Anticipation situation
Busy busy busy as always, and these next few weeks will be especially intense. x_x I'm hoping for good news at the end of them, but won't go into it much here for now. However, if I don't post again here for awhile, it's because busy-ness has nommed me.

I've had a terrible urge to make an askblog for awhile now, but I just don't know if I've got the time to do it... T_T

Also, in regards to the latest trailer for KH3D? ALL. MY. SCREAMING. IDK if I'll repeat every point here since I already freaked out in plurk when I first saw it, but AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. WANT TO PLAY THE GAME NOOOOOOWWWWWW.

No new LP since Kia's computer has sadly been busted, but here's more All Hearts and waking-up drawings...

Why should I worry?
I'm going through a whole bunch of anxiety about the future...although a lot of that anxiety will probably kick in later down the road, so IDK if I want to talk about it right now. It will probably come up later in time. I think plurk knows some of that already. :(

Aside from that seemingly-endless worry, I have of course still been busy with art stuff. We'll start with the most recent LP episode, then go into drawings...

I went to Disneyland yesterday, and had a really good drawing day! So, here's a dump of all the life drawing a did, plus a watercolor:

Also, I'm thinking of doing a livestream of how I do All Hearts paintings tomorrow night. Will see how that goes!

Love, Vincent Price
New Lunargyros page is up today; read it here.

Did Disneyland on Sunday with the usual crew, and it was much fun! We were specifically going for all the new rides that just opened. First things first, we did Pirates (which is now featuring Blackbeard at certain points instead of Davy Jones...they use about the same lines anyway, so there's not much difference there). We had reservations at Blue Bayou right after, and finally got a waterside seat, woo! I've always wanted waterside for Blue Bayou. XD

Then it was lining up for Star Tours. The wait time listed two hours, but this was a lie...it was more like 3+ hours. We entertained ourselves as best we could (I brought my PSP and sketchbook), and we did word games, but man after three hours in mostly-sunny queue, it got kinda difficult. (I'm also pretty certain I got sunburned.) Luckily, the ride was worth the wait! There's a bunch of different combinations of places you can go for the revamp, and we ended up getting the pod race in Tatooine and then vs. Boba Fett in the asteroid field. I know a lot of people don't like the Episode I stuff, but I maintain that pod racing is much better suited for a ride or video game than a movie. It was fun! I wanna try and get other planets, as long as we make sure to get a fast pass next time.

We then headed on over to the new Little Mermaid ride in DCA. A much shorter wait, but that could have been because it was a lot later in the day and people were starting to shift over to ElecTRONica. I love how it was built a lot like the oldschool darkrides in Fantasyland, including the not-quite-on-model paintings where you enter the ride. It was fast-moving, basically like getting onto the ride at Haunted Mansion. Very pretty ride with great atmosphere and animatronics. However, Kia and I totally freaked out on it because...OMG INCREDIBLE MR. LIMPET! It's a very obscure reference, but oh man I remember watching that movie a bunch when I was a bitty! Kia spotted him on the other side of the main characters in the "Under the Sea" section, hiding behind some rocks and plants. Seeing Mr. Limpet on the ride totally made my day. XD

After that we hung around ElecTRONica for a bit and then did some shopping. We didn't stay long because line-waiting drained most of our energy. Man, I haven't stood in a line that long at D-Land for a looooooong time. But at least we did what we set out to do!

Also, I went to the doctor yesterday, and it turns out that I do have a sinus infection. XP Yuuuucks. I'm on antibiotics now, so hopefully that will help, but doctor says that I'll probably have balance issues for a couple of weeks. Dumb ears. :P

And random thoughts on E3 conferences so far:
- Really don't care about anything Microsoft is putting out.
- Not that much with Sony, either. The new Uncharted game looks really sweet, but considering the fact that I don't have much fun trying to get through shooters, no sense worrying about it.
- PSVida? Huuuh. I'd rather not have to buy yet ANOTHER console (already getting a 3DS eventually) but hmm we'll see...
- Speaking of, NNNNGH NO KH NEWS. PLEASE GIVE US SOME INFO ON KH3D?!
- Nintendo stole the show again. DAYUM, THAT CONTROLLER. That's some pretty cool stuff. I want to see what they can do with that. (Doubles as a drawing tablet, weee!)
- New Zelda game looks shiny, as does new Smash Bros and everything else they're doing!

A series of unfortunate events
Newest Lunargyros pages are from Friday, and there's two of them available here. I have now officially finished thumbnailing the rest of LG, so I know how many pages are left to do. It's...a really, really weird feeling. @____@

Nnnnngh this has really not been the best of weeks...especially yesterday. X( After all that art test work, I found out that the egg didn't hatch. I was really counting on this one, too, and am more than a little disappointed. Just...for once, I'd like ONE of these eggs to hatch. I've got a full basket of unhatched ones and it's more than a little discouraging.

