Quick Rant (BLOGGER 1-17-04)
This just frelling annoys me to death, and I need to rant.

Anime Expo this year will be, once again, taking place at the Long Beach Convention Center, as opposed to the Anaheim one. This is a manageable change, except for the fact that the Long Beach center is *much* smaller than the Anaheim one. Hence, longer lines (especially for the Dealer's Hall) less room for displays and setups, and all-around more annoyed con-goers.

And why has it been relocated to Long Beach? Because the (conservative) Christian convention that normally runs during the same time as Anime Expo BOUGHT OUT the convention center for at least a few years. Why? Because they don't like sharing the area with us.

As a Christian, I am *extremely* annoyed by this. What, seeing girls prance around in very revealing catgirl outfits was just too much for their lil' Jesus-filled hearts to handle? Guess what: Jesus hung around prostitutes, thieves and "bad people" ALL THE TIME. Or perhaps they got tired of the fact that pamphlet-tossing evangelism wasn't working on all these heathens.

As an anime fan (read: heathen) I'd like to point out something obvious to hardcore evangelists: PAMPHLET-WHORING DOESN'T WORK. It just makes non-Christian anime fans despise organized religion and Jesus all the more. And I would think kids despising Jesus would be the *opposite* goal of evangelical Christians. I'm all about spreading the word of God to those that want to hear it. But there are right and wrong ways to go about it. Buying out the stupid convention center because you don't want to "deal with" psychotic anime fans is the *wrong* way to do it. It just reinforces the already negative stereotypes that many anime fans have about Christianity.

I'd really like to think that Christians and anime/manga fans can get along. Personally, my passion for comics, animation and stories hasn't conflicted with my faith...in fact, they more often than not support each other. But I suppose we've still got a long, long way to go before both Christians and anime fans come out of their respective holes and acknowledge each other as equally respectable.

ARGH. Just had to rant briefly.

Back to life...I'm behind on many things, such as answering my email and working on the site. Since the problems with my bedroom have put me behind on finishing toning for my RSOM 5 entry, it may be even longer before the site is completed. Oh well...I suppose there isn't really a deadline for it. It will happen when it happens.

...Back to the new project that I'm having lots of fun on! XD (Uh oh, yet *another* project...)

Operator status: Mmm, nice and quiet. ^^

Statuses: No change thusfar. Rather a pity.

Drawing: I'm working on a new comic idea that I'm having lots of fun with! I have no clue what to do with it, unfortunately, since it's not like I have time to work on it and Lunargyros. However, I may post some pages up on DevART or such to see what people think, and if they would like to see more. It's nice to just be worry-free about a story idea for once!

Writing: Poems for class (weee) and various other tidbits.
