Cut Short?
There's a new LG page up from yesterday...here it is!

Oh, also...thanks to donations, I was able to put up the puppet show for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban!

Took my grandma to Disneyland and DCA on Monday, and it went really well! It was a really beautiful day, and we managed to do lots of things since there were very few crowds. We caught World of Color at the end, too, and I saw the Tron part they added on this time. XD We also just talked about all sorts of things, which is nice since I don't get to do that often. So, pretty successful D-Land trip. Although, there was a lot of construction going on...large chunks of Main Street were roped off, and the best parts of the animation building were closed. D:

Man...I feel like there was all this other stuff I was going to say, but now I can't think of it. -_- Suddenly feeling overwhelmed with lots of different projects that I either want or need to get done, so I'll just have to be dealing with those one at a time.

Ended up meeting [livejournal.com profile] wyna_hiros and [livejournal.com profile] famira for lunch today, which was awesome because I haven't seen them in a long time! We just hung out and talked geeky stuff. XD

There's a new Lunargyros page up, read it here.

I've also got one more pic...I did a color version of the giant cat from that weird steampunk dream. (And I almost typed steampink.)

Wellllll, it's that time once again! Since a new KH game is out, I've snagged a copy and it's time for ~~COMMENTARY~~ on Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded!

I'm not gonna charge through in a week like I did with BBS; just playing in the evenings after I actually get some work done in the day. XD I'm going into this game much in the same way I did the original CoM...no real expectations, very few spoilers, and no idea what's gonna happen. So, let's just dive right in and see what happens!

Milestone
I've been boring lately in that I've been crunching away at LG pages most of the time...I'm trying to finish this chapter by the end of the week, and I'm about five pages away from doing so. However, I just hit a crazy milestone...as of tonight, I have officially completed 300 pages of Lunargyros. @____@ AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. I never imagined getting this far...with anything, let alone this comic! I feel like I should do a celebration for the 300th page, but I dunno what!

Completely unrelated, but I was wondering...does anyone know how to generate one of those little progress meters? Something to show how much of a certain amount (money, points, whatever) is being accumulated towards a certain goal? IDK if there's any way to make that sort of thing on LJ.

Also, Italy keeps trying to kill my parents in really bizarre ways. They have been lucky in surviving thusfar. 8|

Holy crap, Re:Coded is out in a week! I'm totally not mentally ready...

Slept a little bit better last night; I had that issue the night before of being kept up by the wind and having nightmares. I'm a little worried that this has happened a couple times...like I'm developing some kind of Pavlovian reaction to the sound of strong wind at night. D: And I'd also rather stop having nightmares...I suppose last night's were more weird than actually nightmarish. At one point there was attempting to play a massive match-the-tiles game, only that turned into trying to make sugar cookies that matched, only the cookie dough being used felt like I was trying to work with dry play-dough.

Forgot what else I was gonna say. How's your year so far, flist?

[livejournal.com profile] ottering, I got your card, and it was so cute! :D Thank you!

I've been thinking about doing that Final Fantasy 30 days meme, but I don't know if I'm really "qualified" for that, considering I've only played four of them. 8|

Haven't been up to much lately...trying really hard to let myself relax, considering Christmas is just around the corner! I've been watching my little bro play through BBS, as we usually seem to share gaming during the holidays, and as such have been laughing over jokes and freaking over plot stuff a lot. He's finished Aqua, and is now playing Terra (since he decided to play them out of order.) There's been no sense in going outside, since it's been raining nearly nonstop. I've never seen this much rain around this time of year. @_@

I was a total idiot today and spilled orange juice all over my pants, my floor...and my keyboard. 8( I tried to clean up everything that I could, and I think I got most of it, but now several keys on my keyboard are failing to respond. I'm going to take it apart tomorrow the first chance I have and give it a good scrubbing; hopefully that'll be enough to fix those borked keys. Aaaaand if not...well, I have a spare keyboard, so it's not as horrible as it could be. But man, wish I hadn't done that. Maybe I just have bad luck with orange juice.

Hmm, I feel like there was something else I was going to talk about, and now I can't remember what it was. :| Maybe it'll come to me later.

I wish our Christmas decorations were up now; it'd make it feel a lot more Christmas-y around here. But both 'rents have been way too busy to worry about it now, and I can't really do it all myself. Maybe we can this weekend.