Yesterday at internship was really busy, which normally is fine, but about half of that time I spent battling LA traffic. I went to go pick up some massive-heavy camera equipment, but couldn't find the place at first because the address was wrong, had to wait forever for them to get the equipment together, had a bunch of communication snafus to make sure I actually had everything, and then when I attempted to return to the studio I tried to reverse the directions to get there and ended up going in a huge circle. It took me like an extra hour or so to finally fumble around until I found the nearest freeway and go from there. This was after a day of mostly cleaning and moving around stuff for their Sunday event.

Aaaand on top of all that, I'm pretty sure I have (or am getting) an ear infection. XC My balance is off and I'll get this world-spinning sensation, particularly when I'm lying in bed or twisting my head to the side. I've also got this pressure in my sinus and throat, and now my ears are starting to hurt on occasion. So this probably means spending money on a doctor's visit (thanks useless insurance), and maybe antibiotics or something. Suck suck suuuuuuck. XP

At least tomorrow should be better, since it's time for another Disneyland trip! We're planning to go on both Star Tours and The Little Mermaid since they just opened/reopened, plus lunch reserved at Blue Bayou. 8D So many goooood things. And since I have a shiny smart phone now, I can do posties about it from Disneyland itself!

Finally, here's a bunch of waking-up drawings...

Another Tsunami Post
Just FYI for friends: yes we live on the coast, but my family and me are fine. I think the tsunami wave was only supposed to be about 3-4 feet high by the time it got here, and that's not going to be an issue unless you're actually on the beach. So we are all okay.

But man, my heart totally goes out to everyone in Japan. DDDD: The news out of there is just awful!

Also, more FYI: I may not be around as much this next week; got a massive huge project that came up suddenly and that I really need to get done. @_@

DOUBLE RAINBOWS
I just took Sunshine outside for a walk even though it was raining some, and there was this huuuuuge double rainbow stretching all the way from the top of the mountain down into the valley. OMG, it was soooo pretty. *___* I wish I had a camera good enough to show it.

I took apart my keyboard and gave it a detailed and thorough scrubbing, but no good...the borked keys still wouldn't work. :( Also I keep saying 'keyblade' instead of 'keyboard,' fffffff So, now I'm just using the spare one I had. It's a lot smaller and more compact, so it'll take some getting used to. Feh!

We're doing our Christmas tonight, since parents will be leaving for overseas tomorrow. Yay, presents!

Staggers from one commercial break to another
There's a new Lunargyros page up today, read it here.

Sunshine is back home from the vet today...she was bitten on the nose by a rattlesnake yesterday. 8((( Luckily, my bro caught it early and was able to run her down to the vet in about 15 minutes. They got her on an IV drip with antivenin real fast. Luckily she was able to get home fairly soon, but she's still recovering very slowly...she's very tired and her face is puffy, and she's been having a lot of trouble walking. She keeps tripping over her back feet, and it takes a lot of effort for her to take any steps. I just really hope she gets better soon. ._.

Also got to hang out with [livejournal.com profile] ghettopeach and [livejournal.com profile] sbcpanuru, who I haven't seen in a loooong time, so it was awesome to get to hang out with him again! We had delicious seafood and watched MST3K.

Otherwise, today was kinda slow and upsetting. I'm still sitting on the egg and worrying about the dog, mostly.

Still waiting for the eggs to hatch, although one now has a big crack in it. Er...something with that metaphor. Man this is nerve-wracking...

Hey, so my 'rents are out of state for pretty much the next week or so...having fun up in Iowa. Since my little bro is often a busy dude himself, this leaves me alone in the house for the weekend. Does anyone want to come down and hang with me awhile Saturday and/or Sunday? Bring your swimsuit and we'll go to the hot tub! I'll make you pizza and we'll watch MST3K! Please let me know! ♥

I wish I had art to post
Oof, this upcoming weekend and the weeks following it should be fairly busy. Not as busy as July, but towing it along pretty busily regardless.

I promised a dude at church that I would help out on Sunday by doing a series of paintings (with at least one other person, it looks like) to help illustrate the sermon he's doing. Now looking towards it, I'm a little bit nervous about it...they're relatively large paintings, that have to be done in a fairly short timeframe (while the sermon is being given), in front of the entire congregation (when I very rarely make it to church nowadays anyway, and when I do, tend to make myself quiet), and at both early and late service. 8< So errg...yeah, I hope that goes well.

In only somewhat related news, I can't believe I've been missing reading Slacktivist for this long!

