I hate these Pinter plays
For today's 10-Humans-A-Day, I was on a bit of a Stephen Silver kick, so I wanted to try drawing the BBS cast in Stephen Silver's style.

Okay, Stephen Silver's style is a lot tricker than it looks. I honestly am starting to think that some of the best artists are the ones that can make things look so simple. Simplicity is often harder than complexity!

Aaaand I thought I'd make a little request meme out of it: Suggest to me an artist in comments, and I'll try to draw the BBS cast in that artist's style! You can pick just about any artist except Nomura; he obviously doesn't count. Can't guarantee that I'll actually do it, since I switch on and off to different exercises on 10HAD, but I'll likely give it a try!

Yeah, I pick the attack/sword style every time. :B I usually like to button mash on X until things die.

I think I like Aqua in this Silver style the best (what shows has he worked on? the style is familiar)

Butch Hartman (Fairyly Odd Parents/Danny Phantom) OR Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko (Avatar: The last Airbender)

Yeah, I think Aqua and Master Xehanort came out the best. XD And Stephen Silver did Kim Possible, so that's probably what you know it from.

Hmm, mayhaps one of those... (I think Butch Hartman's may be similar enough to Stephen Silver, with some exceptions XD)

Stephen Silver actually worked on Butch Hartman's shows as a main character designer. So it pretty much is the same style, just some vague differences.

:o Oh I didn't know that, but it does explain why their designs kind of look alike in the simplified, geometric shapes aspect. But I do think there are enough differences to say that they are their own styles. At least to me I can see a difference.

Yeah, there is a difference to them, I can totally tell the difference between DP style and KP, but I suppose it's like, to me, the various Disney movies. They all have their own specific style, but at the same time they're all sort of unified.

Ah, I wasn't a big watcher of Kim Possible but I have seen the show XDb

That's why I gave two because I wasn't sure if Hartman wasn't too similar to Silver.r

Disney style? I know there are about five bazillion different artists and styles in the Canon, but you know what I mean by "Disney style" right? ^^;;

Err...sort of? XDa Their style really changes with each movie, so maybe from a specific movie?

Hmm, how about Enchanted? I think that had an Art Nouveau look to it.

Oooh that Art Nouveau look is tough, but also very pretty. XD

I'd love to see them in Chris Sanders style! Or epic old Cartoon Network, like Dexter's Lab or Powerpuff Girls. :D

I like the bald guy the best I think he works the most!

I would love to try Chris Sanders' style again, but I wish he drew more guys, because it's really hard to get a sense of how he draws guys!

And Gennedy Tartakovsky could also be fun...

Oh man, I don't think I'd have the time or skills to do those lovely watercolors, but the sketches themselves are still good!

Re: /thread jack
not op, obviously, but I love Wish, personally. Though right behind that is probably their newest stuff - Tsubasa RC.

(On the other hand lots of sparkly crap and infinitely long legs would be amusing.)

Re: /thread jack
Might be fun to try their more recent stuff with xxxHolic / Tsubasa, what with how ridiculously long those arms and legs get. XDa

Oh yeah, good point. :)

Any of them would be fine, but maybe X/1999-era?

I have been dling tons of stuff from pixiv (I occasionally go on fanart binges), but I would love something in the style of Beauty and the Beast (Disney) or The Little Mermaid (Disney).

Alternately, oldschool pixel representation is always fun.

fffff Pixiv makes me wish I could read Japanese...

Oh hey, I actually have a pixel program too, so that would be really different to try. XDa

You can sign up without knowing Japanese! It is actually pretty easy. I also have a cheat sheet for keyword searches for Kingdom Hearts. (I could work out the katakana myself, but lazy.)
