On Friday I went to California Adventure at Disneyland with my mom for my birthday, and it was quite fun! She'd never been to CA before, and I was getting in free anyway, so I figured hey, I'd just show her around! We did pretty much everything there (the place isn't nearly as big as DL so this isn't a difficult thing to do), including Soarin', all of the Animation building, California Screamin' (which ended up being a mistake, oops...) the new Toy Story Mania ride, River Rapids, the Monsters Inc ride, and the Muppets and Aladdin show. She enjoyed the shows and the Toy Story ride, but you'd have to be nuts not to enjoy the Toy Story ride.
It looks like they're installing a water and lights show there, kinda like Illuminations...but hey, since they're trying to turn this place into Pixarland anyways, they'll probably get better about making the money they need for it.
We also had some pizza for dinner at the Naples restaurant in Downtown Disney, and I got a couple of nice things! :D I got Lilo and Stitch on DVD, since I didn't own it yet and it's good stuff, some cash from the bro, and I also got an FFVII Cloud Play Arts figure. Swank! I also got a vinylmation Mickey figure: a blank one, so you can paint on it. The thing is, I NOW NEED TO DECIDE WHAT TO PAINT ON IT. I'm not sure yet. o_o
Also also, got a pair of sunglasses, since I was desperately in need of them. Funny story about this: we walked into the big fancy sunglasses store in Downtown Disney. I started trying on a few, only to quickly discover that these sunglasses were $200+ 8( We asked if there was anything around, say, the $40 range, and the sales lady looked a little peeved and showed us a tiny little rack of them. That wasn't working, so we went to the World of Disney store next door where they had some sunglasses tucked back with the rest of the clothes. There, we found a pair of sunglasses that were cute, looked good on me, seemed pretty durable...and cost a total of $17.00 A difference of ten times the cost there, for something that ultimately looks better on me and actually fits. Wooooow, sunglasses.
And when we got home, there was cake! A very good day indeed! And thank you thank you to everyone who sent well wishes, you dudes are the best! ♥♥♥
And now back to running around like crazy for con aaaahhhh
