1) I had to snag some MLP icons, and this was one of the ones I got. XD Pinkie Pie is totally my favorite pony, so this is a WEEE SO EXCITE icon with her, and also Rarity.

2) It's Tachigami, one of the brush gods from Okami! Tachigami is my favorite brush god, since it's got power slash, one of my favorite moves, and is also the rat, which is my animal in the zodiac.

3) Sharks are my favorite animal, and have been ever since I was a bitty. This icon is a trollish reminder that for how scary they can appear, sharks are probably a lot better off with sharp shark teeth. XD

4) M-O is seriously one of the best characters in WALL-E. His reaction here is also appropriate in so many places.

5) Aaand of course, it's Kylie from my webcomic, Lunargyros! This was just me taking one panel and coloring it up real quick. I just liked that expression. XD

Yesterday at D-Land was quite fun! It was raining most of the time (not hard rain, but enough to require hoods and umbrellas), which drove away most of the crowds. This made the lines super-short, so we pretty much ran through all the queues and onto the rides. I have never seen a ten-minute line for Space Mountain before; it was kind of mind-blowing.

We also got lots of candy, om nom! We ran into a Roxas and a Halloween Town!Sora, and of course had some geekout moments. A lot more people recognized KH outfits; Halloween is usually a good time to go for that. XD


Also, I haven't even played Professor Layton before, but holy crap that Layton / Phoenix Wright crossover looks like ten flavors of EPIC. I'm gonna need to pick that up, because daaaayum that is awesome.

Day 29 - World/Disney Character you would most like to see

I HAVE WAY TOO MANY, FFFFF. I really want to see a Pixar world; either Toy Story or Monster's Inc., because they'd both work well as worlds to run around and fight in (and I have a huge soft spot for Monster's Inc.) Oh and I REALLY want a Bambi world, if for no other reason than to see the heroes run around as deer. I would also like to see Atlantis, and as for characters, I would scream and explode from awesome if they had Marahute/any aspect of RDU in there. Or the firebird from Fantasia 2000 as a boss. *_*

Day 30 - Biggest Wish for KH3

ONCE AGAIN, WAY TOO MANY AAAAAH
- I want to see a Sora/Kairi kiss, dangit! They're way overdue for one! BUUUUT, Nomura knows his audience way too well, so that's never gonna happen. Other BIGGEST WISHES:
- Again, any Pixar worlds. I know they mentioned the possibility once, and that makes me go *_*
- Let Kairi fight with us for once! Make her a party member or something!
- Getting to run around the big island of Destiny Islands instead of just the kids' island. Meeting their parents would be awesome.

Day 28 - Final Fantasy character you'd most like to see

I want to see someone from XII or XIII...in particular, Balthier from XII. But since that won't happen 'cause XII isn't a Nomura game, Lightning or Fang from XIII would be equally awesome. Also, my headcanon is now that Cecil of FFIV is the Doctor of Destiny Islands, so that would make me happy to see. XD

Kinda hard not to say Kairi, since she's in the game the most out of the princesses, and her connection to Sora and Riku and all that. XD And she's got spunk and drive!
But if we're not counting Kairi and just looking at the Disney princesses, I'm gonna say Cinderella. Her world was hilarious for every single character's story, and she's got her own kind of snark, too.

Day 24 - Favorite Birth By Sleep Armor

They all look shiny, but I think I'd have to say Ven's armor. (Except for color, in which case I think Aqua has the best color armor.) But Ven's looks the coolest, and I loooove his glider. XD Wayward Wind is a lot easier to control in races than the other two, and I love the fact that he surfs on it.

I'm really interested by the poll results from yesterday...there was a lot more yes than I was expecting! This now makes me wonder if this is mainly a thing among fandom-oriented (or creatively-oriented) people, or if it's true with the human population in general. Because if it's the latter, that says some interesting things about how our brains function and how important fiction and stories really are to us...not just to help us understand the world, but also for our own personal health. If so many of us need some form of fiction in order to get to sleep, and sleep is such a vital part of human health and productivity, then this could mean that we need fiction to maintain everyday health. I suppose I'd need more data, but yeah, it's interesting to think about. :Oa

Also, I have a (slightly late) birthday present for betwixt_worlds! This was something I intended to draw for her awhile ago and kinda failed to, so hopefully it's okay now. XD HAPPY BIRTHDAY AGAIN

