And since I'm not going to do a puppet show on this movie or any of the other appropriate movies coming out soon (sorry...DX) here's my thoughts and random musings on the movie, in no real organized format:
- I enjoyed watching it! I don't think it was as good as the first two, but it made me want to go back and rewatch the first Spiderman movie. I saw that one in the Arclight with awesome buds, and it was a terrific moviegoing experience. :D The effects and fight scenes were, naturally, all kinds of kickass. Holy crap, I feel bad for that effects animator now. (WE NEED YOU TO ANIMATE SAND PUNCHING THINGS, LOL.)
- Peter was an idiot a lot in this one, both intentionally and unintentionally. A sweet idiot, yes, but still an idiot.
- There was a helluva lotta slamming people into poles in this movie.
- Speaking of, I think maybe the writers took a few liberties too many with the Deus Ex Machina, especially when it came to Harry. I mean, fr'instance:
Harry: Peter, I will KEEL JOO >:O
Mishaps: *HAPPEN*
Sudden I-beam: *SMACK*
Harry: *ded*
Peter: NOOOOOOES
Doctor: He's not dead, he's just pining!
Harry: Oh damn, amnesia! :D Well, that kinda sucks! :D I guess! :D :D
And then later:
Harry: Aw man, I'm hearing voices again. D:
Osborne: Remember who you are! You are my son, and the one true Green Goblin!
Harry: *touches mirror* ALL OF MY MEMORIES ARE CONVENIENTLY RESTORED!
...And just in time for him to screw up Peter and Mary Jane's relationship, too! And then, finally, towards the end:
Harry: GRR PETER SUCKS >:O
Butler: Hey, by the way, I haven't told you this for the past two years, but actually the autopsy says that your father got killed by his own flying skateboard. Just FYI. :D Maybe you should have a change of heart. :D
Harry: Oh. D: ...Okay! :D
I mean, come ON, Butlerman! Could've mentioned this a long time ago and saved the movies some grief!
- Speaking of such... PETER/HARRY/MJ OT3: Y/DUH/ABSOLUTELY. I mean, come on, it was all right there! Screw this love triangle stuff, embrance the power of OT3! Sharing is caring!
- That said, I was sad when Harry died, even though we all saw that coming from the "I would die for my friends!" line. I will miss seeing him in any future movies, for he was hot. D:
- Sandman was a fun villain, but...did he really need to be there? Maybe they just wanted to have him in so that Spidey could tackle two villains at the end and do the whole double-teamup-action!thing. I was totally expecting them to have the Lizard this movie, what with having Dr. Connors in Spiderman 2.
- Eddie Brock was kind of awesome, and Venom was more awesome. Freaky, but there definitely needed to be more Venom. I don't see how they could bring him back for another movie, since they both pretty much exploded. (Although that scene with trapping him in tone-heavy bars was pretty cool.) The scene in the bell tower was just plain kickass. :D
- The entire theater was just kind of lawling when the alien symbiote made Peter go all emo-hair-eyeliner-jazz-club nasty. It was like the entire emo stint was dorkier than his actual dorkiness. Of course that turned nasty when he actually hit MJ (the whole theater went OOOOH SCREWED when that happened), but it was just kind of...hilarious.
- Bruce Campbell continues to steal every scene they put him in. So damn hilarious.
- Lulz, random appearance by Stan Lee.
Random questions:
- Why would they be testing a demolecularization machine over a pit of sand? Were they trying to demolecularlize the sand? How would they be able to tell? It was still sand when they were done!
- As Peter asked, if they thought there was an accomplice in Uncle Ben getting shot, why didn't they mention it until now?
- Why would Peter allow Gwen to kiss him like that when he knew MJ was watching? I mean, he can be dumb, but I would figure not that dumb.
- How did Venom know that Sandman was after Spiderman, too? When did Eddie Brock ever meet him? I don't even remember him hearing about the whole chase after him.
- Yeah, that butler thing again.
So, all in all, it was fun to watch and full of both sadness and LOLarity. The writing could have used some work; or maybe they just shouldn't have tried to pack so many different stories in there at once. It's worth seeing in the theater once, at the least! :O
In completely unrelated news, The Sora Song now has 3000 comments. akdjaskldjsaldl*splode*
And verdamnt, now I need to head to school early to work on some assignments before class. I'm no longer able to get everything done during the lab times... XP *runs off*