Start working, LJ!
HEY DUDES, I'M BACK AROUND THE INTERNETS NOW. It's been a pretty busy week since Thanksgiving, but also lots of fun.

First off: hello to any new dudes from the KH friending meme! I don't usually do those sorts of things, but hey, It Seemed Like A Good Idea At The Time. Expect mostly art dumps and chatting on about nothing in particular from me.

Thanksgiving itself went better than I expected, just because it was with people I don't see hardly at all. Friday in the afternoon I went and saw Harry Potter with my parents, and it was pretty dang epic. I enjoyed the movie...I dunno if I did as much as HBP, but quite a lot. I kind of loved how they did the tale of the three brothers, with that stylistic animation. That was probably my favorite part of the whole movie. Now just need part two to get here...

Then on Friday, [livejournal.com profile] teg_plays_games came over for a week-long visit, and we did many geeky and California things! I finally saw all of the first season of Avatar...so of course sometime I have to sit down and watch the other two seasons, too. 8D I did enjoy the show a bunch; I was impressed by so much in it. We also did a bunch of gameage, mostly Okami, BBS and Dissidia. It's really nice to be able to use the multiplayer options in both of those, and mirage arena-ing and Dissidia battles were both much fun, even if I frequently lost the latter. Ah well, I got to level some villains, since I haven't picked up that game in ages. And Teg got to laugh at the fact that sometimes rumble racing with Terra is REALLY REALLY FRUSTRATING.

On Monday we headed with [livejournal.com profile] yamikonumber7 out to D-Land! It ended up being a pretty good day to go, since it was the Monday after the break and a pretty cold day. (More of that cold was felt at night, though.) So there was practically nobody there...plenty of space to run around and the lines were all very short. We got to do pretty much everything we wanted, including a bunch of the darkrides and the teacups, which I haven't done in ages. We finished it off with the Christmas fireworks show + Disneyland "snow." The park closed early (probably because of weekday and winter times), but we got dinner at House of Blues and it was quite good.

Tuesday we did a few more geeky things and then headed to Hollywood for a showing of 'Tangled' at the El Capitan! Of course there was a little walking around the walk of the stars area before hand, too. We had totally awesome seats for the movie, and they did a stage show beforehand that I actually hadn't seen before. (Best part of that was obviously the 'I'll Make A Man Out Of You' segment.) Tangled was just as good the second time; the songs actually felt a little better to me the second time around. I do love El Capitan, and I'm debating shelling out for a ticket there for the premiere of Tron: Legacy... After the movie we got delicious ice cream at the Disney Soda Fountain, and I also gave Teg a superquick tour of Gnomon.

Aaaand today was even more geekery, Malibu Seafood and showing Teg some studios in Burbank before finally having to take her back to the train station. But it was indeed a fun week!

Oof...except now I should really get back to work, and I've been hit with the tired stick, too. @_@ I'm going to try and be as productive as I can in the next two weeks on the stuff I have to get done, partially to match what friends (and particularly my mom) are having to do right now, and partially because I want to get some of the freelance stuff out of the way so that I can focus on stuff like that Okami board or getting down more of that reindeer story...kinda fell behind on that. >>

Finally, there's a new Lunargyros page from yesterday.

Bad day for turkeys tomorrow
The heater in our house is broken, so we need to buy a new one. In the meanwhile, it is surprisingly cold for California in November, so I am going BRRRRRR over here and trying to wrap myself in blankets. 8< (Yes I know it's not true cold like some friends in Canada or the east coast or the midwest have, but I'm a wimpy Californian so I'm allowed to complain!)

Been working a ton on art stuff, mostly boarding for the freelance thing and the reindeer story, and hoping I'm ready for the con this weekend. I'm thinking of getting my hair cut tomorrow...fresh haircut can do wonders for feeling good and all.

Anyways! I wrote and drew out another scene from the reindeer story, should be following off the first one. I'm not sure where to go next from here; I think I have to figure out the plot in a more solid manner. But I bought a copy of 'The Year Without A Santa Claus,' so yay more Rankin/Bass cartoon info. Three things in black and white
There's a new Lunargyros page up today; read it here.

