Life's a Zoo
[livejournal.com profile] gaelic_bohemian and I got up superearly yesterday to drive down to the San Diego Zoo! Because free passes and swanky animals are worth the long drive.

All in all, a good time was to be had! We took things fairly slow, which was nice, 'cause I got some sketches done. All done with ballpoint:

Photobucket

Early in the day we went to the otter enclosure, and the otters were having a blast swimming up against the glass and playing. They were SO CUTE.

Photobucket

Kinda failed at the okapi, ugh. D: But I liked the red river hogs quite a bit. They had four little baby hogs following around their dad! And I love their tufted ears.

Photobucket

Not nearly as cool as the polar bears themselves, who were engaging in a massive play-fight right up against the glass and causing all the kids to go OOOOOH and AHHHHH. So cool. *_*

Photobucket

Not like it actually held still that long, but in the corner is a lion-tailed macaque. At the myths and legends show there was a big ol' kangaroo, and I also drew emu feet.

Photobucket

Only got one sketch of one of the sea lions. And finally, a skink, which are pretty nifty reptiles. :3

The weather was nice and the crowds were manageable. We went to two of the shows: the myths and lore show, and the sea lion show, both of which were quite cute. Only bad parts were Rei was exhausted from dealing with moving crap, and as for myself, I think I pulled some kind of muscle in my right foot from that beach walk, because since Wednesday my foot has been in an unbelievable amount of pain. D: I pretty much limped around the entire zoo all day. stupid hills. And today it feels just as bad, if not worse. No DDR for me for awhile, because I can't even stand up and walk without a noticeable limp. Nnnnnngghghskjdslf. DX I think it might be Plantar Fasciitis...or at least that sounds like it.

My heart goes out to all of the TP creators and artists affected by the goings-on with the company. All of your stories deserve to be finished and published! Here's hoping that all this means that bigger and better projects of awesome come forth as a result of it.

I really like sharks, and I kinda dig turtles. So I hope you can finish those drawings. ^_^

There was a lynx there, actually (a VERY beautiful animal pacing up and down the cage!) but sadly, I didn't get any drawings of him 'cause we were heading to the show right then.

Yeah, gonna try and finish everything by tomorrow. And yay, glad I'm not the only one who likes sharks a lot! :D

Foot pain like that could also be a mild stress fracture; I'd get it checked out at an urgent care clinic, if you have the time.

Uuurk... *wanted to avoid the doctor if I could* X( I'll see how it's doing a day or two from now, but I hope it's not a stress fracture.
