Yuuuuuck...it's 8:30 am and I've already been at work for an hour, after being up since 4:00 am 'cause I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep. I'm attempting to study for a test in Poly-Sci I have in a few hours, but I can barely read straight. Since it's the lecture freshmen class I'm not worried about it being hard, but I'm worried that I'll be so uncaring/lethargic/asleep that I'll screw it over anyway. That'd be irony in a bucket.
I've been in a terrific groove working on this particular RSOM entry; so much that it's driving me insane. I'm in one of those modes where I can't sleep or think straight until I finish a project...and while normally that means I just stay up till 3 am working on it, I can't do that here. So instead I just end up being antsy and full of nervous energy until I can get home and ink for hours on end. And when I'm in that MUST WORK ON ART mode, *everything* else suddenly becomes a huge burden to me...schoolwork, chores, even fixing myself dinner. And there's been lots of schoolwork that's popped up, plus tons of tiny little evil everyday things...I've kinda given up on attempting the SF/F research project; my license expired so I have to contact the DMV; the engine light's come on so I need to get the car fixed; I need to fill out an early tax return packet because apparently the California Board of Equalization wasn't paying ATTENTION when I said I only wanted a *temporary* seller's permit, and now the City of Anaheim is wondering why I haven't registered my business with them yet (a "business" which is, shockingly, "located at the convention center!" Gasp!)
I hate little necessary adult things like that! Even when I finish the RSOM entry I'm having fun with, I'd rather be working on the short comic, or hammering out more details for my TP pitch, or trying to beef up my portfolio, or drawing fanart of some kind! Blargh!
Heh, but then again, once I actually *get* a job that involves drawing, I'll probably want to do anything but draw after doing it for hours on end. ;P Go figure.
Okay, better things...
People in class liked the start of play, yay! ^^ It got a bunch of laughs. I have to rework some of the middle and end (sigh) but I think I can manage it, and thankfully I have a head start on the next 15 pages that are due.
This weekend I'll probably have a lot more time to work on the RSOM entry, even with homework and having to get the car fixed. So I'll probably just sit and ink and tone all weekend and get it out of my system. Yaaaay! And if somehow that time still disappears, I'll just go insane. Weeee! And next weekend Ten-chan is coming down to watch 'Serenity' with us, although Rei, Em and Kel are going tonight to see the actual-actual premiere with the stars. Lucky them!
Oh, and I totally watched 'Advent Children' this past weekend. It rocks hardcore! Well, let me rephrase that: it's not got the most amazing and deep and tragic plot in the world. I suppose I would've got more of it if I'd actually played FFVII (which I suppose I will sometime.) But those that are complaining that the story wasn't this or the characters weren't that or they didn't sail my ship blah blah blah can just shush and LOOK AT THE PRETTY. It's clear the whole point of the movie was to showcase frelling kickass unrealistic fights with awesome animation, and that's totally fine by me. Everybody needs a little pointless eye candy now and then. ;) In fact, I wanna go back and rewatch some of that pretty...
Operator status: The other operator got a migraine, so it's just me until noon when I have that test. Joy and a half.
Drawing: On page nine of inks for the RSOM 6 entry. *Looks at clock and gnaws on random nearby objects until she can go home and do more*
Writing: Probably about 20 typed pages of the play so far. Phew! We'll see how much more I can get done early...