And then after both services on Sunday, it looks like I'm going with the family up to Bakersfield for the rest of the day. And considering the very long phone conversation my mom had with my aunt yesterday, I don't think it will be for Good Reasons. -_-

Also, it looks like the rental car I've been using we'll have to give back on Monday...but I haven't heard anything on getting the money for my new car yet. Considering the fact that my brother is leaving for Texas soon, that will leave two cars (one of which I can't drive because it's a stick) for four drivers in the household, all with their own jobs and schedules. This is not going to be easy. 8(

Still mulling over that RP idea, but I'm probably going to give it a lot of time/thought...

Drawing: LG all day yesterday and more today...I'm expecting to do a double-update month in August! Also, started a fanart that I won't be able to show for awhile.

YouTube needs to work better
I have never cared much about Marvel vs Capcom before, but DAYUM, I would sooo play the newest one just for THIS:

And man I want that sweet techno mix of 'The Sun Rises.' 8D

Last night [livejournal.com profile] yamikonumber7 and I went out to meet [livejournal.com profile] rebmakash at the Santa Monica Pier! I'd actually never been before, despite having lived here for years, oops. We had a ton of fun hanging out...ate at Bubba Gump's, walked all the way to the end of the pier and took photos, spent some time walking around the beach, played skeeball, whack-a-mole, pinball and DDR at the arcade, and just geeked around and had an awesome time. I'm super glad we got to go!

Also
I very suddenly have almost 20 pages written of ideas/plans for a new RP that would be really fun to do

But I don't have the time to play in a game, let alone mod a new one! AAAAH WHYYYYY ARE YOU DOING THIS, SELF

Movies, and a short car eulogy
First things first: two new Lunargyros pages, you can read 'em here.

Well, I have sent [livejournal.com profile] purapea on her way today, so the room is empty of friends once again. THANK YOU FOR VISITING, PURA, YOU WERE TOTALLY AWESOME TO HAVE AND I WOULD DO IT AGAIN ANYTIME ♥♥♥ *huuuugs* Also gonna hang with [livejournal.com profile] yamikonumber7 and [livejournal.com profile] rebmakash today while she's still in Cali, so more funness tonight!

I've decided what movies I'm going to watch through the month of August. Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! Tried to go with what is cheapest; couldn't find everything on YouTube, but we'll see. I may or may not do random thoughts on them while I'm watching throughout the month.

Full list here )

Also, the verdict is in, and apparently my car is completely totaled...it's not worth the cost to repair it. :( Which means I'm going to have to say goodbye to Falcon, and when the time/insurance money is available, go shopping for a new car...

I will miss Falcon Peak greatly. It's never given me much grief, and has been faithful through the rest of my schooling at Gnomon, many trips to Disneyland and other cons, and late-night food and airport runs. Great engine gummis gave it a lot of pep for such a small car. We planned so much of Daisychain, especially lots of the endgame, while in Falcon Peak. It was a source of all sorts of creative brainstorming, and was patient through my constant motormouth syndrome. I'm sorry it had to end this way, Falcon...you will be missed. :(

Hey dudes, just an FYI, you are unlikely to see me around the internets (especially AIM) for the next two weeks or so! Awesome folk [livejournal.com profile] purapea and [livejournal.com profile] ggmoonycrisco are coming over, so we'll be romping about California and Disneyland and other fun things in the next few days! And then next week is Comic Con (AAAAAAAA) so we'll be away at that and I don't have computery things there.

Also I will be 26 in three days I am so old and wrinkly aaaaaaaaaaaaa

I really must be, because I feel like I've been fwapped with the tired stick. Pretty sure I'm getting enough sleep, so it's not about that. Maybe it's the sudden heat...the July gloom FINALLY burned off yesterday, so now it's getting to be really hot. Here's hoping traffic and crowds are kind on Saturday!

I am not your cheesesteak!
Yesterday was a pretty busy day! My mom's family came up for father's day, and we had a huge lunch with steak and roasted potatoes and all sorts of other goodness. This may be the last time that my grandparents come all the way up here, or at least my grandpa, so I'm glad they got the chance to.

After that I went up to [Unknown site tag]'s birthday party, which was awesome funtimes! Had delicious food (I had red velvet cake twice in one day from two different groups, what are the odds), did a bunch of fun games and got to chat with a bunch of friends that I haven't seen in forever. Totally my kind of laid-back, not-noisy, geeky party with people whose company I enjoy. :D

And then I woke up early this morning to go swimming...only to learn that they've drained the pool. And it probably won't be fixed again for at least a week. 8| Argh, there goes a week's worth of trying to develop this habit more...

