awesome folk [livejournal.com profile] purapea and [livejournal.com profile] ggmoonycrisco are coming over, so we'll be romping about California and Disneyland and other fun things in the next few days! And then next week is Comic Con (AAAAAAAA) so we'll be away at that and I don't have computery things there.

Also I will be 26 in three days I am so old and wrinkly aaaaaaaaaaaaa

I really must be, because I feel like I've been fwapped with the tired stick. Pretty sure I'm getting enough sleep, so it's not about that. *flop*
Hey dudes, sorry I haven't been posting much lately. I've been working like crazy all weekend on this egg, and now that I've finished that I guess it's out of my hands. Time to play the waiting game again! I just really, really hope that a chicken hatches.

Holy crap, July is going to be IN-SAAAAAAAANE. A good kind of insane, but insane nonetheless. I've got to get ready for the madness that is Comic Con, which means another printing and organizing spree of portfolios and shopping trips and going through the programming schedule; awesometastic friends coming over to stay for awhile and related California-touring; a very long and involved commission project that I need to start sketching ideas for; birthday stuff and house cleaning and...*BRAIN ASPLODES*

Speaking of birthdays, since a couple've people have been asking, I was trying to think of stuff to ask for for my birthday. So, I came up with a (really short) wish list...

- Mostly I'd just really like some cash for the con. 8D That'll make me perfectly happy.
- I am in desperate need of some new KH keychains since my old ones have all but bitten the dust, so one of these little mascot keychains would be super cute.
- I am always up for MST3K I don't own yet.
- Otherwise, um...I like fic, I like art. Most dudes know what my fav pairings are; if not, just ask. |D

I am thinking of doing two things...one on my actual birthday-day at Disneyland, since so many cool people will be there then and all will be at D-Land anyway so it would be awesome to do stuff then! But I'd also like to see friends that I don't see enough, (Kel, Neko, Rae, Em, Alix, Beth, etc. I'm looking at YOU!) so would dudes be interested in doing something down here in Malibu, too? Please let me know! Wow that was really descriptive, wasn't it?

I am not your cheesesteak!
Yesterday was a pretty busy day! My mom's family came up for father's day, and we had a huge lunch with steak and roasted potatoes and all sorts of other goodness. This may be the last time that my grandparents come all the way up here, or at least my grandpa, so I'm glad they got the chance to.

After that I went up to [Unknown site tag]'s birthday party, which was awesome funtimes! Had delicious food (I had red velvet cake twice in one day from two different groups, what are the odds), did a bunch of fun games and got to chat with a bunch of friends that I haven't seen in forever. Totally my kind of laid-back, not-noisy, geeky party with people whose company I enjoy. :D

And then I woke up early this morning to go swimming...only to learn that they've drained the pool. And it probably won't be fixed again for at least a week. 8| Argh, there goes a week's worth of trying to develop this habit more...

Finally, so I decided that I wanted to try drawing the main characters from the Destiny Islands fic I just finished:

What is this week already aaaaah

So yesterday I went with [livejournal.com profile] yamikonumber7 and her former roomie to California Adventure/Disneyland, and it was awesome despite crowds and an overcast day. I got peer-pressured onto the Tower of Terror again, but I managed to survive. The rosemary cornbread at House of Blues will never not be totally delicious. We lol'd a lot at various jokes throughout the day. What was significantly less awesome was the drive home. The 5 screwed us over again, thanks. 8| I got back considerably late and had some upsetting nightmares and slept way too late this morning. I don't remember all of the nightmares, I just remember there being something about a horrible infection, and I was trying to get this injured hawk to fly but it couldn't, so I was scrambling over this sandy cliff in order to catch it before it fell. And my brother was telling me not to touch it because it was infected, but I wasn't listening to him. D: Yuck nightmares.

Before I get into the rest, though, I HAVE A BIRTHDAY PRESENT FOR YOU, KIA. And heeeere it is:

First off: HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to both [livejournal.com profile] purapea and [livejournal.com profile] odd_on_purpose! Hope your days are awesome!

And to many on my flist...I wish you luck and love getting through the month. In my opinion, April is a nasty month. I can't recall an April that was ever REALLY that good, so I hope things get better for you soon. May is just around the corner!

I also forgot to mention so earlier, but I've posted two new chapters to that Destiny Islands fic: chapter six and chapter seven.

So I'm doing my MST3K-watching rounds again, and it got me thinking a bit. While all the episodes are funny, I've found some funnier/more enjoyable than others, and I wonder if it has to do with the movies they're riffing on. To me, it seems there are four types of bad movies they riff on:

- There's bad-goofy movies, which are fun to watch because they're just plain SILLY and nonsensical. (Most of the Gamera movies, Cave Dwellers, Prince of Space, Night of the Blood Beast, The Magic Sword)
- Bad-boring movies, which are movies where nothing at all seems to happen. (The Unearthly, Manos: The Hands of Fate, Monster A-Go-Go, Bride of the Monster, The Creeping Terror, Red Zone Cuba)
- Bad-preachy movies, which are movies that are bad because they try to get across some important message, but the filmmaker is incompetent or the message is completely outdated. (Most of the 50's educational shorts, Invasion USA, The Sinister Urge, The Violent Years, High School Big Shot)
- Bad-upsetting movies, which are movies that are not only BAD, but leave you feeling slimy and rotten. (Eegah, Kitten With a Whip, Parts: The Clonus Horror, It Lives By Night, Squirm)

In my opinion, the episodes riffing the bad-goofy movies are the funniest, and the bad-upsetting ones are the least funny. (In a general sense...there's always good riffs in any episode). Do any MST fans have types of movies they prefer to watch because the jokes seem easier to laugh at? And do today's bad movies also follow patterns of bad-goofy, bad-boring, bad-preachy and bad-upsetting like older bad movies do?

