Model madness (but not really)
Since I think one or two people asked, here's a height comparison for Sora, Riku and Kairi using those models:

This is, again, based off the presumption that they're all proportional to one another, which I think they are. can't get a good view from the front without some tweaking, which I can do if dudes want it. :D
I'm not really sure how to make them look less polygon-y...smoothing doesn't do much. Maybe it's just the shading and I need to change the Blinns to Lamberts. Maybe it's just the renderers that take care of stuff like that!

Progress on the skeleton for Kairi. I think it's okay so far, but I've still got everything sticking in the wrong places! (paricularly for her hair.) My teacher for last term's game texturing class said he usually rigs skeletons by assigning specific verts to specific joints, instead of trying to let the computer figure it out, so if I can figure out how to do that method, maybe that'll work. :o

Obviously, not very far on lion!Sora. I'm gonna work on that more now in the hour before Production Design. :3

Had our first Visual Structure class yesterday, and it looks like I'm actually going to enjoy that class...it's essentially a world-building and story design class. XD Just gotta pick my story!...

In slightly less geeky times, I hung with [livejournal.com profile] sir_snarksalot most of the day on Friday and painted one of the walls in her band classroom. I painted some scales down the length of the wall and different kinds of notes above that. Those kinds of things always take longer than you assume, so it probably took five to six hours from start to finish. I was still sore on Saturday from all that painting concentration! But despite this, it was fun, as [livejournal.com profile] sir_snarksalot and I just chilled and talked about jobs, education, Disney movies, KH, whathaveyou while we worked. XD I hope her students like it!

Drawing: The usual, but homeworks are comin' up fast...

Writing: Finished some sporking, otherwise, more notes.

Oohhh, yes! Thank you! :O!!!! Math isn't my strongest subject, but I'll give it a whirl. xDDD

*Cracks knuckles* Okay, by using the rulers on Photoshop, I measure Riku to be about seven and a half inches tall. Sora measures (not including the tip of his hair at the top) about six and a half inches. Someone else calculated Sora to be about 56 inches, so..

...I calculate Riku to be about 64 or 65 inches tall, or about 5'4". Whoa. if they're proportionate, Riku's taller than Aerith!

For funsies, I calculate Kairi to be about 55 inches, or 4'7". My math could be totally off, though. xDDDD

4'7" Jesus Christ she's tinier than Rukia. And I'm as tall as Riku.

......wtfffffffffff.

Frankly, I don't trust Japanese height measurements. According to the official heights for the characters in the Silent Mobius series, none of the characters are over 5'5", yet they look much taller in the series. I have no clue why, but I think they always skew character heights too short in Japan in comparison to what they actually should be. :O

its okay if Kairi is tiny. if she's proportionally right then she's fine. also if her doctor says she's a healthy bodyweight.

*sniffs*

*steps off of soapbox*

anyway, they look cool :)
