More questions to the masses...
After talking about such with one of my previous teachers, I think for birthday stuff this year I want to ask for money towards a really good printer. I haven't had one in years, and I'm really kind of sick and tired of going to Kinkos all the time. I suspect that in the long run, printing my own stuff will save me money, too.

So to all artists out there: I'd love some advice! What printer is best to look into? What I need is:
- Something that will print color well, and quickly.
- Will run with a Mac; I'm using OS 10.4.
- I have heard that Epson is particularly good, especially with Macs, so one of those might be nice.
- I don't particularly care about any scanning or faxing capabilities. The money is intended for high-quality printing first and foremost. (Although considering the fact that my scanner has to run OS Classic in order to function, a working scanner would be a nice but not necessary bonus.)
- As far as price range goes, somewhere around a couple hundred dollars. Preferably under $750, definitely under $1000.

Any help is appreciated; thank you! ;_;

Also...man, AX is this weekend, isn't it? I wish I was going! First year I haven't done AX in awhile, and I really hope it goes back to Anaheim next year...the KHFFR meeting was so fun last year that I'm sad we're not doing it again this year! *Sends good wishes to all who are going*

Epson 1280, it can do gorgeous prints in a variety of sizes and it can go borderless! All of my teachers swore by that printer when I asked around and I totally love it. :D

Ooooh, and at least from looking online, it looks fairly affordable, too. Thank you for the suggestion; I shall look into it! :D

Whatever you get, don't bother with Dell or HP scanner/printer combinations. The scanner is of poor quality in every model I've seen; it's only tacked on so they can charge more for the printer.

I like my office's Samsung, but it's a giant-ass network printer that costs several grand, and I don't know how good the smaller models are.

Yeah, if I ever get a scanner again, it would be something high-quality and likely oversize so that I don't have to scan things in doubles anymore. I'm honestly shocked that my dinky little OS-Classic scanner has lasted this long! *knock on wood*

Dunno how printers are, but Samsung seems to be doing pretty well in the affordable-quality department. My TV and DVD player are both Samsung.

printers
I have been partial towards Hp printers. However it seems HP, Canon, and Epson are all good brands. do you want an inkjet printer or laser?

hey, ive got a broken mac, is there any chance i can get a copy of your mac os cds?

Re: printers
I've seen nice stuff with laser printers, but I know they're a bit more costly, too. I'm probably gonna avoid HP because I think I got a cheap one before that crapped out on me fast, and *points to above comment*.

Well the OS CD I have is a burnt copy anyway, and I never got a CD for OS 10.3; what I originally had. :/ And what do you mean by "broken"? Is the OS just not loading, or what?