ALSO also, I need help from the flist. I'd been mulling over getting Corel Painter for awhile, but had never really gotten around to it. Except now I downloaded a copy (actually a trial version unless I can get this dang serial number to work) and tried it out some. And. Holy crap, how have I lived this long without Painter. The brush and blending options and everything are SOOO SHINY AND I NEED IT AAAAH. It feels like REAL PAINT and that's totally the feel I've been trying to get with Photoshop but never really achieving. SO. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of Painter for mac OSX 10.5 that will work properly, whether with a proper crack/serial number or otherwise? I will love you forever and/or probably draw you something, no lie. *___*

Day 22 - Favorite Pairing

NOT A SHOCKER to anyone that knows me even a bit, but my fav pairing is Sora/Kairi. XD They are full of sweetness and cuteness and plotty goodness, and I admit I tend to ship canon and closest to it when I'm in a fandom the strongest. Although I'd say I ship the Sora/Riku/Kairi OT3 on an equal level...they're the ones that really turned me on to the idea of OT3s. And when you actually see the three of them all together, you can totally feel that they belong that way.

Also, my new tablet arrived today, huzzah! It feels a little different form the old one, but thusfar it is working just fine. The surface is a little bit rougher, so there's more resistance when drawing.


This is something I've been thinking about polling on because I am curious. I used to think it was just some weirdo thing that I did, but now I'm actually starting to suspect that it's a lot more common than I thought...it just never gets mentioned because everyone thinks it's just them. But for many years now, I will usually help put myself to sleep by thinking out some kind of fiction in my head...usually fanfic-related, because fandom stuff is fun to think about. Maybe something I plan to write, but often not; it's just a story written out in my head, and it'll help me get to sleep, because it keeps me on something happy or comforting and not thinking on what's actually worrying me about that day or the future. Basically, it's a bedtime story.

So what I am now curious about is how many other people do this, too. Do you tell yourself some kind of bedtime story to help yourself get to sleep? You don't have to share what your bedtime stories actually are; I think they're intended entirely for your own personal benefit. I just want to know how many people do this, and how common it may (or may not) actually be.

Day 21 - Favorite Opening Animation

Ummm...I think it'd be the KH2 opener. While the KH1 one is great, I loved that the KH2 one recapped a bunch of KH1 and CoM, so we got to see a bunch of the best scenes done in the full FMV animation. I'll admit I love seeing the Disney characters that way. And the scene with Sora and co. climbing the stairs in CoM is also really fun.

First and foremost: HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to betwixt_worlds, chobit001 and deltashade! You dudes rawk!

Disneyland was quite fun yesterday! Despite heat and crowds (it was a Saturday on a three-day weekend, so yeah) we did plenty of rides, ate lunch at the ESPN Zone (which I've actually never been in before) and other funness! Checked out the elecTRONica event they were doing in DCA, which was bunches of dancers/techo music/awesome lights/MARTINIS. They were also showing nine minutes of the film...it was what they showed at Comic Con, so nothing new for me, but they also did these cool in-theater effects. They also had a Flynn's Arcade setup where you could go in and play a bunch of oldschool arcade gammes -Galaga, Centipede, Donkey Kong, Pac Man, Asteroids, etc.- for a quarter each. That was pretty awesome. XD Also finally saw World of Color from the front, since some awesome dudes were cool enough to trade us their tickets for the earlier show! And we just talked BBS and fandomy stuff all day, which is always good at D-Land. XD

Also, I should be taking my grandma really soon and then also going for Halloween, so lots of Disneyland this month... @_@

Day 19 - Least Favorite Boss Battle

LEECHGRAVE. GEEBUS, HATE THAT THING. Days has a bunch of Heartless bosses that are just a pain in the ass (Antlion, Infernal Machine, Ruler of the Sky) but Leechgrave is DEFINITELY THE WORST OF THE LOT. I had so much trouble killing that thing, no matter what I did. I sucked so bad at that boss battle that the game had to lower the difficulty for me. 8|

Day 20 - Favorite Boss Battle

This was tough, but I think I'm gonna say Dark Thorn...AKA the big Heartless that you fight in Beast's ballroom. That this is just so much fun to fight. XD I love tossing it around the room using the chandelier or leaping off the pillars to counterattack. It's not often you get to use your environment to your advantage in a boss battle, so it's fun to do it there.

Day 17 - Favorite Drive and/or Command Style

In KH2? Antiform. I know you can't trigger it and sometimes it harms more than it helps, but DANG I love Antiform! I abuse my drives before getting Final Form just in the hopes that Antiform comes up, because there's something so deviously fun in just roundhouse-kicking Heartless in the face with POWAR OF DARKNESSSSSS. And as for Command Styles...Ghost Drive for Aqua is friggin' awesome. It's like you kill everything via teleportation. Very badass.

