I had to accept the challenge. @_@ This ended up a bit longer than I expected, but still, I finally finished it! So, here is a crossover of small adorable things that kick ass.

Considering I've been up since 6:30 this morning, hopefully I can handle how late it'll go. XD But I'm looking forward to it! SHOULD BE FUNTIMES ALL AROUND.

My little bro has returned back home for the holidays! This means likely family gameage...he needs to play BBS, while I need to play TP and Epic Mickey (assuming we get it for Christmas). Woo!

In the meanwhile! Finally finished another KH fic I'd been poking at for ages a little bit at a time. I guess this would be considered the third (and therefore final) installment in the trilogy about Sora and Riku's parents on Destiny Islands. To round things out, this fic is about when the trio comes home at the end of KH2...and of course, what happens after that. Sorry about the title fail; I couldn't think of anything... Since this is the last bit of a trilogy, it may help to read Islands Like Glass Towers and The Locked Room first.

In the meanwhile...I have at last finished the fic I was working on! It is a one-shot sequel to Islands Like Glass Towers, so it's about Sora's (and Riku's) parents again. This time, taking place during the CoM/Days timeframe...expect angst. 8<

Well, things are still up in the air and all over the place and I can't really wrap my head around it all, but today should still be fun! As soon as works are done I'm heading out to D-Land to stake out a good spot for the World of Color opening show, wooo! Can't get a VIP seat obviously, but I'll find myself a good spot and then just sketch and peoplewatch all day until yamikonumber7 gets there and the show starts. I'm stoked for it! Never been to a first-day opening for a Disneyland show before. 8D

Speaking of Disney, I haaave...mixed thoughts on the Tangled trailer. The production values, as always, look very high. I can only imagine the unspeakable horrors that the rendering department had to go through with that hair, holy crap. The story kind of has me scratching my head, especially since it's way obvious that they're trying REALLY HARD to appeal to their male audience, but that...really shouldn't be necessary. It basically felt like I was watching an advertisement for a Dreamworks movie. And if there's anything I've learned from DW's advertising, it's not to trust it. DW needs to rethink their marketing strategy, because they do not market their films well. (Kung-fu Panda and HTTYD, anyone?) So seeing Disney market Tangled this way is making me react the way I usually do with DW marketing...either the movie will be as...forgettable as it looks, or else it will be a really excellent movie that just suffers from bad marketing. Either way, I'm going to hold off judgment until I actually see it, and I do intend to go see it.

Holy craaaaaap E3 is so close! WE'LL BE GETTING THAT BBS TRAILER SOON. *o* Also, I heard the news about Coded, and it made me go WOOOOO! I totally wasn't expecting us to get Coded, so the fact that it is being ported to North America, and it's for the DS instead of something like the iPhone? Awesomesauce! Can't wait to play that sucker, too!

And as if Square wasn't stealing ALL OF MY MONEY AS IT IS, now they go and reveal THESE SHINIES, which are seriously some of the nicest formation arts I have seen and I want all of those aaaah. I am SO totally doomed come SDCC exhibit hall time. My wallet will not survive the shiny.

Uuuugh I'm STILL sick. Not as bad as Sunday, but it hasn't gone away completely...I'm still congested and coughing all the time. I've felt like a slug all day...barely gotten anything done. And to many on my flist...I wish you luck and love getting through the month. In my opinion, April is a nasty month. I can't recall an April that was ever REALLY that good, so I hope things get better for you soon. May is just around the corner!

I also forgot to mention so earlier, but I've posted two new chapters to that Destiny Islands fic: chapter six and chapter seven.

So I'm doing my MST3K-watching rounds again, and it got me thinking a bit. While all the episodes are funny, I've found some funnier/more enjoyable than others, and I wonder if it has to do with the movies they're riffing on. To me, it seems there are four types of bad movies they riff on:

- There's bad-goofy movies, which are fun to watch because they're just plain SILLY and nonsensical. (Most of the Gamera movies, Cave Dwellers, Prince of Space, Night of the Blood Beast, The Magic Sword)
- Bad-boring movies, which are movies where nothing at all seems to happen. (The Unearthly, Manos: The Hands of Fate, Monster A-Go-Go, Bride of the Monster, The Creeping Terror, Red Zone Cuba)
- Bad-preachy movies, which are movies that are bad because they try to get across some important message, but the filmmaker is incompetent or the message is completely outdated. (Most of the 50's educational shorts, Invasion USA, The Sinister Urge, The Violent Years, High School Big Shot)
- Bad-upsetting movies, which are movies that are not only BAD, but leave you feeling slimy and rotten. (Eegah, Kitten With a Whip, Parts: The Clonus Horror, It Lives By Night, Squirm)

In my opinion, the episodes riffing the bad-goofy movies are the funniest, and the bad-upsetting ones are the least funny. (In a general sense...there's always good riffs in any episode). Do any MST fans have types of movies they prefer to watch because the jokes seem easier to laugh at? And do today's bad movies also follow patterns of bad-goofy, bad-boring, bad-preachy and bad-upsetting like older bad movies do?
