Think about it, won't you?
Is this becoming a monthly post thing? Who knows, maybe it is. I really do all of my talking nowadays on plurk; it's just a lot more stress-free for me and the audience seems to be bigger there, so!

On that note, Kingdom Hearts 3D IS OUT TOMORROW AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH! I am going to be getting my copy the moment the store opens. 8D Like how I've done with my playthroughs before, I'll be liveplurking my playthrough of the game on plurk! So if you want to read along to all of my screaming about the game, you can just check here. I am also totally having a party with [personal profile] kiaxet and [personal profile] rasenth! I've made a Meow Wow cake, and will post pictures of it later. XD

Just NNNNGH been waiting forever to play this game, and at last tomorrow it's here!

Otherwise, life has been going okay, although I'll admit I'm not looking forward to the end of summer. I am sad that I missed Comic Con, but will be ready for it next year when it comes around. (Plus, CTN and others will be coming up in November!) Birthday also went great, got to go to Disneyland with a bunch of friends for it! I also got Final Fantasy: Theatrhythm for my birthday, and have been enjoying it a bunch! It is delightfully cute and addictive. XD

But yeah, the next week or so will be spent in total KH geek-out mode. 8D

All right, will end with a whole bunch of LP episodes and art...

Another painting based on a waking-up drawing! Finished this one awhile back. I am feeling better about painting now that I'm getting into a system that's fast and comfortable for me. Except more of these in the future...

And then some more All Hearts characters...

Week of busy artness
I really need to keep up on my LJ/DW friendslists better; I feel like I'm way behind on those! Just been forgetting to check them on a daily basis...

Anyways, a whole bunch has happened recently! I finally finished all the work for the opera, and then last weekend I got to head up to San Francisco and see it! This was my first time ever heading all the way up to San Fran, and it was a super-long drive by myself. However, upon getting there, everything went pretty well! Got to meet the crew before the show, and everyone really enjoyed the art. This was the first opera I'd ever seen, and it was a lot of fun to watch! Great singing, and the characters and story were funny and entertaining. At the end, I actually went up and took a bow with everyone, which was an interesting experience. XD

After helping everyone clean up the set (since this was at a high school theater; and a really nice one at that) we all went out for dinner at a pub in San Fran, and then I stayed the night with some friends of the art director. They had a really nice place, and I talked some with Arlin, who was big in the solar power business. Although, at like 5:30 in the morning while I was staying there, there was a 4.0 earthquake right in the city where I was staying...definitely felt that one. @_@ However, it doesn't seem like they got any serious damage there, thankfully.

And before heading home, stopped at a famous coffee shop to meet Ryune for breakfast. It was a good meal for cheap, and we had a lot of fun talking for awhile! Although man, driving in San Francisco proper is pretty nerve-wracking. @_@ Also my first time ever crossing the Bay Bridge...it was a toll, but I've never driven across a bridge that huge before.

If you want to see some of the art I did for the opera, you can see the prologue for it here:

Sometime I'll also upload the few photos I took while I was there of the backstage and crew.

Also this week, got to meet John de Lancie to give him a commission of Discord from MLP! :D He was a super nice dude. I'm debating going to the next BronyCon in June since I was invited...it's just a matter of figuring out if I can afford the cost of flying and possibly lodging. This is the original painting of Discord for [profile] ghettopeach that John signed; the commissioned one is a slight variation on this:

And then next weekend I'll be heading off to Wondercon...first time ever at that con; hope it's fun!

Here's a bunch more art things:

Where is August going?!
Aaaah, apps for It's Just A Game coming up!...

And speaking of games, this past weekend I went and finished 'Ghost Trick' for the DS, since [livejournal.com profile] universejuice and [livejournal.com profile] ggmoonycrisco kept insisting that I play it. XD

Aaaand frankly, I enjoyed it a lot! Would totally recommend this for anyone owning a DS! For one thing, the sprite animation was really great; some smooth stuff that looked awesome. It says something when you can totally tell what a character is like just from their silhouette, and not even being able to see their facial expression. All the characters were fun, with complex histories and motivations. And some of them were even sooooo cute! *looks pointedly at Missile* XD It's a fun puzzle-solving game, and for the most part I was able to solve all the puzzles through trial and error. There were a couple that I had to look up online, especially if they were puzzles that involved split-second timing (like helping Jowd escape from prison).

And oh man, I'm a sucker for time paradox stories, but even here the ending time paradoxes kinda made my head spin. XD And I was really not expecting the ending, with them explaining who Sissel really was. I think I may need to play through it again to catch all the little hints here and there about it, because apparently there's a ton of hints throughout as to Sissel's true identity.

So yeah...buy this game! I need to do some fanart for it, although it'll probably be spoilery. XD

Two more episodes of Kia and I's Kingdom Hearts 2 LP are up!

And there's a bunch of new waking-up drawings...

Prisoners are baked, not fried
Two new Lunargyros pages are up for today, read 'em here.

