Jeebus. I'm at work right now, and usually nobody calls this early on a Sunday morning. But now I've been getting call after call going "Is the campus open? Can I still go see 'The Nutcracker'? Are the roads open? Is 'The Nutcracker' still on? Are you SURE the roads are open? WHAT ABOUT MY NUTCRACKER TICKETS?!"

One guy even called, and was all "Oh, I need to get in touch with the fire." What the hell do I say to that? "Sorry, the fire's not at their desk right now, but leave me a message and I'll make sure they get back with you?"

I hate wind, and I hate fire. I'm really thankful that there's a lot less wind right now so the fire is more contained, but I think some homes still got burned down. For the love of baby Bulky Vendors, it's almost DECEMBER. While the rest of the country is freezing their butts off, California is still stuck in HUNKA HUNKA BURNIN' STATE mode. Can we please get with the rest of the season and, I don't know, NOT BE ON FIRE? Or at least be cold enough so that fires don't start in the first place? If I'm in a tank top after Thanksgiving, UR DOIN IT WRONG.

Ugh, and I woke up to some bad nightmares last night, too...

But in a spirit of thankfulness from last Thursday, I'm really grateful for the great firefighters here. I'm glad our house is still safe. I'm glad the roads are open and no one seems nearly as panicked as last time. But if my favorite cheap seafood restaurant burns down, I'll be so sad. D:

Also, little bro brought over his Wii yesterday and I spent like four hours playing Twilight Princess. That was pretty awesome. And it's making me want a Wii more and more. ;_;

Back at school again now, and since I don't think I'll be going back home tonight, you probably won't see me around online until Thursday. Have to catch up on work now, but I don't even know where to begin... -_-

BE OKAY, SAN DIEGO. ;_;

Hey, just letting dudes know that yes, I'm alive, and my house hasn't burned down, hooray! Thank you for the well-wishes! ;_; Everyone is okay so far; I haven't heard of any deaths. However, the church I drive by every day is completely gone; part of the hills surround campus are all black, and I think the castle is gone, too. The fires aren't gone by any means...they're still burning in various spots along Malibu, and I know there's big ones in Irvine, Moorpark, Valencia and San Diego, too. D: (PLEASE be safe, my San Diego friends!)

They at least let us return to our homes on Pepperdine yesterday afternoon. Obviously, internets and electricity are working, so that's always good! However, pretty much all of the roads are closed, so I missed school both yesterday and today. XP I am going to try and go in tomorrow, though it'll probably mean the commute's twice as long since I'll have to double back to Kanan to get on the freeway...I highly doubt either the canyon or PCH will be functioning tomorrow. Yesterday I felt sick and had a splitting headache from all the smoke, even after wearing a cheap oxygen mask for a good chunk of the time. Today I feel a little better; I'm just downing water and trying not to overexert myself so that I'll be okay for tomorrow.

Also, since I was pretty much too ill and worked up to concentrate on anything, I spent most of yesterday and this morning fighting Yiazmat: I'm guessing around ten hours total. And at around noon, I emerged VICTORIOUS! So:
Defeated Yiazmat = YES
Completed the bestiary with 100% = YES
Earned the Order of Ambrosia ranking = VERY YES

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. 8D

And that's...about the only happy thing that's happened this weekend. :D; So I'm going to go attempt a bit of productivity now.

So yeah, email not working, losing Flash drives and car making funny voices kinda sucks.

But I have to admit, they suck way less than being woken up at 6:00 in the morning by frantic parents saying we need to evacuate the house because of fire. So now I am down on the campus computers, with the few belongings I decided to grab, and looking out the window to notice the sky is brown, the sun is neon orange, and the ocean is yellow.

So yeah. If you don't hear from me in a long while, it's because my house burned down.

(But hey, at least the electricity is back on...)