Finally, so I decided that I wanted to try drawing the main characters from the Destiny Islands fic I just finished:

Responsibility Doesn't Pay
Whole lot of cursing about insurance here, watch out )

In barely-slightly-vaguely related news, I think I'm going to try and start swimming every day that I can. The weather's been pretty nice, I've got a good swimsuit that doesn't get nearly enough use, I like to swim, and swimming is supposed to be one of the best exercises you can do. Losing a little weight would be nice, but first and foremost I just need to be more fit. I just need to get off my lazy butt and do it. Maybe tomorrow or Saturday I can start.

Also, I now have almost 15 pages worth of notes for an Okami speed run that I ironically do not have time for. D8 SOMEONE PLEASE STOP MEEEEEEEE

Week of Epic
PHEW. It's been awhile, but I'm back on now! This past week with [livejournal.com profile] princealia and [livejournal.com profile] dorkage was pretty dang awesome, but busy! We did most everything that we could...toured around the campus, went to the beach (it was way too windy, WTF Cali), and other locations in Malibu. Sorry the hills tried to kill you, Shi and Diane. D: We also drove through the big studio areas of Burbank, and walked around Hollywood near Gnomon a bit, where they got to see the megatheaters and all the Hollywood crazies. 8D We got lunches at the Disney soda foundtain and actually went to see Oceans at the El Capitan. Aaaah it was so pretty; I love the ocean and sharks and watery things. Also, they had a preview for Tron Legacy, and DAAAAAYUM. I hadn't seen this preview before (I just saw the teaser) and I am all over that movie when it comes out. It looks epic.

Sunday and Monday we did California Adventure and D-Land back to back, and managed to get to everything that we wanted to do, including California Screamin', the Aladdin musical spectacular (got really good seats for that!), Indiana Jones, and dinner at Blue Bayou. Pretty exhausting by the time we were done, but definitely good times. [livejournal.com profile] yamikonumber7 also joined us for the D-Land day, so we were able to run around with a party of four. And now for full park comparisons, I just need to get out to WDW sometime! XD

Since all three of us also had Days, we also tried out multiplayer mode for it. OMG, there was so much LOLing it was ridiculous. Days is definitely a laugh riot with multiple people playing together, if for no other reason than what the characters do when they win (or lose) a mission. I need to do that again sometime!

Well that's the short version of this week since I'm not a big photo-taker and I most often served as host/tour guide, but yes, it was a ton of fun! We did lots and procured many nice things! Hopefully we can do it again in the future. ♥

Not much time to rest, though...I've got work early tomorrow, a lunch meeting on Friday, and I really need to get back into the art swing. There's like five different things I want to work on. 8P

There's also a new Lunargyros page, up here.

Drawing: A bunch of different things; crossing fingers for some potential work.

Ahhhh life
Well this has been an interesting morning. So, I got up early to get over to Gnomon for life drawing with John's class and then working on some more models. Only, when I got there, I discovered that the LA Marathon was going on and they had blocked off Hollywood Blvd. Since I have to actually cross Hollywood in order to get to Gnomon, this proved difficult. I drove around for almost half an hour searching for a cross street before I finally gave up and went to drive back home. The only other way I could think to get there would be to come from the opposite direction from PCH, but by then the class would practically be over anyway.

So I was on my way back home, and heading through Malibu Canyon when all of a sudden a motorcyclist coming from the opposite direction takes a spill at 50 MPH on one of the nastier curves and goes sliding across the road. My initial reaction was something like this:

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Luckily, the driver was okay...hurt leg, but she could stand on it, and was more shaken up than anything. The bike received the brunt of the damage, which is a shame 'cause it was a nice bike. I was last in line of about four other people who saw it and all stopped, which was extra good because there were some guys able to move the bike off the road and offer ice packs and such. We stayed around until the police showed up and said we were good to go. But MAN, that scared the living bejeebus out of me. I've never actually seen a motorcycle accident occur before, and I hope to not see one again. The driver was just really lucky, and especially lucky that she didn't collide with any of us going the opposite direction. D:

So uh...guess I'll go work on some LG now instead. @_@ And at least I'll be at D-Land with Rei tomorrow, so that will be fun!

Uhh, does anyone know if something wonky happened while LJ was down yesterday? All of my icons are now showing only my default, at least on previous entries. o_oa

And also: congratulations to [livejournal.com profile] bookworm12890 for winning the [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti auction, and thanks for donating! :D Should be sending that fanart along soon. Also, if you wanted a piece from me but missed this auction, I think there should be a second round in about a month or so.

Speaking of Haiti, I've felt this strong urge to rant on politics lately, but I'm trying to avoid it...talking with dad doesn't help, because he's so good at giving me Biblical/religious backing for what I believe. |D

I just got back from lunch with a ton of my Gnomon friends over in Glendale.
