It's Universal
So, today the family and I went out to Universal Studios Hollywood! While I'd been to the Citywalk in recent years, I hadn't been to the actual park since I was about five years old. And all in all, it was fun, if not short! We seriously went on or saw just about everything. XD

- EVERY SINGLE THING IN THIS PARK SQUIRTS WATER AT YOU. NOT EVEN KIDDING. If you're strolling down the sidewalk, there's posts misting water at you. There's a Curious George water park for kids. There's other cool-off spots that were Coke-themed. And pretty much every single ride squirted water at you at some point or other except for maybe...two of the shows. I mean, in this case it was okay since it was a pretty hot day (pretty sure I got a sunburn), but NOT EVERYTHING IN THE PARK NEEDS TO BE THROWING WATER AT YOUR FACE. Maybe they turn that stuff off on cooler days.
- We did the full studio tour ride first, which was probably the main attraction there, and was fun! We also did the 360 King Kong part, which was pretty cool. I could see a few parts where they changed it back from an earlier movie or version of the ride, like the Mummy section. But still, probably the most informative part of the park.
- Also did the Simpsons ride, which was actually really funny. Lot of clever jokes in that. Of course, I grew up watching The Simpsons with my family, so that was something we could all get in on together as far as jokes went. I do wish they hadn't taken out the Back to the Future ride, though.
- We did all of the shows...the Waterworld show was a lot of fun, great stunts, although you could tell which people were actors and which were stuntmen normally. XD And my mom got this awesome picture of the plane exploding over the set. The animal show was also a lot of fun, just because I looooove animals, although it seems some of the animals were not having a good training day. XD There was this adorable little fox, but he was obviously distracted from what he was supposed to be doing. The special effects show was also cute, although I was surprised that they didn't warn for some things in the show (like simulating sawing a person's arm off on stage. What if an audience member had a fear of blood?)
- We did the House of Horrors attraction, which was basically a haunted house walkthrough with a lot of famous monster movies. I thought the most unsettling part was the Psycho section, which was all distorted mirrors. I was just amused at the rest of it...there were two girls in front of us, who were screaming at every single actor that jumped out to scare people in the walkthrough. Those performers really must've honed in on those girls, because they were constantly jumping out on them while the rest of my family were just laughing. At one point a Texas Chainsaw Massacre guy leaped out to scare them, and one of the girls just leaped backwards into me and just would not move. No apologizing for the bumping or anything, just screaming and attempting to find shelter in my boobs.
- We went down and went to The Mummy roller coaster, which was...kinda disappointing. It started out all awesome, I was just getting into it and going all WOOOOOOOOOO...and then the ride went backwards and ended. Seriously, why so short? Also, the line coming up gave me reeeeeally strong Indy vibes. >>
- We did Jurassic Park last, and I didn't get that wet since I was pretty much sitting in the dead center of the boat. Still, that ride was fun! The T-Rex at the end was especially epic. I am definitely down with more dinosaurs in my life.
- Also ate dinner at Bubba Gump, which was good because mmmmm I love coconut shrimp. Pretty much went home straight after instead of going shopping in the Citywalk, which was weird because usually mom is the one who wants to go shopping and I'm the one who wants to go home. XD But we felt like we'd gotten our whole experience in! I'm used to D-Land and DCA, so it felt like it was a lot shorter than the normal for a theme park, but it was nice to run around on for just a day. And I do not mind chilling with my family. XD

And here's just one waking-up drawing today:
