LENS FLAAAAARE
Photoshop: obtained!
Tablet driver: updated!
Scanner: obtained!

The scanner doesn't have a lot of the same settings as my old one, such as the ability to scan bitmap (as far as I can see) so I'm going to have to get used to some new processes. But it's still good to be able to draw and paint on the comp again.

Because of this, after a three-week wait, there's finally a new Lunargyros update right here. Let's see if I can actually stay on track...

Last night I went with cool dudes Rei, Em, Jess and Neko to go see Star Trek!

Now, my knowledge of Star Trek TOS extends to general geek knowledge, the tribbles episode and the fourth movie. Hey I thought it was awesome when I was little. That said, with hardly any Trek experience, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie!
- I'm a huge sucker for time paradox stories (if "The Eleventh Hour" didn't make it obvious enough) so of course I liked the plot. In fact, I might have preferred it a little more time-paradox-y, but this was satisfactory enough.
- I really liked the designs they used in the series...like for the Romulan ship and Vulcan. Whether or not they're actually practical designs is irrelevent to my brain; just "damn that's kickass-looking!" is good for me.
- While I liked the designs of exterior and interior, and all the cool ship-fighting-explosions, I could've done without the occasional camera-shaking and frequent use of the LENS FLAAARE Photoshop filter.
- In related news, I lol'd at the Slusho mention. XD
- OMG Chekhov was adorable. It seems weird to say that for a ST character, but he WAS. I just wanted to hug him.
- Was I the only one who thought of the Galaxy Quest scene (Loredo trying to take the ship out of the hangar) when Sulu was trying to put the Enterprise into warp and left the metaphorical emergency brake on? |D
- I predicted that poor red shirt was gonna die the second they went down to Vulcan, but DAMN that was a painful death. :|
- Overall, I thought all of the characters developed nicely. Everyone was believable, the acting was good, and I was thoroughly engaged in everything that was going on.
- I can definitely see this as them setting up a new TOS series, although if they did, I'd want the same actors. I can see some factions of Trekkies throwing the shitfits now.

So yeah. Lots of fun watching this movie! I'd definitely recommend it, whether or not you're a Trekkie.

Especially him having to repeat his commands all the time with his accent. XD

Yeah, I know some people refuse to consider it a Star Trek movie because it went completely AU. But then again, come on, it's nothing that DC and Marvel fans haven't gone through hundreds of times. ;D
