Yes, it's true, I finally got the dang thing done! You can read the Goblet of Fire puppet show here. Hopefully it came out okay. There were two broken image tags that I managed to fix without having to wait until I got home (thankfully) so everything should be working. Hooray for getting that one done! I hope the peoples like it. XD
Holy cow, this weekend has all-around been super-busy! Amazingly I haven't run out of energy yet, and am still going strong, even waking up earlier than I intend to most days. I've barely even given a thought to school, even though I technically still have two finals this week. It feels like the semester's already over. If I do a bit of studying here and there, I should be okay...I'm not terribly worried about doing poorly on either of them. The PolySci one is tomorrow, and the one on Poe is Thursday, and then I'll be completely freeee!
Friday I had the day off, so I went Christmas shopping for friends and family, and was pretty much successful in that venture. It seemed like everywhere I went had a buy-four-get-the-fith-free or buy-three-get-the-fourth-free sale, so I ended up with more gifts for my family than I expected. It seemed I had very few people to buy for this year, so hopefully I'm not forgetting anyone. o_O I guess as you get older you get less and less gifts for people. Then I came home and spent a good chunk of time making the Harry Potter puppets, and then we all went to go see Narnia! It's been forever and a year since I've read the books, but the movie was great fun all the same, and I liked the way they interpreted it. I wanted to reach out and pet Aslan; he looked so fluffy. :3 Not sure when I'll get the chance to go see it again, but I did enjoy it muchly.
Saturday
corrielle and I went to 3rd Street to do a little more Christmas shopping, even though I'd pretty much gotten mine done. I actually managed to navigate Santa Monica streets and find parking okay, which is feat in of itself. I went to meet
saiamander at EB Games since I hadn't seen him in forever, and I bought FFVIII and one-of-those-thingies-that-lets-you-play-GBA-games-on-the-GameCube. Fweee! We stopped by and picked up
sbcpanuru before heading home again. We cleaned the house as much as we could, and went and picked out a Christmas tree. We were able to get one for really cheap, we decorated it, and it looks great and makes the living room smell like pine. *<3's Christmas*
Sunday was our Christmas party, so it was first church and then more cleaning and then finally people coming! Even
sharamordinae managed to make it here, yay! We scarfed on snacks and cider, played random games, did our annual gift exchange and ended up watching the first Inuyasha movie. My person was
sbcpanuru, so I got him the 3rd Fullmetal Panic manga and the first in a series of Warcraft novels.
corrielle got me, and I got a bunch of bags full of candy (which I've already eaten...) the 4th Hot Gimmick manga and a big plushie of Bruce from 'Finding Nemo'! ^^ Mwaha, I am swimming in Disney plushies now! (And I need to catch up on Hot Gimmick already...) All in all, it was great fun with friends, as parties generally should be. ;)
Phew! So now the weekend is over, but still more craziness awaits, especially since the break is just a few days away. I do have to work a bunch of midnight shifts over the break (blargh) but I intend to get a bunch of drawing stuff done during that time so I can relax more while at home. Ohh, I've also been watching those Disney wartime propaganga cartoons, and they're frickin' HILARIOUS! Not that I'm a fan of the rampant racism, stereotyping and condescending "education", but they're just fascinating because you never see any cartoons like those anymore, and it says a thing or two about our war attitude today. Besides, where else are you going to see GIANT HITLER MECHA? So I'm glad Disney actually released these onto DVD, even though they'd probably just pretend they never happened. All I have left to watch is the classified cartoons (the ones they didn't show the public!) and the feature film "Victory Through Air Power." *geekout*
(Uggh, they're doing some kind of work in the hall, and now it smells really bad in here...)
With only a week until KH2 gets released in Japan (HOLY FRELLING CRAP) I've started steering clear of spoilers on KHU, especially behind-the-cut spoilers. It's driving me absolutely bonkers not clicking on those links, but I WILL exercise self-control! I was going to ban myself from the site completely starting Dec. 22nd, but I think as long as they keep spoilers out of reach I should be okay, mostly because I'm still waiting for an official release date! *gnaws on knuckles*
But at least they FINALLY have official confirmation for BHK's name, and it is....Roxas! *does dance of official confirmation* I'll admit Toshi will always sound better to me, but I think I can really like Roxas, especially once I hear it used enough in the game. Plus now I can say ROXAS ROXXORS and it's dorky and funny! (And at least it's not Saxor!)
Also, this picture of Sora from the opening FMV makes me go drooly. *Must try and avoid being spoiled for anymore of the FMV...*
Goblet of Fire puppet show completion status: 100% Go read! XD
Operator status: Busy at the moment, because the other operator is on break.
Drawing: I got the go-ahead to start inks for the short comic, so my plan is to start on that right after lunch! Woohoos! XD Also, I've still been plugging away at coloring that Winter Festival picture, and I've got most of the shadows done at this point.
Writing: Not much right now.
