A person likes to do something because they're good at it
A person is good at something because they like to do it
I've been thinking about this a lot lately, at least in terms of art. It seems to be both motivational and a vicious cycle...if an artist, say, really likes to draw dogs, then they'll draw a lot of dogs, and therefore become good at drawing dogs. And then if they try to draw a car instead, it comes out badly and they go "well I'm just no good at drawing cars," and go back to drawing dogs over and over. An artist becomes stuck in a groove that they can never escape.
But then, the antidote to this is just to draw cars over and over anyway...draw them until the artist becomes good at them. Then when they're good at drawing cars, they'll enjoy drawing them. So, to make yourself enjoy something, you have to become good at it...but it's difficult to become good at something that you don't enjoy doing. But then again, if you only do what you enjoy doing, you'll only be good at a few things.
I wonder how many other places this sort of thing applies. :Oa
Speaking of arts, have some of what I've been doing the past few days:
( Ansem model )
OTHERWISE, I also did more style experimentation + KH characters:
( And sketches )
Drawing: This, plus I'm trying more speed paintings just in black and white.
Writing: Gonna go catch up on tags now~
And some speed paintings that I want to possibly color before posting.
