So yesterday I did a bit of a background exercise...wanted to see if I could do a background drawing as it's done in animation studios, where you must "ink" the entire thing in mechanical pencil, with all lines touching so that the colorist can just fill them in easily. Also have to make sure the lines are completely straight and clean. It's harder than it looks!

I think it turned out better than the first time I tried cleanup art, but there's still a bunch of mistakes. :P Plus, as lovely as my lightbox is, I think the surface is to uneven! Or maybe it's just me making excuses. I can't believe that people do this on a regular basis!

AHHH, I'm so excited for the Gargoyles con this weekend...and a bit nervous, too! They're actually having portfolio reviews, including one with OMG BOB KLINE, so I need to get ready for that! But otherwise, it's gonna be a lot of fun! *dance*

I went by the Conejo Elementary school again this morning, and we finally decided on an appropriate font for the mural with the rabbit running. Now I just need to look through my calendar to see when some good dates would be for me to come down and paint...the sketching needs to be done at night, though, since the projector won't work during the day. I've never drawn or painted anything this big before, so I hope I don't disappoint people. ;_; The principal of the school is SO passionate about his job...the school's on the poorer side, so it doesn't get much money, but he's worked extremely hard to make it a better campus and it shows. People with that kind of care and enthusiasm really amaze me.

Drawing: Finished that yesterday faster than I was anticipating! Otherwise, random things here and there. Still haven't started that art trade yet. :P

Writing: Haven't gotten back to Lost Worlds just yet...need to work out more of the overarching plot, which I'll probably work on soon.