Saw tons of friends at the Fandom House on Sunday for a multi-party, including people I hadn't seen in awhile, and goodness it was fun! We went swimming even though it was freezing cold in the pool, had delishus food and went out to get soda and candy at the local vintage soda shop, and then an extended and insane IC drinking game. XD I am always up for such parties. Also, [livejournal.com profile] skillsontoast, IM me whenever you like!

ALSO ALSO, [livejournal.com profile] ghettopeach: I'm pretty certain I left my PSP and charger there. XD; Can you please bring them with you next time you're in my neck of the woods for operator? I'll remind you again later in the week if needed. THANK YOOOOU ;o;

I've been rather unmotivated on the job front, but I'm chugging along in other areas. At least at internship, we're finally starting to figure out what group projects we want to do, and I like the idea we decided on for our group! I need to start planning out the story and some designs for it this week, but luckily I have the time.

Since internship has been so slow otherwise, I've spent the time just hanging out with the coolest artists and practicing painting realism. I'm not very good with realism at all, so even just a bit of improvement in that direction is good, and I want to do that every day I'm there if there's nothing else to do. Here's what I've done so far: they're just copied from photos, with straight painting/no linework, and all on one layer.

Two paintings )

Aaaand of course, more waking-up drawings. I want to color one...but which one? o_oa

Your usual update dose
I feel like all I post nowadays is my morning art and Lunargyros, buuut I guess as long as people keep enjoying them, that's not so bad... |D

So here's the latest Lunargyros page.

And of course the latest waking-up drawings, plus one colored one...

Under-covers drawings 70-73, plus more )

Otherwise, I'm still waiting to hear back on the art test, which is aaaaaah nerve-wracking. Internship is getting a bit busier, which is nice at least, although mostly I would rather be working on projects there. Really lookin' forward to the weekend, since we'll be doing Disneyland. XD

I also got a new phone! It is a smart phone; the first one I've ever had, and an Android. It's going to take me some time to get used to it...I've never been much of a cell phone person. Now I'll have internet with me everywhere I go AND THAT IS A STRANGE THOUGHT. I AM USED TO STATIONARY INTERNET.

And now I must head off to watch newest Nostalgia Critic...

Playin' catch-up
...Did I already post a Lunargyros update for Tuesday here? @_@ I can't remember. IT'S THE START OF THE FINAL CHAPTER, SO I HOPE I HAVE. Either way, there'll be a new update tomorrow.

First things first: first day of internship was okay! I ended up having very little to do, because they had just entered a big slowdown and my car got parked in so I couldn't do any runs. |D The most I did was help hang some corkboards, which was kind of an ordeal considering the tools and time we had available. But so far everyone there seemed nice enough. The layout of the studio is rather confusing and will probably take some getting used to. Also, I can't get to intern meetings since they're on days that I work. :/ Hopefully tomorrow will go well and I'll have more to do. I want to try and work on some more concept stuff there; starting to feel it more.

Aaaand here is more Okamiden commentary! I'm coming up pretty close to the end:

Got fwapped with the tired stick
Enough I think has been said thusfar on the recent political happenings, so I don't really feel like getting into that right now.

So here's some more commentary from Dissidia 012, mostly of my playing through 000.

Up through most of 000 )

I dunno when or how I'll finish with commentary for Dissidia 012...I've got two more reports to unlock and two more Feral Chaoses...es to beat, and I don't know if I want to do commentary for all of those. @_@ I may just move on to Okamiden, which I haven't opened yet.

Here's two more waking-up drawings, plus one colored one:

Under-covers drawings 43-44, plus more )

Finally starting to get to me that I actually begin that internship next week, so I'm starting to feel that nervousness. Not that I don't think I can do the work; I've done that sort of errand-running or phone-answering before and I know I can do it (once I ease into it enough). I just hope I perform well enough on everything that I can get a job, since that's what I really need.

And Plurk is fun thusfar! XD

There's a new Lunargyros page up today, you can read it here.

I hope everyone had a good Easter weekend, and if not an Easter one, then just a good weekend! I still have much candy left, nommm. I am still in a mess about what I will be doing in the fall, and trying to figure out what I should do...

Over the course of the week I've been playing more Dissidia, and finished up through 013. So I have more commentary to post, but it's just on all the reports that I unlocked from playing through 013.

Dissidia up through a good chunk of the reports )

So yeah, all I have left is 000, but that will require some leveling up...

Just checking in
No new arts to share right now; I've been working mostly on freelance stuff and will keep doing so all this week. Still dunno how summer stuff will go, but for good things, I finally finished that long animation project! And the client liked it a lot, so YAAAAAAY. So glad that it's done and that the client was happy. ToT

Went to Disneyland with Kia yesterday, was much busy and much fun! I am sore from walking, which probably means I need more exercise. For some reason there were a ton of tour groups there; we ended up keeping count of how many different groups we spotted, just based on matching shirts or hats. XD We did Electronica for awhile, and also went and saw the preview of the new Pirates movie. XD I was intrigued by the preview, and was rather amazed by the way they synched up the pirate cast members introducing the preview with what they showed from the movie. About a month until next Pirates movie is out...

