Your point about politics is well-taken. It's been a while since I've seen the movie, so I forgot about all that. Anyway, the divisions between politics and religion are not as clear as a lot of people think...many things that are true for one are just as true for the other (the use of power, the demonization of those who disagree, the tendency to want to create lots of little niches, etc.).
