I R BACK.
I am 23 years old today! :D Woot!

Disneyland is 52 years old today! More woot!

There is a new page of Lunargyros up! ...Fuzzy woot?!

Dunno what I'll be doing about b-day stuff today, aside from trying to cram texturing and surfaces and polys into my brain and failing miserably. But I should hopefully be doing something or other Thursday and/or Friday.

Anyways, the weekend away was fun, and quite relaxing! I spent the vast majority of it working on comic pages while watching movies and playing Heroes III with my little bro and cousin at the same time. SHUT UP, that IS relaxing for me! The drive up both there and back was long, although it was a little longer going to it, as there was some huge accident up close to Tahoe on the one-lane-only mountain road, so we literally just shut off our engines and didn't move for half an hour. D: Luckily, I brought HBP with me, and read through nearly two-thirds of the thing just on the trip up alone. XD Now I'm so ready for Deathly Hallows this Friday, oh yeah!

We got a vacation house up there for all to share, and it was pretty swanky. It was spacious, not too hot (except at night) and there was this hugearse game room in the basement with a big-screen TV, spa, a pool table, fusball table, gambling table and air hockey table. Hells yes! So myself and all of the younger siblings and cousins (which was everyone, considering I'm the oldest...) spent a lot of our time just chilling down there. Otherwise, we were visiting with family and extended family (many of whom I don't ever remember meeting before, whoops...) which was fine in of itself. I didn't visit that much, but mostly people just asked me about my schooling, anyway. Yay, not having to worry about discussing politics or religion with relatives who may be appalled with my opinions!

I think I've also come to realize why I like mocking and making with funny so often...it's inherited. Just about no one related to me can stand to take anything seriously for more than five minutes at a time. My mom and her siblings spent a lot of time telling stories about the horrible pranks they used to play on each other, and my cousins and siblings and I just about laughed our faces off. I'm glad that the experience wasn't this whole uptight walk-on-eggshells ordeal that family reunions sometimes are.

We also had some reeeeeally good food. For the big celebration on Saturday, we went out to eat at this nice restaurant called Riva Grill; the kind of place where you have to dress up a bit. As everything was pre-paid for, we had three choices for our main dish: filet mignon, applewood-roasted chicken, or sole stuffed with lobster and crab. HELLS YES. I think I was one of two who got the chicken (most people went for the mignon first and the seafood second) but it was extreeeeemely good chicken nonetheless and I was very satisfied with dinner. And then we got coconut and pineapple creme brulee for dessert, yum!

All things considered we didn't do much in Tahoe itself, but we did go down to the lake on Sunday and found this great spot on the pier for a picnic (the beaches were really crowded, as you can imagine.) Didn't get in the water, but my litter brother did dive in to save some other old guy's remote control boat stuck in the weeds. Lollercoasters. We also drove around the foresty area a lot, including some places where a big fire destroyed more than two hundred homes just a few weeks ago. D: Uuugh, it was so creepy to see the burnt-out cars and homes...I hate fire! But also, just about every shop and home we passed had a big THANK YOU FIREFIGHTERS sign out on their lawn or window, so I thought that was rather neat.

Also, one thing I did quite a lot of there was sleeeeeeeeep. Had to share a room with my aunt, but she's not a bad roommate by any means. I did have some really weird dreams, though. Two in particular seemed to involve space, and since the image stayed in my head when I woke up, I decided to sketch part of it:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

It was like this spaceship was trying to reach somewhere (the moon?) but these huge waves of space trash all interlocking together kept trying to crash over it. The black and white leaves out that these blocks were all brightly colored, like legos, and also the dream felt more...sinister than this looks, I dunno.
The other half of the dream involved some space-like ride at Disneyland, piloted by a real astronaut crew. Except something went horribly wrong on the ride, and everyone but the pilot of the ride suffocated after plunging a bajillion feet and then also...drowned in the spaceship? I don't pretend to understand it. So Disneyland basically sealed off where the ride was and condemned the place, but without even removing the bodies from this crashed spaceship full of water! And then for some other reason, the Stargate: Atlantis crew showed up to investigate what went wrong with the ride, against Disneyland's orders. That part confused me the most when I woke up, considering I haven't watched SGA in years. o_o

It's also the first time I've remembered dreams well enough to keep images from them in awhile. Maybe that's why I suddenly got this urge to do something more with the "Pool Room 4" story? No clue.

Anywhos, I am now back, and probably going to keel over trying to catch up with schoolwork and such. Also, I still really want to go see Transformers, as I keep hearing so many good things about it! D: And I'm kinda sad, because they're starting to take down the scaffolding from that huge skyscraper on the corner of Sunset and Vine with the ginormous Transformers ad! Dangit, I kinda liked being able to drive down Vine and see TRANSFORMERS in letters THE SIZE OF A BUILDING. Although having a picture of Optimus Prime the size of a skyscraper would've been cooler, I imagine.

Drawing: Finished inking five comic pages total over the weekend, heck yes!

Writing: Also finished another chapter of MWWBK on paper!

Happy Birthday, my FFXII buddy! I hope you have a good one despite the schoolwork. I spent mine in GA, visiting my brother four times a day in the burn unit there. I'm going back in fourteen days though. I can't wait to see him! I've heard that Transformers is really good, so I'm trying to debate whether to go see that or Harry Potter, cause I only like to spend ten dollars on a movie about once every four months. I think I might just save up for the new Harry Potter book instead.

Urk, that is a toughie! The new HP movie is pretty good, but if I had to chose, I'd probably just go for the new book.
