HEY DUDES, I'M BACK AROUND THE INTERNETS NOW. It's been a pretty busy week since Thanksgiving, but also lots of fun.

First off: hello to any new dudes from the KH friending meme! I don't usually do those sorts of things, but hey, It Seemed Like A Good Idea At The Time. Expect mostly art dumps and chatting on about nothing in particular from me.

Thanksgiving itself went better than I expected, just because it was with people I don't see hardly at all. Friday in the afternoon I went and saw Harry Potter with my parents, and it was pretty dang epic. I enjoyed the movie...I dunno if I did as much as HBP, but quite a lot. I kind of loved how they did the tale of the three brothers, with that stylistic animation. That was probably my favorite part of the whole movie. Now just need part two to get here...

Then on Friday, teg_plays_games came over for a week-long visit, and we did many geeky and California things! I finally saw all of the first season of Avatar...so of course sometime I have to sit down and watch the other two seasons, too. 8D I did enjoy the show a bunch; I was impressed by so much in it. We also did a bunch of gameage, mostly Okami, BBS and Dissidia. It's really nice to be able to use the multiplayer options in both of those, and mirage arena-ing and Dissidia battles were both much fun, even if I frequently lost the latter. Ah well, I got to level some villains, since I haven't picked up that game in ages. And Teg got to laugh at the fact that sometimes rumble racing with Terra is REALLY REALLY FRUSTRATING.

On Monday we headed with yamikonumber7 out to D-Land! It ended up being a pretty good day to go, since it was the Monday after the break and a pretty cold day. (More of that cold was felt at night, though.) So there was practically nobody there...plenty of space to run around and the lines were all very short. We got to do pretty much everything we wanted, including a bunch of the darkrides and the teacups, which I haven't done in ages. We finished it off with the Christmas fireworks show + Disneyland "snow." The park closed early (probably because of weekday and winter times), but we got dinner at House of Blues and it was quite good.

Tuesday we did a few more geeky things and then headed to Hollywood for a showing of 'Tangled' at the El Capitan! Of course there was a little walking around the walk of the stars area before hand, too. We had totally awesome seats for the movie, and they did a stage show beforehand that I actually hadn't seen before. (Best part of that was obviously the 'I'll Make A Man Out Of You' segment.) Tangled was just as good the second time; the songs actually felt a little better to me the second time around. I do love El Capitan, and I'm debating shelling out for a ticket there for the premiere of Tron: Legacy... After the movie we got delicious ice cream at the Disney Soda Fountain, and I also gave Teg a superquick tour of Gnomon.

Aaaand today was even more geekery, Malibu Seafood and showing Teg some studios in Burbank before finally having to take her back to the train station. But it was indeed a fun week!

Oof...except now I should really get back to work, and I've been hit with the tired stick, too. @_@ I'm going to try and be as productive as I can in the next two weeks on the stuff I have to get done, partially to match what friends (and particularly my mom) are having to do right now, and partially because I want to get some of the freelance stuff out of the way so that I can focus on stuff like that Okami board or getting down more of that reindeer story...kinda fell behind on that. >>

I finished the book yesterday evening, after forcing myself very hard to sit through classes and labs on Saturday and Sunday and not just run out going SORRY, GOTTA GO FINISH THIS CHAPTER, BACK LATER. And, like half of my flist, it's time for my thoughts!

Stopping only to, uh, attend class and probably eat. I've been spoiled enough already just by skimming F_W and the Cornfield; I do not intend to make it any worse!

In other, unrelated news:
- I waaaaant to see Transformers still.
- I decided I needed a Lunargyros LJ icon, so I made one. Here it is!
- My family and I went out to eat at Yamato's yesterday, and it was delicious! :D Got the chicken and halibut, yummmmm.
- I also got some b-day presents! :D I got a new DDR pad (one-inch foam, wewt) that I immediately used yesterday, only to discover I was way out of shape. Must practice more and get back to being able to do some songs on heavy!
- I also got boxset volume 4 of MST3K yesterday! :DDD My brothers and I proceeded to watch Overdrawn at the Memory Bank and laugh ourselves sick.
- I then played some FFXII for the first time in awhile. Beat Fafnir, yay! Next stop: Hell Wyrm?!

Drawing: Toned some comic pages, finished Production Design I and Animation homework yesterday; will try and work on a commish today.
Writing: MY LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT FOR THE INTERNET APOCALYPSE.

Aside from going nuts with classes, I've been seeing movies! :D On the whole, I left much more satisfied with them than, say, Spiderman 3 or Shrek 3.

