...Madness, I say!

So, yesterday I had my first class at GNOMON. :O The commute there actually wasn't bad at all; I got there way earlier than I anticipated. And that was with the 101 being reduced to two lanes at one point. Thank you, Sunday mornings! Parking wasn't much of an issue, either. The classrooms were hidden in the back of this creepy-looking warehouse-like complex (It's called the Television Center) but it looks much nicer on the inside. Lots of very sophisticated equipment, and the sample art they have hanging up on the walls is just preeeetty.

I felt a little weird talking to everyone else, 'cause they said they were all doing three or four or more classes, and I was just doing the one. I suddenly felt like I wouldn't get much out of the schooling 'cause I'm just doing the simplest intro classes. D: But...the monies! So much just for one class of one semester...and the Certificate Program looks tempting (90% hiring rate?! Yes, please!) but that's 2 years and $40,000+ of my life. :O

The first class went fine, although it was mostly him going over the basics of the controls. I really need to try and practice on my own (time to dust off the three-button tablet mouse...) because he was going through the process so fast I could barely keep up with what was happening. O_O;; Have to learn all the hotkeys, too. We're just covering modeling, and we're not even going to get into animation, which I can kinda understand. For our final project, we have to model something in Maya and make it look as good as possible. Organic-looking creatures or characters are discouraged against, which kinda sucks, since my imagination tends to fall short when it comes to vehicles and buildings. DX So now I need to think of something really cool I can model. Anyone have any ideas I can steal? And I'll probably show process steps here as I go...

Otherwise, life be going okay! I probably should be more worried about not having a job after October and not really looking for one now, but I'm not. :P I'm glad it's finally getting colder and more rainy.

gaelic_bohemian and corrielle went to AniMagic this weekend (I wish I could've gone!) and bought me this cute print with Sora, Kairi, Roxas and Namine on it yay! And Rei also found the complete set of 'Bone' at the bookstore, so ZOMG YAY, I love 'Bone' to death and can't wait to read all of it! Ooooh, and we might go to the San Diego Zoo on Saturday! I love the animals, and I need to bring my sketchbook and draw them...

Also, OMG VEXEN IS HOJO. And Lexaeus = Mace Windu?! Larxene = Asuka Langley? Marluxia = James Bond?! NEED COM IN 3D HERE NOW PLZ!

Drawing: Finished toning the next page of LG; it gets posted tonight! And then on to drawing and inking the next few pages...

Writing: The big fanfic is now completed, and you can read the whole thing right here! (There's links back to every chapter). I had waaaay too much fun writing it, and I'm so happy with how it came out.
