Things on a screen
There's a new Lunargyros page up, you can read it here.

I was gonna talk about the Oscars, wasn't I? Well, long and short of it, went "okay cool" at some of it and was disappointed at a bunch of it. Tron, Tangled and HTTYD all got shafted. :| Tron should've gotten a score nomination anyway, or a VFX award. HTTYD definitely deserved score, and I wished it'd gotten Best Animated (with TS3 taking Best Picture, ahahaa like that'd ever happen.) Tangled definitely deserved best original song. I wasn't surprised that The King's Speech took Best Picture and a bunch of the other awards, 'cause it was really good. But let's be honest...10 years from now, people will remember Toy Story 3, not The King's Speech.

Also, not that impressed with the hosts. That kids' chorus at the end was way more impressive. Bring back Hugh Jackman, he was entertaining!

Yesterday was all day at the Gnomon preview day, which went pretty well! Finally got to talk in person with the recruiter from Nickelodeon, since I've just been emailing her previously. Also said hi to the people from Thinkwell, they totally remembered the silly movie I'd worked on there. XD The cool people from Wet Design were there, as was that slightly unsettling guy. We'll see if I get any actual bites from yesterday. Speaking of, I should write Alison again...

So I gave in and watched the first few episodes of the new My Little Pony. And...yeah, I can see why people won't stop gushing about that show now. It's somehow both teeth-rotting cute and REALLY ADDICTING. HELP I CAN'T STOP. Expect ponies art from me later...

I also may need to watch (or at the very least do some studies) for a more action-oriented show...I hear Young Justice has been quite good? Anyone know if that's an action series worth seeing?

Drawing: Sooo much LG, but also fanarts...

Writing: Fun things in RP

PONIES PONIES PONIES

I have heard YJ is pretty mediocre and haven't bothered with it, which is a shame because OMG TEENAGE SUPERHEROES :c but uhh idk I know some people are fairly into it... but as far as SUPERHERO CARTOONS go I'd choose Batman: The Animated Series over pretty much everything every time *__* PERSONALLY.

MISSED MANY THINGS IN CHILDHOOD. ;_; I do remember catching some eps of Batman Beyond, though, so that could also work.

I personally really LOVE Young Justice and I think it's pretty fucking rad! I would look into it if only to hear Roxas' voice coming out of Robin. But I love it a lot!

ALSO PONIESSSS YESSSSS

"But let's be honest...10 years from now, people will

Very, very true. This is why I don't set much store by the Oscars.

They can get it right sometimes, but more often than not I'm rather confused by what standards they're judging these films by.

I like Young Justice but then again I'm pretty gaga for anything super hero related.

Have you seen Avatar the Last Airbender yet? I can never keep track of who has and hasn't watched it XDb

YAY LITTLE PONIES THOUGH I can't help you there, I got sucked into it as well

Uhhh...I'm having trouble of thinking of any other "action" shows...

Yes, I've seen just the first season! (Tegs made me watch it. XD) I do need to see the other two seasons tho, although that probably would be a good one to look at.

Neither of us can escape aaaaaa

DID SOMEONE SAY ACTION? *slams door open*

(also, pfft, Oscars, whatevs)

*rubs hands together*

YOU SHOULD WATCH:
Avatar the Last Airbender
Batman: The Animated Series
Superman: The Animated Series
Batman Beyond
Justice League and Justice League Unlimited
Samurai Jack
Powerpuff Girls (no, really)
Adventure Time (no, really)
The DC Animated movies or at least Wonder Woman, Justice League: Crisis on 2 Earths and Batman: The Red Hood had the best fight scenes
Spectacular Spider-Man
Young Justice (esp episodes directed by Brandon Vietti, Greg Weissman and Jay Oliva)

YJ is great in terms of art, design and action, but they need work on their writing. As good as the actors are, some of the lines are so 'what adults think teenagers say' that it's dry and stiff. I've been forgiving them a lot since it's still the beginning but it still gets on my nerves sometime. Btw, you are very welcome to borrow my dvds :D

I WONDERED IF YOU'D SHOW UP XDDD

- Seen first season of Avatar; I should see others, or at least go back and study first season, because that was an excellent show.
- I remember little bits of Batman Beyond from when I was a kid...
- OMG I looooved Samurai Jack. PPG too, but Samurai Jack so impressed me even when I was little.
- Oh hey, Greg Weisman did some YJ eps?

Okay, good stuff to know! Maybe sometime I can borrow DVDs. XD

Wild horses wouldn't be able to keep me away from this post! Batman Beyond is just a fun show to watch because they really pushed themselves with the design and the dialogue. Samurai Jack is AWESOME, but stupid me, I forgot to put down Gennedy Tartakovsky's latest series 'Symbionic Titan' which is also awesome :D

Greg Weisman is one of the co-creators/executive producers on the show :D He and Brandon Vietti teamed up to create YJ. They be awesome <3

I need to go back and rewatch then; see how the design is. I know the design of Batman: TAS is pretty epic...

I haven't even heard of that new show from Tartakovsky, woah. :O

Yaaaay glad Greg is doing more stuff! :D

omg, the child choir was the only thing that made the Oscar show worth it. whatsherface was fine, and even funny, but James Franco was like a piece of plywood. he was so stiff and mechanical, it was bizarre. and boring. i agree, they should get hugh jackman back. :|

... PONIES.

Oh good I wasn't the only one who noticed that. He really was acting like plywood. And yeah, I found it kind of weird that they were ragging on Hugh Jackman a lot in that show. :/ It's like...dude, he was a lot funnier than all of you!

PONIES PONIES PONIES

I can't say anything about Young Justice, but I'll chime in with the recs I've seen for Justice League and Avatar: The Last Airbender. Both are excellent series, and the second has the bonus of doing it right when it comes to basing a fantasy world off Asian and Native American cultures.

Definitely worth a watch--it only gets better as it goes on. :3 Also, you have watched Gargoyles, yes? Because that one goes on the list of top U.S. cartoons, IMHO. :)

MWAHAHA WELCOME TO PONIES. ENJOY YOUR STAY.

Hmm, give Sym-Bionic Titan a whirl? Very action-y. Genndy Tartakovsky's newest series.
