Sophie sleeps all day
Once again, it's been forever since I've updated here. And my excuses are the same...busy with many different projects, mostly checking iJAG for Dreamwidth stuff and Plurk for friend stuff. I'll try to keep up a bit better in the future.

May is going to be an...interesting month. Definitely a busy one in many ways. But for right now, I got a little less than a month's worth of freelance work, which will be real nice. Also, the project itself is actually pretty fun to work on...my kind of aesthetic and such. Hope the finished product turns out well! Mentordude says that work leads to more work, so I definitely hope that's true.

I've got a whole ton of ponies on my desk that I intend to paint and sell for AM2 Convention! I did some test paints for three of them, and they turned out okay! I'm excited for the con...

Also, while I'm still avoiding spoilers completely, I at least listened to some of the songs from KH3D. And...huh, it's a bit different from their normal OSTs, but so far I think this one may be one of my favorites. The songs are just so happy.

Got another dump of LP and arts for ya...

Back in the spoiler bunker
OH GOODNESS but I've been busy around here! There are seriously not enough hours in the day.

Most people know this already, but I'll just reiterate it here again...I am trying to stay SPOILER FREE for KH3D! I know most friends have already spoiled themselves, but I really wanna hold out until I can play the game myself. So please don't go sharin' spoilers with me! I've been good about them so far, unlike with BBS, where I got spoiled for Vanitas without my consent on dA.

IN THE MEANWHILE, I'LL JUST ROLL AROUND AND HOPE THAT SUMMER GETS HERE SOON SO THAT I CAN PLAY IT AAAAAAAAAAH AAAAAAAAAAAAH

This past weekend I was super-busy with a sudden barrage of freelance projects, all of which I thankfully got done on time and to the clients' satisfactions! Had to do a storyboard for a commerical (online commercial, but still) and then a series of stickers, logos, mock sites and more for a music video. If either of those things goes up soon, then I'll link 'em.

Also, on Saturday, I went up to visit my grandma, since she was recovering from a broken wrist and I haven't seen her in awhile besides. It was nice just to hang out with her for awhile and talk, and we also got us some In-N-Out and ice cream. We also went to see my grandpa, and it was...definitely an interesting experience seeing him again, compared to the last time we visited him. I know he didn't recognize me at all, but at least he seemed to smile a bit when I talked to him. I drew him a little sketch just to keep.

OH, something else I just remembered...I got invited, so I'll bet at AM2 Convention in June at an artist's alley table! :D I'll be selling a buncha stuff, including fanart-things and copies of LG...so woot, finally get the chance to do that! I'll probably mention the con again closer to June.

And hey, Kia's computer is working again, so we've got another episode of the Kingdom Hearts 2 Let's Play up!

Heat saps my energy
The most recent rant at KHFFR has made me think of maybe babbling about how KH fandom has changed for me over the years...how I'm still in it, and still enjoying it, but have just changed on how I interact with it and my general thoughts on it. This is definitely the longest fandom I've been in...my other longest one being X-Files, which may also be fun to babble about in comparison to the KH fandom. Dunno if anyone care about my babble, though. |Da

In any case, fandom musings seem way preferable to thinking too much about real life, which is just depressing me lately. I need to really take a long vacation from politics and maybe just news in general. 8( At least work is going okay, despite sudden really annoying parking problems.

Anyways! It's time to share some LP and art with you!

Yay It's May
Hey dudes, sorry I haven't been chatty much lately. I've been working on another uber-last-minute rush project for a new company, and it's an animation, so that's nabbed most of my time. Luckily, I've got most of it done by now, and the company seems to like it. Here's hoping I finish everything in time!

Yesterday was the Pepperdine graduation, so of course I went with the family. The weather was seriously perfect; it was bright and sunny, but there was plenty of breeze to keep it from being too hot. The graduation didn't go on too long; the speeches were nice and succinct. However, since there was lots of sitting and listening to speeches, I decided to do some drawing:

View from the bleachers )

Afterwards, we went out for delicious, delicious steak at Woodranch, and then went and saw How To Train Your Dragon, because that movie is always worth more than one viewing. I swear, I teared up even more at the end of the movie this time than I did the first time I saw it. (And why the heck haven't I drawn Toothless yet?!)

Huge congraaaats, [livejournal.com profile] yamikonumber7! I tried to find you afterwards, but I couldn't. D: Did find your roommate, tho! And we need to go to D-Land on Thursday!

Drawing: Just this animation project

Last day yesplz
Wasn't able to mention it before, but there's a new Lunargyros page up for viewing here. My internet was down part of the week, and this week I've spent most of my work time away from a computer, so no internets there, either.

Speaking of...today is my last day of work, HOO-RAH! I'm gonna eat Pickup Stix for lunch today and maybe hit B&N during that, and then go home and finally chillllllllllll for a week. (And by "chill", I mean work on a crapload of stuff that haven't been able to get done yet. 8D) But at least it won't be this job! MWAHAHA.

Will probably mention more stuff later when I can think of it. (Like Final Mix, which I waaaaaant.) I'm going to Songfest tomorrow afternoon, which should be fun. I haven't gone in several years.

Drawing: Comics, and finally finished the pencils for that huuuuge cat pic.

Writing: Up to chapter 13 of the fic!

The saga of the Loanmonster continues...
New Lunargyros page was last Tuesday, which you can read here. For some reason, the note I added didn't show up...

UUUUUUUUUUUUGHASKDJKALDJALKDJLKA I hate loans, hate them with the fiery passion of a thousand Salamander Entities that just noticed you tried to use cure around them, you fool!