Aaand that's about it. Also, tomorrow we are leaving at Early O'Clock to drive up to Tahoe for my grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary/big family reunion. It's going to be an eight-hour drive there (oyyyy) so I will be bringing fanfic to write, comics to work on, and HBP to re-read in preparation for book 7. As such, I will be lacking the internets until, like, Monday night maybe. Otherwise not until Tuesday. So nothing important better happen until I get back! XO

Holy crap, I ignored a lot of work yesterday to play FFXII. THERE ARE SO MANY FRIGGIN' SIDEQUESTS. I SPENT EIGHT HOURS ON IT AND BARELY GOT FAR.
But I did manage to get the Esper Exodus, finish the bestiary for a few other places, find quite a few rare monsters (AND SOME ENTITES ASJDASDA), defeat Carrot, defeat Deathgaze, find some other mark I couldn't remember, do the Seven Sisters sidequest, and do the Earth Tyrant sidequest. *collapse*
Oh, and I did visit the Necrohol. Wasn't able to get everywhere because I haven't done the Nabredus medal sidequest yet; I think that's coming up next on my list. I have decided that I hate Baknamys. Haaaaaaate them. D:

Gah, this group project for History of Visual Effects class is turning out to be much more of a pain. And for such a fun topic, too! Curses!

I have a few questions, and some pictures.

FIRST AND IMPORTANT: Does anyone out there in LJ land know how to embed .jpgs into an .html file so that you don't have to pull them from an outside folder or source? Or, that failing, does anyone know how to save out an .html file made in Dreamweaver as a PDF or other viewable document? Basically, I really need to figure out how I can put up the puppet shows for download. However, upon testing, it seems that none of the images work from a downloaded file because they can't find the source. D: As I'm trying to take down the puppet theatre site by the end of next weekend, I'd really like to know if it's even possible for me to do this! (The fact that this is all going to have to come out of Dreamweaver kind of worries me.)

Otherwise, I realize now that the weekend I thought that the family reunion was is on another weekend...which totally leaves me free for the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows! So I'm wondering: who out there is going to a midnight party? Which bookstore were you planning on going to for said party? I've never been to a Harry Potter midnight party before, and seeing as this is the last one they'll ever have, I'd like to have the experience at least once. So, let me know, so that I can make plans, too! I'm excited for this last book, for all kinds of reasons. ;D

Feels like Friday today, which is a shame because it's only Thursday. However, that does mean that tomorrow's Friday, which is at least something to look forward to.

I've been re-reading the MsScribe story at work, mostly because I've been suffering a bit of writer's block on the latest KH fic. I'm not too worried about the block; as I'm about three chapters ahead of what I last posted. Have to break it eventually, though. Either way, the MsScribe story is engaging enough and long enough to glue me to the screen all over again; it's so unnaturally fascinating.

That, and I soooo want to go to a midnight party for Deathly Hallows. I don't know if I'll be able to because of family reunion stuff, but I am going to try and fenangle it.

I've also been feeling like I've been out of touch with the comics/manga community recently, which is kind of ironic since I've been drawing more comics now than ever before. But I haven't even read any of the latest RSoM entries, let alone thought about voting on them. I'll probably still buy the book when it comes out, though. And I still need to buy a few things like Mark of the Succubus 2 (I was going to get that signed and I missed yooooou, beanclam! DDD:), Steady Beat 2 and Roadsong 2. But aside from some of the OGM books and whatever is coming out next for Death Note, there's really nothing else I have as much interest in collecting. I just don't have the time to visit the bookstore as often, or as much will to spend my money on tons of different manga. :/ I'm still drawing away and want to do more in it, but it seems like I'm having the hardest time investing myself in the community. I don't really know why that is, or whether or not I should be worried about it.

Otherwise: why must we now wait until April for more Heroes?! WRRYYYYYYYYYYYY

Drawing: I've been in such a drawing mood recently, and it's frustrating not being able to do comics at work. Plus, I have two different KH fanart things (HUGE SURPRISE THERE INNIT) that I want to do.

ZOMG! The release date for the final Harry Potter book has been announced!

Weeee, I'm so excited! XD Just four days after my birthday! (Present pleez hint hint?) Although gah...I'm just now realizing that that's during the same weekend I'm supposed to go to that huge family reunion for my grandparents' 50th anniversary. And I really wanted to go to a midnight party, too, since I've never been to one and this will be the last one. Maybe I can sneak one in anyway or somesuch? I know at least one of my cousins is a HP fan, and both of my brothers are, so maybe if I make it out to be a family thing parents won't object to it. I just know I want to finish the last book as soon as I possibly can, because I will not be able to get onto the internets until I do.

Oh, and Nickelodeon said no to my portfolio. Boo. :( I can always keep trying for PA positions, though.