Speaking of Disneyness, I'm debating doing some art for the Epic Mickey art contest, because it looks like fun, and I haven't done any Epic Mickey fanart yet. But, I just need a really good idea...

Well no new arts except some more waking up drawings...

Under-covers drawings 27-30 )

There's a new Lunargyros page, read it here.

I've been working all week on this sudden-flash project, with the first pass needing to be done by tomorrow. I really hope I don't have to make that many changes to it, because I literally do not have the time to make it as long and elaborate as I suspect the client is thinking. Guh, this is probably the most stressful freelance thing I've done. T_T I'll be happy when I get it done. (And also will be happy to get some more monies from it, since this way I can actually justify getting Dissidia 012 when it's out...)

The two books I ordered came today! Dream Worlds and Framed Ink, which look very informative/inspirational and I need to read through.

Third Pony Herd
New Lunargyros page is up this week; read it here. I just finished a massive chunk of pages at once (at least compared to what I usually do) so I may do another double update month later.

Went in for an interview today at a studio in Culver City...not for a paid job, but for an unpaid internship, but it would still be good to do because experience/references/resume padding/etc. So, hoping that that'll work out! I won't hear about it for weeks, though.

Aaaand I have finished up the rest of the MLP requests! I think at this point, if I do any more ponies they'll be commissions only, since I unfortunately do have other projects to get to. |D like reindeer story stuff, aaaugh I'm so behind

Ponies ponies ponies
Forgot to post this earlier, but I did a random doodle during preview days...just letting my pencil wander, which I need to do more often.

Two flying things )

As said before...GOT SUCKED INTO THE PONIES. WHY ARE THEY SO. CUTE.
And then Kia wrote some fic and it was equally cute, so I went and drew Terra, Aqua, Ven (and Vanitas) as ponies...

We're PONIES. )

And drawing ponies is fun. Soooo...it's request time again! Comment here with any character you want, fandom or original, and I'll draw them as a pony. Only doing the new style MLPs, because that's what I've seen and know right now. Also helps if you can suggest a cutie mark for them if I don't know the character well. XD

It may take me awhile to finish requests since I am buried underneath a self-inflicted mountain of Lunargyros and other things, but I'll post finished ponies in a separate post.

Not much going on around Lynxland lately except for me hanging with people. [livejournal.com profile] ghettopeach and [livejournal.com profile] corrielle came over Friday night and we had a really great dinner and then hung out with crazy stories and FFXIII. Need to do it again soon!

[livejournal.com profile] yamikonumber7 kidnapped me today and took me down to the farmer's market, where we bought some delicious foods and I also got a sample of homemade dog treats for Sunshine. Got some apples there that were reeeeeally good.

Aside from attempting to get trophies in Re:Coded and freelance stuff, I'm also trying out some more stuff with Painter, which I need to get better with. Lil' preview of some (unfinished) stuff so far:

Goals and such
As of yesterday, I've actually reached my goal for 10-Humans-A-Day! My goal was to draw 1000 humans by the end of the year (starting from...whenever I started, which was after I finished BBS, I think) and I've now drawn that 1000 humans! Most of the time I was drawing form stock photos, sometimes copying other artists, and sometimes my own stuff (like the BBS casts). While I didn't always feel up to it, I'm glad that I stuck with it all the way to the end of the year. My humans aren't totally perfect, but I think there was significant improvement...I feel a lot more confident drawing them, and can get them down faster, too. Soooo, yay! Glad I did that art goal.

And so knowing that I can do it, I'm setting new art goals (I guess art resolutions?) for myself starting next year. Since talking with People Whose Opinions I Trust (or recruiters, who are People Whose Opinions Matter The Most) it seems that in terms of my boards, my drawings are fine and the story is clear but my camera usage and staging needs more work. So to fix that, I need to sit down and study more movies...pick a scene from a movie and write down the shots/camera moves and then draw them out, just to see how they work. So I plan to do that for four movies a week...pick one scene and board it. My goal is to do at least 50 movies.

That aside, I also want to do one grayscale painting a week. I want to be better at color, but to do that, I need to get better at doing things in grayscale, especially faces. So, along with the movies, one grayscale painting a week (probably from a photo as well.) I'm hoping to do at least 20. Hopefully these will also work out okay.

I do have one other resolution for next year; slightly less fun...I decided I'm going to give up soda completely. Just go cold turkey on it, like my little bro did. I tried to just cut down my intake, but that didn't really work. This is going to be hard for me, because I loooove soda, and I don't really have any other regular caffeine source like coffee or tea...I drink those pretty rarely. But I know I'm already lazy about my food choices, and giving up soda is at least one "lazy" thing I can do to better my health. After hearing about all of the junk soda does to you (totally aside from weight), I'm thinking it may be for the best. So, after December 31st, I'm saying goodbye to soda.

And of course, some more Epic Mickey playage...

Up through the end of Ventureland )
