And so, it ends.
Wow...was supposed to post awhile ago, but I got distracted. :P (That seems to happen often...)

The big thing is...I am now graduated! :O It all seems terribly surreal right now, but as far as graduations go, this one turned out quite well. No administration ninjas leaped out to say I did something wrong and that I couldn't walk, so that must mean I at least passed my classes. Got my cap and gown and complimentary alumni junk (hey, some coupons!) A TON of my family showed up! Both sets of grandparents, plus my aunt and two of my cousins were able to make it. It was actually really nice having everyone over! There were lots of big lunches/dinners to be had...first spaghetti on Friday night, and then we had take-out from Wood Ranch BBQ on Saturday, which is daaaamn good.

The actual ceremony on Saturday went pretty smoothly! The weather wasn't burning me to a crispy toast, since it was overcast. But it was a little weird...I was still sweating hot down in the seats with that dang black polyester robe on, while my roommates were freezing to death in the top rows of the bleachers. There was seriously a ten-degree difference between the two! And I still got a bit sunburned... But I basically kinda spazzed out and stared off into space for most of the ceremony, and it went by a lot quicker than I anticipated. Our speaker wasn't half-bad, either. I kinda rolled my eyes at seeing that he was the CEO of GE, but he was actually quite funny and had some good things to say. The speaker at baccalaureate (sp?) was also good...basically saying "yeah, you're graduating from college, but unlike your parents and grandparents, you've got no guarantees for any stable job! You're screwed, but good luck anyway! :D" At least some adults can be honest.

Afterwards, I met up with first my friends and then my family and we took tons of pictures. Everyone was there...even [livejournal.com profile] xanmuse and [livejournal.com profile] sharamordinae made it! It was so great to see you guys! ^^ And I was going to post said pictures here, but I haven't been able to get ahold of them yet! Will post a bunch of those once I actually get my hands on them. *hopes they came out at least decent* And after said ceremony we had that aforementioned Wood Ranch BBQ lunch, from which I took leftovers home, where we watched the new Doctor Who (which is a hilarious and awesome show!) and did other crazy stuff. As per tradition, on Sunday we went to Yamatos...mmmm, always yummy!

Also...presents! Swanky! Didn't give people much fair warning, so I got small things, but it was all good things! 'Manos: the Hands of Fate' MST is in the mail (wooo!) and I also got Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit (OH YEAH), Howl's Moving Castle, and the first disc of Avatar: The Last Airbender on DVD! I'd never seen Avatar before, but I watched the first two episodes and enjoyed them! Perhaps trying too hard to be "anime," especially with the four-elements storyline and some of their actions, but the characters were cute and enjoyable.

Mostly? I got money. Like...a ridiculous amount of money. More-than-twice-what-I-currently-have-in-checking kind of ridiculous. O_O It shocked the pants off me! Considering my paycheck usually comes in hundreds, this was somehow amazing to me. However! All this money is going towards a very specific purpose, and that is...a car! People just don't have the funds to afford a whole car right now, but this is at least a start! I'm hoping to get a new car before the end of the summer. I really really need one, as the car I'm using now (which isn't even mine) is over ten years old and starting to really wear down. The check-engine light's been on for awhile, and this was just AFTER a few hundred dollars was plunked down on the car to get the emissions cap fixed, or whatever the heck was wrong with it. *Is an Automobile Idiot* In any case, my old car is nearing its dying days, so I need a new one. My mom was suggesting the Toyota Yaris to me, and it looks pretty nice. Mostly I *want* something that has excellent gas mileage, especially with prices being FRICKIN' THREE AND A HALF DOLLARS A GALLON now...and supposedly, the Yaris gets between 30-39 mpg. I would so totally buy an electric car or one of those new ethanol cars if 1) they weren't so expensive, 2) they weren't so unsafe, and 3) there were actually places to refuel them. *shakes fist at oil companies* I'd even buy a SmartCar, like they have in Europe, if I didn't know I would be smooshed flat as a pancake if I ever got in a wreck, especially with huge-ass compensation monster trucks Hummers rolling around California.
But first, I need some more money to actually afford a car! So here's hoping I find some better jobstuffes. But if I do get a Yaris, I'll be the first person in my family to own a new car since, uh...ever! All we ever get is used cars, which is great, although it'd be beyond swanky to get a brand-new, fresh car at least once in my life. ^^

I was really afraid of the whole post-graduation woes that I knew all my friends experienced...but so far, I've only felt them mildly. Maybe because I've been ignoring them? Maybe because I didn't have as rough a transitional period? I did have to move rooms, so I'm now fully moved in with [livejournal.com profile] ghettopeach, but so far that's worked out okay. Darned if I know where any of my stuff is now, though. One of these days I need to get a ton of folders and organize all of the loose doodles and sketches I keep (go figure for not throwing anything away...) At least the important things, like the computer, the twizzlers and uh, my bed are in places I can find them!

