The Machines are out to get me!
I swear they are...this stupid computer is having speaker issues again, the CD I'm trying to burn isn't working properly, and the engine light came on in my car AGAIN, which means that I have to take it in AGAIN, which means I probably won't get the toning done until Thursday at the earliest. Arrrgh, so close! Then again, I suppose I should be more worried about my car, since it seems determined to drive me insane.

Oh look, some art!

Just some inked randomness I did a bit ago. Plus, it's been awhile since I've posted any of my original characters.

This is obviously Tamber from the "Artifactory" story, and since he can take on any form he likes (or do anything else he likes) with his uber-powerful talisman, these are some of the different forms I've come up with so far that may appear in the story. So, it's Tamber as his normal self, as a Kobo, as a Zurliath, as a mountain lion, and as a human teenager. There may be other forms, but I certainly haven't thought of them yet. ;P

Thankfully, the smoke from the fires has pretty much cleared away, which means being able to breathe again! Hooray! \^o^/ Except this morning there was a fierce wind blowing again, and not a solitary raincloud in the sky...here's hoping that doesn't lead to any more nasty fires. Iiick. A little rain (okay, a LOT of rain) would still be greatly appreciated...

This weekend has been of the totally crazy variety! Thursday we went out to 3rd Street to see the midnight showing of 'Serenity.' HOLY TAP DANCING MOSES ON TOAST that movie totally BLEW ME AWAY. I'm only a mild fan of the series 'Firefly' compared to my Browncoat roommates, and I was still screaming my face off through most of it. There was applause, laughter and "FOOOOOOOCK!"s from the entire audience...gotta love going to see a movie with tons of fans. Hell, people even clapped during certain previews. Admittedly, as kickass as it was, it also scared the living crap out of me at more than a few parts...I know it made some of my friends absolutely furious! But yes, I will not spoil it for anyone, but in return you must go see it! Your lobster-wielding leader commands it!

We didn't get back from the movie until around 3 in the morning, after which I got a grand total of two hours of sleep since I was 1) freaking out over the movie, and 2) slowly asphyxiating from the smoke. Then the annoying part: I woke up at 8:00 and called the DMV to see if they were closed due to the fires. The reply I got was "Well, they were closed yesterday, but they should be open today." My thinking was: 'Mehh, I'll just reschedule my appointment for later.' So I try to reschedule, but their computer system is down. For a half hour. I go onto their website, only to discover that 1) navigating any website owned by the government is a joke, and 2) DSL and cable are useless in the face of their grossly incompitent servers. So I went, "Screw it, I'm already awake, I'll just drive out there and get the dang thing over with." So I drive all the way out there, and LO AND BEHOLD, the DMV is CLOSED due to "poor air quality." NO FRELLING SH*T, SHERLOCK.
...So to console myself, I went to the mall and bought three OEL manga I'd been on the hunt for: Steady Beat #1, Van Von Hunter #2, and Off*Beat #1. Fweee! ^^ Critiques/reviews will follow as soon as I finish reading them all. Now I just need to find Dramacon and I Luv Halloween...come on Borders, get those suckers on the shelves!

Sunday I had to go see a play for playwriting class (our workload just seems to keep building and building for it...) and it was in a tiny blink-and-you'll-miss-it theatre somewhere in Beverly Hills. The theatre couldn't have had more than 40, maybe 50 seats. The play was fairly good; the actors did a great job considering they were double and triple-cast in a bunch of rather strange roles. I also liked the way they did the set, although the overture at the beginning was a little long-winded.
Trying to find my way back home was interesting, at least concerning getting onto the freeway:
Mapquest: Take this street, and make a right to go onto the freeway!
Me: Okay!
Mapquest: Oops, forgot to mention: this street totally splits into three different streets, none of which are marked properly! :D
Me: ..........DX

I need to go read more of 'The Eyes of the Dragon' for class, but there's some drawings I want to do...gurgh...

Operator status: Quiet for the moment.

Drawing: I have totally finished 17 pages worth of toning! Woohoo! XD *dances* Only three more left to go! I wanted to finish them by Wednesday, but that doesn't look like it'll happen. The weekend, then! *pumps fist of motivation* Also, *still* fiddling with character designs on the short comic, and there's some fanarts I wanna do now...

Writing: Am up to speed on the play, so I'm not going to worry about that for a bit.
