I saw two huge condors gliding in circles on my way to work. o_o Highly doubt that they were California Condors, but they were still pretty dang huge.

Speaking of animals, my mom and I went to the LA Zoo yesterday! ...Except the traffic was unkind (there was an overturned truck right outside Pepperdine, yikes), it was pretty hot, and there were a lot of kids' summer camp groups there being noisy. So the animals were doing the smart thing and napping where no one could see them. |D I got a few sketches, but not many super neat ones.

If I could talk to the animals )

We got so tired from all the walking around that we went home pretty early and then just kinda collapsed into lazypiles ourselves. I've also been playing a bunch of FFIX...I'm on disc three by now, really charging through. I'll probably give my thoughts on it when I finish the whole game.

And yes, I started on the fanart that I polled about yesterday. XD

Requestsy Sorta
So, I'd like to make another trip to the zoo really soon (maybe next week) to do more drawings. However, I'm trying to decide if I should go to the LA Zoo or the San Diego Zoo. The SD one is better than the LA one...the only problem is is that SD is a really long drive, especially since I'd have to leave super-early in the morning. It's not really much fun to drive down to San Diego by myself. So I was wondering...does anyone want to go to the San Diego Zoo with me? You'd have to be willing to start early (like 4:30-5:00 early) and also put up with a sketchy artistperson who's going to sit in front of one animal for half an hour anyways. But I'll buy you zoo food in return! If no one wants to go with, then I'll just go to the LA Zoo, since it's closer.

And in nerdery news:
- Sheesh, Over 9000 Days comes out on Tuesday! @_@ That totally snuck up on me. Once I nab it, I'll probably be giving play-as-I-go updates. XD
- I am seriously, like, 30 Pokemons away from having a complete National Pokedex. XD Does anyone wanna do trades with me?

Drawing: So many sketches and stuff.

Writing: Finished the sporking!

It's the new zoo review, comin' back at you
So today for drawing practice I drove myself out to the LA Zoo, and I proceeded to sketch myself various animals of coolness. Here are some results!

The elephant exhibit was under heavy construction, so I couldn't draw any elephants...sorry, GG! D:

It's quite an amazing thing )

All in all, the zoo was quite nice, although the layout was confusing. I could never find the aviary or reptile house. Also, I'm pretty sure I paid more for food there than I did for my ticket. :| And it got pretty hot today, so most of the animals were sleeping in the afternoon. Why didn't the zoo open until 10:00? Most animals are more active in the morning, zoo dudes.

Glad I went, though! I always always love the zoo. I just need to figure out what I want to draw next week...

Meanwhile...uuuugh, California, why are you failing at every possibly thing lately? Seriously, state, I want to punt you out a window.

I did a zoo drawing day to relax and practice, and while I feel practiced, I don't feel any more relaxed. -_-

Life's a Zoo
[livejournal.com profile] gaelic_bohemian and I got up superearly yesterday to drive down to the San Diego Zoo! Because free passes and swanky animals are worth the long drive.

All in all, a good time was to be had! We took things fairly slow, which was nice, 'cause I got some sketches done. All done with ballpoint:

Sketches inside )

The weather was nice and the crowds were manageable. We went to two of the shows: the myths and lore show, and the sea lion show, both of which were quite cute. Only bad parts were Rei was exhausted from dealing with moving crap, and as for myself, I think I pulled some kind of muscle in my right foot from that beach walk, because since Wednesday my foot has been in an unbelievable amount of pain. D: I pretty much limped around the entire zoo all day. stupid hills. And today it feels just as bad, if not worse. No DDR for me for awhile, because I can't even stand up and walk without a noticeable limp. Nnnnnngghghskjdslf. DX I think it might be Plantar Fasciitis...or at least that sounds like it.

My heart goes out to all of the TP creators and artists affected by the goings-on with the company. All of your stories deserve to be finished and published! Here's hoping that all this means that bigger and better projects of awesome come forth as a result of it.