Still don't have a job beyond the temp work at operator, which I just went to fill out W-4s and I-9s for. I do need to start applying more places. Strangely, I'm not so worried about it. Although it does require me getting up and sending stuff places. *wishes she could hear back from TP, nygggggh!* And heh, I just finish school, and I'm already thinking of going back for more work...it's something I really need to think over, though, as it will be expensive no matter what. Perhaps quite useful, though; we'll see.

Serious stuff's out of the way...KH2 babble time!

I started a game on Proud mode, and wasted pretty much all of yesterday playing. XD It is dang hard...like the entire game is the last round of the Hades Cup, in that everybody does a ton of damage to you. o_O I've died frequently, even at very mundane points, but still managed to get through! (By the way...Ping = USELESS) Mickey also saved my ass a few times, because he is awesomer than everything. XD

And shockingly, I've been doing gummi missions! And I normally hate the gummi ship! Some of them I totally fail at, but a few I've gotten Rank Level S on, so I got the Tonberry and Moogle model ships! Haven't tried the Moogle ship yet, but aside from having unbelievable defense, the Tonberry ship is near useless. And I've already gotten Highwind Lvl. 8 (when normally I don't get that model until right before the Assault of the Dreadnaught), Falcon Lvl. 5 and Invincible Lvl. 5. I might even try building my own gummi ship, that is, if the gummi-building interface doesn't make me want to hang myself with a PS2 controller cord. /geekout

Also, Sora in Antiform in Timeless River = CUTEST THING EVAR. I seriously want to draw that now...

Ohhh! And, the fic of hilarity has updated! *runs off to read*

Operator status: It's that time of the year again! That magical week wherein the campus is suddenly full of lectureship visitors, most of whom are either a) over the age of 50, b) have a Southern accent, or c) both. Yeeup. (See, it's already affecting me! Ahhhh!)

Drawing: Finished inking fanart! I need to draw more on that other pitch, because it never ever hurts to be prepared. And I'm also considering opening myself up for commissions, but I need to figure out/think a little a more about it. Hmmm...

Writing: Finished a scene for big genfic! More ficthings, basically...

I've FINALLY got (I mean borrowed) the game from someone so I'll probably go back and read your spoilerish posts once I've finished the game.

Dang it if I had known that you can get the ultimate ending on any of the modes I wouldn't have started off with proud mode. But so far I'm at the Beast's Castle a 2nd time and fighting off that Organization dude (I used to be stuck at the Tron racing game for the fail). What's the key to beating him? LOL

Weee, glad you finally got it! Actually, you can only get the secret ending in Standard or Proud mode...you can't get it in Beginner Mode. And to get it in Standard, you have to fill out Jiminy's Journal *completely,* which is *very* time-consuming and difficult at points.

Eeek, you're fighting Xaldin now! :O He is really frickin' hard, even on easier modes...mostly I'd say, use reaction commands when they're available (learn/jump in particular is useful), run like hell when he turns his spears into a dragon, and hope Mickey pops in to save you at some point? o_O

Thanks for da tips! It helped and I'm moving onward! LOL

I guess I have to fill out the journal completely on Proud mode too eh? ;_;

Nope! For Proud Mode, you just have to finish off all the worlds (which I guess would include Atlantica and 100 Acre Wood). But to my understanding, the journal doesn't have to be done!

Ooooh... yet another person to feel jealous of who's all done with school. ^_^ Congrats! Heh... are you gonna join me in those long-ass portfolio review lines at Comic-con this year?

And I recently started KH2 (finally!) in standard mode. ^_^ And since I'm spoiler-girl, it's a good thing I read the CoM transcript and spoilers you posted... Or I wouldn't have known what the hell was going on in the intro and the first few hours of the game. I'm such a dork though... I swear, I was tearing up during the opening cinematic. XD

Anyway, I gots a lot of drawing to do today, but tonight, I'm gonna tackle Tron world. ^_^

I must likely will be joining you! XD I really needs me a job in art/gaming/animation/whathaveyou, so Comic-con's as good a place to start as any. Don't suppose you have any good portfolio tips? *is a little nervous about that*

Weeeee finally starting! XD Standard Mode is not terribly different from Beginners, so it's a good place to start. And yeah, I don't know what I would've done during the entire intro if I didn't know what happened in CoM. And I totally almost teared up at the intro and ending movies!

Tron's world = WIN
