Well, my last day of work was Friday. My supervisor was really nice and threw a lunch party for me, including pizza, lemon cake, soda, Kettle Corn and chips! And I got to take a lot of it home! I felt so loved. ;_; I hoped my boss at any future jobs is as nice and accomodating as Lynn was.
Speaking of...now it's jobhunting time, arrgh! And thusfar, my choices seem to be a) small and crummy job in reception/retail/etc., b) Keep taking classes at GNOMON or shell out the 45 grand for their certificate program just so I can feel qualified for the craploads of 3D animation jobs I keep finding, or c) assume Tokyopop will get back to me sometime this century. Mmrrgh. But, it's only the first day of looking, there's still lots left to go...
Halloween's tomorrow! I have no costume, oh well. D: I'll probably just chill with friends and pass out candy to all the kids; I think we're all too tired to organize some big extravagant party. Maybe I should go to Wal-Mart for more candy; the candy they had at Ralphs was pretty pathetic.
Oooh, and I finally was able to download Manga Studio! :D I'm not sure if I actually installed the thing correctly, since every time I open the program it asks for the license number and then tut-tuts me for not having all of the correct system requirements (but runs anyway.) I played around with it some yesterday, although I can tell I still have a lot to learn. I'm shocked by how much control the program gives you when inking with a tablet! Much more sensetive than PS7 is. It seems kind of odd that every tone becomes its own layer, though. And when I tried to import BMPs, the program took forever and didn't seem to like it much. It tended to fuzz out in other ways, too.
So, does anyone who knows Manga Studio 3.0 well have any tips for beginners? Or should I just scour Ouch's tutorials on her site for anything I need to know? Mostly, I'm trying to figure out how to import my Lunargyros page files at the size they are, instead of starting out with a template and then putting imported files on top of that. I'm used to how file size equals dpi equals size on screen equals print size etc. in PS7, but they seem to work differently in MS. Any thoughts are appreciated!
EDIT: Oh, and if anyone's interested... Here is a picture of the lava my mom almost fell in.
Drawing: LG pages, and I'll start two big projects today! I hope they turn out well!
Writing: I had a fic I was gonna spork, but the funny wasn't coming like I wanted. Maybe I should take a break from that for awhile, and work on LW more.