Year older
On Friday I went to California Adventure at Disneyland with my mom for my birthday, and it was quite fun! She'd never been to CA before, and I was getting in free anyway, so I figured hey, I'd just show her around! We did pretty much everything there (the place isn't nearly as big as DL so this isn't a difficult thing to do), including Soarin', all of the Animation building, California Screamin' (which ended up being a mistake, oops...) the new Toy Story Mania ride, River Rapids, the Monsters Inc ride, and the Muppets and Aladdin show. She enjoyed the shows and the Toy Story ride, but you'd have to be nuts not to enjoy the Toy Story ride.

It looks like they're installing a water and lights show there, kinda like Illuminations...but hey, since they're trying to turn this place into Pixarland anyways, they'll probably get better about making the money they need for it.

We also had some pizza for dinner at the Naples restaurant in Downtown Disney, and I got a couple of nice things! :D I got Lilo and Stitch on DVD, since I didn't own it yet and it's good stuff, some cash from the bro, and I also got an FFVII Cloud Play Arts figure. Swank! I also got a vinylmation Mickey figure: a blank one, so you can paint on it. The thing is, I NOW NEED TO DECIDE WHAT TO PAINT ON IT. I'm not sure yet. o_o

Also also, got a pair of sunglasses, since I was desperately in need of them. Funny story about this: we walked into the big fancy sunglasses store in Downtown Disney. I started trying on a few, only to quickly discover that these sunglasses were $200+ 8( We asked if there was anything around, say, the $40 range, and the sales lady looked a little peeved and showed us a tiny little rack of them. That wasn't working, so we went to the World of Disney store next door where they had some sunglasses tucked back with the rest of the clothes. There, we found a pair of sunglasses that were cute, looked good on me, seemed pretty durable...and cost a total of $17.00 A difference of ten times the cost there, for something that ultimately looks better on me and actually fits. Wooooow, sunglasses.

And when we got home, there was cake! A very good day indeed! And thank you thank you to everyone who sent well wishes, you dudes are the best! ♥♥♥

And now back to running around like crazy for con aaaahhhh

Midway to middle age?!?!
I'm not going to be around online tomorrow at all: it's my birthday, and I'm going to Disneyland with my mom. Probably to California Adventure, since she's never been and it's nice to show people around, even if CA is not as cool a DL itself. XD

I'm going to be 25 tomorrow AAAAAAAAAH I AM SO OLD AND CROTCHETY D8

Also for that, uh, I didn't know what to ask for. >> I feel like asking for anything from people is just putting undue pressure on them because of economic times being the way they are, and who wants that pressure? And when it comes to art and fics, dudes know what I like anyway. \o_O/ Unless they don't, in which case...they don't?!

Otherwise, I went and scoured the Comic Con schedule today, and I think I have a tenative list of what I want to attend:

Thursday

3:00-4:00 - Disney Master Classes panel (Glen Keane hells yes!)
5:30-6:30 - Naughty Dog panel on Uncharted 2 (Might skip this because of the concert)
7:00-finish - Video Games Live concert by the marina
* Lucasfilm portfolio reviews

Friday
12:45-2:15 - Disney Animation panel
2:30-3:30 - Shane Acker's "9" panel (both of these are Hall H, so WOO CAMPOUT)
7:15-8:15 - Rifftrax Live (this one is up for debate since I also want to get in line for the Star Wars film awards...)
8:30-10:00 - Star Wars Film Awards
* Nickelodeon portfolio reviews

Saturday
10:00-11:00 - Getting jobs in the video game industry panel
11:15-12:30 - Quick Draw panel
4:00-5:00 - Iron Man 2 panel (may or may not do; but it sounds interesting)
8:45-11:45 - Masquerade (Did this last year and am willing to go again!)
* Disney animation portfolio reviews

Sunday
10:00-11:00 - Doctor Who panel (I'm a little wary since that panel's gonna be CROWDED and I'm not as big a DW fan as others, but I've got nothing else to do on Sunday and it looks like fun)
* Smorgasboard portfolio reviews

* The portfolio reviews run through most of the day, and I'll only go to if I have the time...I don't want to do the all-day portfolio reviews that I did one year, especially since most were a waste of time, but I've been pursuing Nick and Disney for awhile and might even be able to talk to someone I know there.

Plus there's probably some anime I want to see in there. 8D SHOULD BE BUSY, AS ALWAYS.