So, they're removing the huge tree that stood in the middle of our collective condo driveway. It's really weird not having that giant tree there anymore, like there's too much space. :( I'm sad to see any tree get cut down, especially one I'm familiar with, although realistically it really did need to be moved...it was kind of bad planning to put a tree in the middle of a driveway in the first place, and it's grown so much that the roots are starting to push up the concrete and break wires and pipes. Poor tree, you should've had a better home from the start.

Got some things artwise...first, another attempt at the BBS cast in a different art style!

There's a new Lunargyros page up today; read it here.

I'm really interested by the poll results from yesterday...there was a lot more yes than I was expecting! This now makes me wonder if this is mainly a thing among fandom-oriented (or creatively-oriented) people, or if it's true with the human population in general. Because if it's the latter, that says some interesting things about how our brains function and how important fiction and stories really are to us...not just to help us understand the world, but also for our own personal health. If so many of us need some form of fiction in order to get to sleep, and sleep is such a vital part of human health and productivity, then this could mean that we need fiction to maintain everyday health. I suppose I'd need more data, but yeah, it's interesting to think about. :Oa

Also, I have a (slightly late) birthday present for [livejournal.com profile] betwixt_worlds! This was something I intended to draw for her awhile ago and kinda failed to, so hopefully it's okay now. XD HAPPY BIRTHDAY AGAIN

The Wrath of Con )

ALSO also, I need help from the flist. I'd been mulling over getting Corel Painter for awhile, but had never really gotten around to it. Except now I downloaded a copy (actually a trial version unless I can get this dang serial number to work) and tried it out some. And. Holy crap, how have I lived this long without Painter. The brush and blending options and everything are SOOO SHINY AND I NEED IT AAAAH. It feels like REAL PAINT and that's totally the feel I've been trying to get with Photoshop but never really achieving. SO. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of Painter for mac OSX 10.5 that will work properly, whether with a proper crack/serial number or otherwise? I will love you forever and/or probably draw you something, no lie. *___*

Day 22 - Favorite Pairing

NOT A SHOCKER to anyone that knows me even a bit, but my fav pairing is Sora/Kairi. XD They are full of sweetness and cuteness and plotty goodness, and I admit I tend to ship canon and closest to it when I'm in a fandom the strongest. Although I'd say I ship the Sora/Riku/Kairi OT3 on an equal level...they're the ones that really turned me on to the idea of OT3s. And when you actually see the three of them all together, you can totally feel that they belong that way.

Uuuugh...so the publishing deal I was trying to set up with LG isn't really gonna work out after all. There's other options that I can and eventually will pursue, I'm just disappointed that this one isn't working out, especially since I've already put so much time and talk into it. :( And the guy is nice, just...the business practices weren't in my favor. Nnnnnuuugggh. /feels kinda rotten

Well speaking of, there's a new page up today...check it out here.

...Okay, and on top of it all, my tablet is starting to go into its death throes. I was hoping I could make it last until Christmas, but I don't even know if that's the case. DX Which means I have to go shopping for a tablet again...and I dunno if I should just buy directly from Wacom, or go brick-and-mortar shopping, or buy a used one or what. Anyone out there know of a good place to buy tablets? DX I'm looking for an Intuos, preferably medium-size, $400 or less.

Of course, part of me is also thinking of biting the bullet and just plunking down the money for a Cintiq, but....NNNNGH they're so expensive. But so shiny, too. 8( But also also, apparently Cintiqs do not play nice with the kind of mac I have, so...I DUNNO WHAT TO DOOOO.

WYVERNSSSSS. Probably not a shocker to anyone, but I have always loved Wyverns. 8D I love their look and their movement and I love beating them up. I even love that they made a reappearance in Days, even if they were sometimes a pain. I can almost forgive Dustflier just because it's a Wyvern-type Heartless. Just Wyverns are awesome.

Day 15 - Favorite Unversed

I think I am most fond of Wild Bruisers. They are less annoying than the other Bruiser types *glares sideways at Buckle Bruisers* and they're just strangely cute in their big galloping moves and in the fact that they have a banana peel on their heads.

Most definitely Timeless River. 8D Oh goodness, I love everything about that world...the animation, the references to oldschool cartoons, the fact that we get oldschool-looking Sora, Donald and Goofy, the silliness of it...my only big disappointment is that we spent so little time there. I hope someday we can go back to the past.

