NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
My tablet! My poor tablet...it has died, and I think this time, it will not be revived!
It was conking about before, where the screen just wouldn't respond to any pen movements. I would usually just unplug and then replug in the tablet, and it would keep working again. But when I picked it up today to do coloring, it wouldn't respond at all. I tried unplugging and replugging it in multiple times, but then this time, even the orange light wouldn't come on! I scoured the Wacom site FAQ, and there was nothing there on what to do if your tablet suddenly shuts off completely. And the tablet is waaay past its warranty, so trying to get repairs for it wouldn't really work.
But once I thought about that warranty, I realized my tablet was a whole five years old! Even older than my current computer! All those times it kept dying on me, especially whenever I tried to untwist the cord, were just signs that it was getting too old to keep going. So, I guess it's died of old age, as most technology nowadays doesn't live much longer than four years, anyway. ._.
It makes me so sad...I've had this tablet all throughout my college years. I first got it as an early graduation present, because I got Carpal Tunnel Syndrome from working on Snow Phoenix so much. So this tablet helped me finish Snow Phoenix! It survived having one of the cats spill coffee on it! It's gone through two moves! But now it's dead, and I feel like I've lost a pet. ;_;
And, since I really depend on my tablet and I use it practically on a daily basis...I headed on over to Wacom to buy a new one. I'm getting a 6x8 Intuos 3, so it'll be one or two sizes down from my old 9x12 Intuos 2. Hopefully I'll be able to adapt to the smaller size quickly; I'm so used to having lots of arm space.
Also, since a new tablet is going to put me out a couple hundred dollars, and right around the holidays...
PLEASE COMMISSION ME!
Look, look! Prices are even lower now, becauseI am a h0r! -->
Sketch and/or inked picture - $5.00
Full-color picture (CG) - $12.00
Full-color picture (traditional) - $18.00
All of those are for pics with either one or two characters. For each additional character (i.e three or more), add $3.00.
You'll get a high-res version over email no matter what. Whether or not the pic is displayed in my gallery is up to you. If you'd like a print mailed to you (high-quality, glossy photo finish) then add the cost of printing and shipping onto the original price.
If you'd like the originai mailed to you (i.e. the actual paper I draw on), the price automatically triples.
Obviously, uh, I can't do any CG color pictures until my new tablet comes. ;_; But I can still do sketches, inks or traditional colored pencil pictures! So come on and comment, or IM me, or drop a note! It would be greatly appreciated!
I miss my old tablet... T_T
