PHEW.
Well, yesterday was officially my last day at my animation-contract-work job, so I'm taking today off to lounge around the house! Man, that was a ton of work the past few weeks, and I wasn't even staying there all day and all night like some of my coworkers were.

I'm both sad and not-sad that it's over...not-sad because of the killer hours and stress, but sad because I'll miss the cool dudes there and it was fun to be animating. If nothing else, I learned all sorts of things from the experience:
- Even in animation, I still prefer doing the setup and layout of animating rather than hardcore finessing.
- No matter how much I worked on a scene, it could always be made better.
- In order to make things look better, you need more time, money, resources and experience.
- Having resources organized and knowing exactly how a shot is supposed to look will save you tons and tons of time in the long run.
- Sometimes, it costs more to not buy the nice equipment than it does to actually buy the nice equipment.
- If something is screwed up early on in any part of the process, it will not get better further down the pipeline.
- Making a rig that works smoothly in any animating situation is very difficult.
- If you're going to shoot a movie based primarily on visual effects, you need to know how visual effects work.
- Scary things are fun to animate.

It seems like all of this stuff should be obvious, and yet it's real different actually encountering it in real life. XD Either way, I learned a ton from the experience! And I totally wouldn't mind working with anyone there again. Josh and Eliot were both cool guys; I need to meet up with Eliot at SDCC this summer!

But man, is it nice to be getting sleep again! I think tomorrow I'm going to go buy Pokemon Platinum and also clean my keyboard; the thing's filthy and needed a cleaning last year or something.

Drawing: I haven't had the chance to draw in DAYS. I desperately need to start up again.

Writing: Catching up on tags and epic plot in DC!