There are a bunch of others that come in second, too...Hollow Bastion and Deep Jungle in KH1 (YES I ACTUALLY LIKE DEEP JUNGLE, DON'T JUDGE ME), Pride Lands and Space Paranoids in KH2, and Dwarf Woodlands and Deep Space in BBS.

Many things today
There's a new Lunargyros page up today, check it out here.

Well, at least one of the eggs has hatched now. It's just a little robin, and won't last forever, but it's really nice to have a project to work on for someone else (for pay) for awhile. May or may not post some progress stuff here; I'm not sure what I'm allowed to show. Either way, it should be fun to work on.

Also, trying to get in the habit of drawing ten humans a day. Here are some! XD

I felt like drawing some Keyblade gijinka. So, drew personification of Terra, Aqua and Ven's Keyblades: Earthshaker, Rainfell and Wayward Wind. They're fun to do. XD

Earthshaker, Rainfell, Wayward Wind )

And I seem to be on a personification kick, because I'm doing more...particularly human versions of Willcox and Taby, from The Adventures of Willcox and Friends. Absolutely no one will know this comic because it's something I drew when I was very little...like, ten years old. I've still got them laying around somewhere. Willcox is the dog and Taby is the cat (original names, I know), and it's them with their respective normal selves.

Willcox and Taby )

Also, did a sketch of the KH version of Cecil.

Doctor Cecil )

As if there weren't enough in this, I decided to do the KH 30 days meme that [livejournal.com profile] bouncy_erbear started. I don't usually do 30-day memes, but then again, I'm a predictably huge nerdface. XD

Day 1 - Favorite Character

Hmm, I like many for different reasons, but I'll probably be predictable and say Sora. |D I've had him as a muse for awhile, so that's a large part of it, but I also have a huge soft spot for that sort of happiness-in-the-face-of-the-worst hero. It's inspiring. I can get fiercely defensive of the kid when fandom hate crops up; it's almost embarrassing. Either way, I likes him much and will happily play future games as long as he's in them. (Which will probably be all of them, SO YEAH.)

Hehh, now that I've actually finished off BBS, I'm still on the emotional high but suffering a kind of post-partum depression. |D So much buildup for it and now I've finished it all! I really need to get back into the art swing, and it's going a little slow. I'm hoping to get myself into some steady drawing processes starting next week. Having any one of these eggs hatch would be really nice... Fanarts likely in there, too.

In the meanwhile, trying to finish up all of those LG covers. I've got about five left to go, coloring-wise. There's also a new LG page (see, I'll never forget!) and you can read it here.

Also, I know some dudes were asking for it in the last post, so I'll pass along what got passed to me: The Birth by Sleep OST! The songs don't loop, so it looks like a game rip, but the quality is fine! I looooooove pretty much all of the songs on this one, OMG.

T-MINUS NOTHING AAAAH
Yesterday at Disneyland with [livejournal.com profile] yamikonumber7, [livejournal.com profile] amorsinseramada and Kristin was much fun! Traffic was good both ways, it wasn't too bad crowd-wise considering it was Labor Daybor, and we got in a bunch of rides, including Splash Mountain, which I haven't done in a long time and I got friggin' soaked on. XD Also, somehow we got started on a game of "Marry, Screw, Kill" that seriously continued on and off for half of the day and got into some very weird territory. It was friggin' hilarious. Ended the visit with Fantasmic and the new fireworks show, despite the fact that Maleficent Dragon was still broken. Poor giant animatronic dragon.

And now TODAY IS THE DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY OMGGGGGGGG *RUNS AROUND FOREVER*

In half an hour I am driving down to the Gamestop to get my copy and probably the guide, too. 8D Checking my 2-gig memory card, I should have enough space to install the game and hopefully cut down on loading times.

And yes I will be doing running commentary. 8D So expect pretty much nothing but BBS playthrough for the rest of this week, like lots of other people are doing. ALSO, be warned: I'll probably be swearing a bunch in playthroughs, because it seems the only two times in life I really get a foul mouth are when I'm driving or playing video games. And I'm tackling BBS on Proud mode, so yeah. 8D;

And of course, there's two new Lunargyros pages up today! (I will never forget updates!)

OKAY I AM OFF TO GO PICK UP MY COPY NOW
