Yesterday during traditional Friday night pizza we were watching a bunch of internet movie trailers on Acchan's combination computer/TV (I looove our big ol' TV...). Oftentimes, I enjoy watching trailers even more than I do the actual movie...heck, that's half the reason I see movies in the theaters, anyway. ;) Some swanky stuff we watched:
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe HOLY CRAP, YES. I had heard they were making a TLTW&TW movie, but I had no idea they were making it this frelling COOL. I am *sooo* seeing this the day it comes out. It's awesome to see these books finally getting the LOTR-style treatment they deserve. Speaking of, I need to actually finish the series sometime...I think I stopped halfway through 'The Silver Chair' when I was really young.
I still remember watching the original really-poorly-done animated version...I think that cartoon will always hold a special place in my heart. ;)
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory This looks simultaneously creepy and hilarious. It remains to be seen whether it'll live up to the status of cult classic like the original, but just from the trailers, it seems Johnny Depp is perfect for that role. XD
Serenity I haven't even seen that much of 'Firefly,' but I'm still bouncy for this. Not nearly as much as Sai-chan and Ten-chan, of course, but I still cheered when I saw this in the theater before SW: Episode III. Gotta love Joss Whedon's sarcastic writing flair. ;)
The Da Vinci Code I have been WAITING for this movie ever since I blazed through the book back in London last year. Considering the fact the movie's not coming out until *next* May, they had no actual footage from the film, which annoyed me greatly. They *did* have all of the big-name actors for it though. Ian Mckellen as Teabing (I'm assuming) is just perfect. I'm not so certain on Tom Hanks as Langdon, though. Tom Hanks is great and all, but I just can't picture him as Langdon at all. He's a bit too subtle for that character...and IMO, too old.
Hugh Jackman, on the OTHER hand...yum. He would make a kickass Langdon. XD *Wants to draw him as such now*
Corpse Bride You definitely can't go wrong with Tim Burton's animation. ;) He has a terrific sense of character, and I can't wait to see this story...it looks creepily hilarious.
Now if only I had the money to go to the movies more...I've wanted to go see 'Madagascar', since it looks funny and I need to be keeping up with what animated films are coming out nowadays. 'Howl's Moving Castle' is also very high on my list, provided I can find the time and a theatre showing it. Heck, in LA that shouldn't be such a problem.
Both Pseudome and KHU are still down. It's a miracle I'm still breathing at this moment. T_T
Operator status: Very quiet, woo. ^^
SW: Episode III puppet show completion status: 8% Still working on the script. Again, I wish I was feeling more inspired.
Drawing: Nearly done with both the Hollow Bastion map and the KH fanart I was working on. I don't really have any solid ideas on what's coming next, but I know I need to do some concept art sketches for something else...