Sallie Mae is not budging on allowing my dad to be a co-signer. His credit is apparently bad, through absolutely no fault of his own. And he doesn't know when the credit rating will go back up enough to get that fixed, even though those debts have now been paid off. I've tried asking my other relatives, but none of them are in a good position to co-sign either. Everyone has kids in college, or is refinancing, or something else.

Which means I can either a) apply for a personal loan from my bank, or b) ask my parents about a home equity loan. The latter feels like asking a lot from my parents, so I guess I'll try and apply for the personal loan. Except the interest rate on that is gonna suck compared to the career training loan. Dude, screw uber-unhelpful Sallie Mae and exponentialy-unhelpful Equifax Credit Rating place, which is apparently run entirely by robots. I don't even have bad credit. I just don't have enough current credit to apply, or I don't own a home, or I actually finished college. Because apparently, once you finish college you automatically can buy a home and have a great job that pays a lot and your credit's just swell, whoop-dee-doodle! HAHA NO. It's horribly ironic that you apparently need tons of money to apply for a loan. But if I had tons of money, then I wouldn't need to apply for a loan in the first place! 8D

Assuming I can get any of this to work out, I better not screw up at this school at all and make sure I get one of those nice, animation-y six-figure-income jobs within the next few years like admissions and financial aid keep saying are so likely. 'Cause if I don't, I'm going to be in debt for the rest of my natural life. I probably will anyway.

And my boss "yelled" at me again today because I've been making so many phone calls trying to find co-borrowers or figure out how I can pay this damn tuition. Sorry, it really ain't my fault that the offices I need to talk to are only open, LE GASP, during the same time this office is open! It's not like I want to be spending HO NOES 15 MAYBE 20 MINUTES OUT OF MY DAY on the phone. The sooner I can work this out and get financial aid, the sooner I can stop wasting your time and instead feel good about wasting my time 'cause I know I'll only have to waste it for one more month before I can go learn 3D.

Maybe it's because I've having such trouble with this money stuff, or maybe because I do want out of this job, but now I'm really looking forward to going to this school. I want to learn this 3D stuff and, hell, get a job at Disney. Or Pixar! Anywhere I want! I JUST NEED SOME STUPID MONEY TO GO.

*pounds head on desk until blood spurts*

In fandom news:
- ZEXION IS THE PAGEMASTER. BEST WEAPON EVAR.
- Dude, Donald using Lexaeus's tomahawk and Goofy using Vexen's shield as weapons? GENIUS. SEXY GENIUS. I will so be using those. XD
- Two new Keyblades?! I so want to try the Organization!Mushroom! One. It looks fuuuun!
- Scenes the fanbrats will run with from this internet to the next be damned; I still want Final Mix!
- [livejournal.com profile] aphonetic, you and [livejournal.com profile] alba_aulbath better get started on chapter one by the time I get home, or I'll kick you in the face! :Db

Drawing: Working on various comics. I have other things on my plate, but I just don't know when I'll get to them.

Writing: My biggest consolation right now is that I'm having soooo much fun writing this fic. ♥ Gonna work on it more today...

I need a munny tree.
Grah! I remembered today that I haven't payed the student loan stuff I owed. D: Except I haven't gotten any letters in the mail on how much I do owe (maybe it's going to my old address??) and I never remember these things anyway since my parents said they'd pay for my Pepperdine loans since they weren't that much.

PARENTS, I AM SORRY FOR BEING A FINANCIAL PAIN! ;~;

And then today I have to leave early to go do my financial aid review. And if it goes poorly then I won't get the monies I need. But I neeeed them if I'm going to go to this school for two years and not work! And pay rent! And gas and food! And then I still need that new car and that has insurance, too! And now these OTHER student loans! sdjkalda I haaaaaate money! DX

...Also, I really need to make a "*FLAIL!!*" icon for Dusk!Axel, 'cause it would be really useful right about now.

Man, it's times like these when I wish I could use video game money. Just beat up some Heartless and viola, you have 200 dollars! Or just sell some bone fragments! BTW, [livejournal.com profile] tegurunrampant, thanks for that tip, since I got a bunch of bone fragments and I sold most of them and now I have 6000 gil or so and can totally buy some good weapons/armor so that I don't die HOORAY!

Drawing: Some small project yesterday, plus finished toning another LG page.

Writing: I'm working more on the Lunargyros script! At a fun exciting part, wee!

ONE MORE THING:
If there's ANYONE out there in LJ-land who lives near me and/or goes to Pepperdine and isn't going to Anime LA this Friday, or if you know anyone who is free, PLEASE let me know. If you are free on Friday, I need someone to fill in for me that day, otherwise I'll miss that day of Anime LA and everything that's going on there because I'll have to work the whole day. I don't know if I can even make the rum party. D:

The job's really easy. Just answer phones, run invoices, load paper, and whatever else people tell you to. It's in Westlake Village, and is pretty much smack dab in the middle of many good restaurants, and since there's an hour lunch you can eat almost wherever you want. It's just for one day, this Friday, from 9 to 6.

So if you or anyone you know can fill in for me this Friday, PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP. Otherwise I'll miss that day of Anime LA. :( I just can't think of anyone off the top of my head, and if anyone can, I'd love to know! THANK YOU.

Okay, just people at the Ranch will get this:
Just a few minutes ago, the secondary phone -the phone that maybe rings a few times a week 'cause it's not the "real" phone for the travel agency, so I have to answer it differently- rings.

Me: Island Splendor Vacations. :D
Phone: HI! This is Dorothy, from the Mortgage Center!...
Me: D8

DEAR GOD DOROTHY'S EVERYWHAAAAAAAAARE AHHHH

Otherwise...ugh. Shut up, work.
