May Nay
Man, I am really glad that May is almost over. It's been a pretty crummy month, all things considered, but with some good things here and there. Good things being a bit of work here and there, and going to Disneyland with my little bro. But a large chunk of time -almost two weeks- was spent attempting to fix my broken internet. Yes, it took that long to get it fixed. And really, the only reason it got fixed at all was because we switched to a different ISP. It was kind of nightmarish dealing with that, especially since I know I lost work days because of it, and put a ton of stress on me and my family (since their internet is all based around my computer.) Also, partly because of that, didn't get tickets to Comic Con this year. -_-

But as of today, house will pretty much be to myself for the next six weeks. My little bros will also be around for part of that, but I think it'll still be a lot of the responsibility falling to me. On the flipside, it'll also be nice (and kinda interesting) to effectively have the whole house to myself for that long. We shall see how it goes!

Alrighty, it's time to give you some more LP and art:

First off for arts, this is actually a redoing of an old character from a very old story. I wanted to try and new painting technique, and I'm actually really happy with how it came out! I think I'm finally figuring out painting techniques that work for me. Makes me excited to paint again in the future.

Write the bullet
...Have I seriously not updated this journal since April? Geeeebus. I think I'm just going to take everything in bullet points because I'm too tired to go into deep analysis on things before getting to the LP and art dump part of this post.

- The biggest thing here is that my grandpa passed away this last weekend, after a decade-long battle with Alzheimers. This is the first time I've ever lost a grandparent. It's funny, but because of the Alzheimers, it kind of feels like he's already been gone for awhile. I am now glad I got to see him last month, but also glad I did not see him in his last days, from the way my mom described how he looked. The memorial service is next week. More than anything, I'm just worried about my mom, who's also been awfully sick since last week, and my dad left for overseas just a day or two before my grandpa died. I'm glad my little bro is coming home this week.

- I feel like I am in a constant flux state of confidence and fear about the future. Sometimes I'll feel fine, and sometimes I'll worry myself silly. I wish I knew what to expect or where I'll be at the end of the year.

- I've been doing some freelance work for a music video, and although it's going slow, I'm enjoying working on it. If I just had more work like this in a constant stream, I'd be doing all right.

- iJAG is going well as always, and I love everyone that's in it. I'm also greatly enjoying some one-on-one RP shenanigans, and it's so great to have both these things to look forward to.

- I am still spoiler-free for KH3D, and honestly looking forward to that game coming out is the one big thing I am anticipating in July...even moreso than Comic Con. I so wish it was coming out in June; that'd be most ideal for me. Just from what everyone's said, I reeeeeally wanna play it.

- I am also still preparing for AM2 Convention in June. To that end, [personal profile] kiaxet and [personal profile] tairako helped me out with making these custom painted ponies:

Now to the art dump part, starting with some more episodes of the LP:

Back in the spoiler bunker
OH GOODNESS but I've been busy around here! There are seriously not enough hours in the day.

Most people know this already, but I'll just reiterate it here again...I am trying to stay SPOILER FREE for KH3D! I know most friends have already spoiled themselves, but I really wanna hold out until I can play the game myself. So please don't go sharin' spoilers with me! I've been good about them so far, unlike with BBS, where I got spoiled for Vanitas without my consent on dA.

IN THE MEANWHILE, I'LL JUST ROLL AROUND AND HOPE THAT SUMMER GETS HERE SOON SO THAT I CAN PLAY IT AAAAAAAAAAH AAAAAAAAAAAAH

This past weekend I was super-busy with a sudden barrage of freelance projects, all of which I thankfully got done on time and to the clients' satisfactions! Had to do a storyboard for a commerical (online commercial, but still) and then a series of stickers, logos, mock sites and more for a music video. If either of those things goes up soon, then I'll link 'em.

Also, on Saturday, I went up to visit my grandma, since she was recovering from a broken wrist and I haven't seen her in awhile besides. It was nice just to hang out with her for awhile and talk, and we also got us some In-N-Out and ice cream. We also went to see my grandpa, and it was...definitely an interesting experience seeing him again, compared to the last time we visited him. I know he didn't recognize me at all, but at least he seemed to smile a bit when I talked to him. I drew him a little sketch just to keep.

OH, something else I just remembered...I got invited, so I'll bet at AM2 Convention in June at an artist's alley table! :D I'll be selling a buncha stuff, including fanart-things and copies of LG...so woot, finally get the chance to do that! I'll probably mention the con again closer to June.

And hey, Kia's computer is working again, so we've got another episode of the Kingdom Hearts 2 Let's Play up!