Day 18 - Most Frustrating Minigame

I'm gonna have to say Tigger's bouncing games from KH1. GEEZ those things were a pain, and I wasn't even that terrible at them! Probably the most frustrating bit is where you're supposed to jump up onto the tree branch to follow Tigger, except you can't see what branch he's jumping onto. I can't even describe how many times I had to redo that stupid game because of that ONE STUPID TREE. Tigger's bouncing games improved a lot in CoM and KH2. 8|

Day 16 - Favorite World Form Change

Most definitely Pride Lands form. *see icon* The Lion King is still my favorite Disney movie, and when I first found out that they were going to have a TLK world in KH2 AND Sora would get to be a lion, I seriously went into this fangasm mode and had a big, stupid grin on my face for three hours straight. No lie. Even if they didn't stick to the story that well in KH2, I just love running around the world and being all lion-y.

And every time Goofy went spinning as a turtle, I had to resist the urge to yell GAMERAAAAAAAA

...Okay, and on top of it all, my tablet is starting to go into its death throes. I was hoping I could make it last until Christmas, but I don't even know if that's the case. DX Which means I have to go shopping for a tablet again...and I dunno if I should just buy directly from Wacom, or go brick-and-mortar shopping, or buy a used one or what. Anyone out there know of a good place to buy tablets? DX I'm looking for an Intuos, preferably medium-size, $400 or less.

Of course, part of me is also thinking of biting the bullet and just plunking down the money for a Cintiq, but....NNNNGH they're so expensive. But so shiny, too. 8( But also also, apparently Cintiqs do not play nice with the kind of mac I have, so...I DUNNO WHAT TO DOOOO.

Day 14 - Favorite Heartless

WYVERNSSSSS. Probably not a shocker to anyone, but I have always loved Wyverns. 8D I love their look and their movement and I love beating them up. I even love that they made a reappearance in Days, even if they were sometimes a pain. I can almost forgive Dustflier just because it's a Wyvern-type Heartless. Just Wyverns are awesome.

Day 15 - Favorite Unversed

I think I am most fond of Wild Bruisers. They are less annoying than the other Bruiser types *glares sideways at Buckle Bruisers* and they're just strangely cute in their big galloping moves and in the fact that they have a banana peel on their heads.

Day 12 - Favorite Final Fantasy Cameo

I kinda feel bad using this again since I already had him on the countdown, but I do think that Auron is my favorite FF cameo. Partially because I haven't played VII or VIII but I have played X, and partially because Auron was just awesome as a party member, and partially because they gave some nice hints at canon!Auron in KH!Auron's backstory. So yeah, Auron's my fav. Zack probably comes in second 'cause I've played Crisis Core, and his lines were hilarious at points.

Day 9 - Favorite Team-Up

I'm assuming this means any party member or someone who joins the fight, so...Auron. Just yeah, Auron was awesome to team up with. His finisher move was cool and he was useful and he's Auron, so it's hard not to love him. XD

Day 10 - Happiest Scene

Probably an obvious one, but yeah, the final scene in KH2 when Sora and Riku return home and are greeted by their friends. You can't argue with a real happy ending, considering most KH games end more bittersweet than anything. Although in second, the scene at the start of KH2 where Sora, Donald and Goofy wake up after sleeping and dance around in a circle like a gang of derps. |D

Day 8 - Favorite World

Most definitely Timeless River. 8D Oh goodness, I love everything about that world...the animation, the references to oldschool cartoons, the fact that we get oldschool-looking Sora, Donald and Goofy, the silliness of it...my only big disappointment is that we spent so little time there. I hope someday we can go back to the past.

There are a bunch of others that come in second, too...Hollow Bastion and Deep Jungle in KH1 (YES I ACTUALLY LIKE DEEP JUNGLE, DON'T JUDGE ME), Pride Lands and Space Paranoids in KH2, and Dwarf Woodlands and Deep Space in BBS.

It is unbearably, intolerably hot here. I didn't sleep at all last night, and when I did it was full of nightmares. There were several times I woke up and my pajamas and sheets felt really damp because I'd been sweating so much, and that is gross. Whoever decided that these condos didn't need to be built with AC deserves a punch or five in the face.

So I am going downstairs, or anywhere else that is outside of the house and not here, and I am staying there until I can actually sit in my room and not stick to my chair like someone put superglue on the seat. I just can't get any work done on this comp. Which means you will only see me around sporadically, if at all, until probably Thursday. Sorry dudes. 8|