It's Universal
So, today the family and I went out to Universal Studios Hollywood! While I'd been to the Citywalk in recent years, I hadn't been to the actual park since I was about five years old. And all in all, it was fun, if not short! We seriously went on or saw just about everything. XD

- EVERY SINGLE THING IN THIS PARK SQUIRTS WATER AT YOU. NOT EVEN KIDDING. If you're strolling down the sidewalk, there's posts misting water at you. There's a Curious George water park for kids. There's other cool-off spots that were Coke-themed. And pretty much every single ride squirted water at you at some point or other except for maybe...two of the shows. I mean, in this case it was okay since it was a pretty hot day (pretty sure I got a sunburn), but NOT EVERYTHING IN THE PARK NEEDS TO BE THROWING WATER AT YOUR FACE. Maybe they turn that stuff off on cooler days.
- We did the full studio tour ride first, which was probably the main attraction there, and was fun! We also did the 360 King Kong part, which was pretty cool. I could see a few parts where they changed it back from an earlier movie or version of the ride, like the Mummy section. But still, probably the most informative part of the park.
- Also did the Simpsons ride, which was actually really funny. Lot of clever jokes in that. Of course, I grew up watching The Simpsons with my family, so that was something we could all get in on together as far as jokes went. I do wish they hadn't taken out the Back to the Future ride, though.
- We did all of the shows...the Waterworld show was a lot of fun, great stunts, although you could tell which people were actors and which were stuntmen normally. XD And my mom got this awesome picture of the plane exploding over the set. The animal show was also a lot of fun, just because I looooove animals, although it seems some of the animals were not having a good training day. XD There was this adorable little fox, but he was obviously distracted from what he was supposed to be doing. The special effects show was also cute, although I was surprised that they didn't warn for some things in the show (like simulating sawing a person's arm off on stage. What if an audience member had a fear of blood?)
- We did the House of Horrors attraction, which was basically a haunted house walkthrough with a lot of famous monster movies. I thought the most unsettling part was the Psycho section, which was all distorted mirrors. I was just amused at the rest of it...there were two girls in front of us, who were screaming at every single actor that jumped out to scare people in the walkthrough. Those performers really must've honed in on those girls, because they were constantly jumping out on them while the rest of my family were just laughing. At one point a Texas Chainsaw Massacre guy leaped out to scare them, and one of the girls just leaped backwards into me and just would not move. No apologizing for the bumping or anything, just screaming and attempting to find shelter in my boobs.
- We went down and went to The Mummy roller coaster, which was...kinda disappointing. It started out all awesome, I was just getting into it and going all WOOOOOOOOOO...and then the ride went backwards and ended. Seriously, why so short? Also, the line coming up gave me reeeeeally strong Indy vibes. >>
- We did Jurassic Park last, and I didn't get that wet since I was pretty much sitting in the dead center of the boat. Still, that ride was fun! The T-Rex at the end was especially epic. I am definitely down with more dinosaurs in my life.
- Also ate dinner at Bubba Gump, which was good because mmmmm I love coconut shrimp. Pretty much went home straight after instead of going shopping in the Citywalk, which was weird because usually mom is the one who wants to go shopping and I'm the one who wants to go home. XD But we felt like we'd gotten our whole experience in! I'm used to D-Land and DCA, so it felt like it was a lot shorter than the normal for a theme park, but it was nice to run around on for just a day. And I do not mind chilling with my family. XD

And here's just one waking-up drawing today:

A buncha updates on ongoing series
There are two new Lunargyros pages up this week, and you can read them here. It's a big DUN DUN DUUUUUN moment!

The next episode of Kia and I's Let's Play Kingdom Hearts 2 is also up now!

And there's also some more waking-up drawings done:

Under-covers drawings 93-95 )

Just as an FYI: I won't be around tomorrow, as my mom wants us to do Family Together Times and we are going to Universal Studios. I have not been to Universal since I was like...five years old or something. At least long before the Jurassic Park ride was built. SO, I am looking forward to going and seeing what's about and having fun! I really have no clue what they've added there except for Jurassic Park and the King Kong 3D show. I'm sure there's more they've done. We'll find out tomorrow...

Drawing: LG, but soon that is over...

There goes a big, brave brick of meat
Watch out, the egg analogy is back...

I have five eggs. One did not hatch, but it smelled rotten anyway, so I'm not that upset about it. Two I've been sitting on for a long time, but will probably result in something like sparrows or robins when they hatch. One of those has some significant cracks in it. Then there's one that I'm sitting on, hoping for a chicken. But while I was sitting on all these, someone just ran by and dropped a HUGE one in my lap. Like, Christmas Goose egg big. It's made me so nervous. I'm still hoping they'll all hatch, but I don't know how the heck I'd be able to care for a goose, a chicken and two robins all at once. @__@

OKAY enough of the egg stuff. Yesterday went pretty well! I had no traffic both ways, which was very fortunate. Grandma and I went out to eat, got her car back from the shop, and then watched three movies in a row (all good ones). And there was much talking between us about various things. I think she was really glad to spend time with me, so I'm glad I took the time to go.

Otherwise, this week has been taking FOREVERRRRRRR. And these last few days leading up to the 7th seem to be moving at snail pace. PLEASE COME SOONER, TUESDAY AAAAAH

Drawing: The covers are taking foreverrrr; had an idea for a fanart but don't know when I'll be able to do it
