Phew! This weekend has been all kinds of crazy. The wankery and splooge over the whole sporking deal have exploded beyond my mortal imagination, but that's for a later day. On to happier things!

On Saturday I went to Little Tokyo with [livejournal.com profile] wyna_hiros, [livejournal.com profile] famira, [livejournal.com profile] saiamander and other dudes from my old high school to celebrate Wyna and Famira's birthday! Major happy birthday-age, you two...I now owe you some gift art! It was great getting to see old friends again, and especially visiting Little Tokyo. Except for the fact that it was freeeeezing outside. We wandered around Little Tokyo and joked about whatever, and we had shabu-shabu for dinner. Incredibly yummy!

It's also a dang good thing that I babysat on Friday night, because we also went to Kinokuniya and I once again spent way too much money. I bought some copic multiliners that I needed, Deathnote #4 (squeeage! I didn't even know it was out yet!), and the Abandoned, which is a fascinating read so far, especially considering Hurricane Katrina. (I did look around for the Chain of Memories manga, but alas, no luck.)

Also, I did some very bad things. I bought the Kingdom Hearts 2 soundtrack, and listenend through it all. (Am listening to it now, actually!) Okay, Sora singing "Under the Sea" in Atlantica = BEST THING EVAR. I don't even care if the Atlantica world sucks, I'm seriously going to be laughing my face off through that entire thing. I also love the Steamboat Willie music, it's so happy! ^^
And, I ALSO bought Kingdom Hearts 2 Ultimania. Then the plastic wrap was removed and I looked inside. BIG MISTAKE. I seriously spoiled myself completely rotten, but I don't even care because it gives me a canongasm! Squeeeee in a box! XD I can't wait even more for the 28th. *does a happy dance*

For more KH stuff, it's a small and silly fanart:

And in comics news, it was recently found out that one of the top 20 winners plagiarized art from a published manga. Ouuuch! I'll admit, I'm a little miffed that Wyna and I's entry got bumped for an entry that copied panels from another manga. But mostly I'm just curious to see how this whole thing will work out. I was going to cast my vote for People's Choice today after another quick read-through, but now I'm wondering if maybe I should hold off? I dunno. Either way, it's such a shame for everyone involved.

It's way too early for me to be this awake, and I'm going to crash and burn for it later. Between work and class I'm probably going to go pop in MST3K and work on those pitch pages, because I've been suffering from far too many distractions, dangit!

KH2 countdown: 15 days!

Operator status: Busy, because it's registration. Also, I was late because I had to spend time getting gas and mostly scraping all of the ICE off my car with a spatula. What in the hey is wrong with California weather?!

Drawing: Fanarts still gnawing on my brain. But I *am* going to work on those pitch pages, arrgh! Also, I've been assigned to do some concept art for a TV show pitch that the dude I babysit for is putting together. I feel slightly strange about that. I read through the sample script and character descriptions, and picked out a bunch of stuff that seemed just *wrong* with it. I seriously think I could write a better sample script than the one he gave me. There were character inconsistencies, and it seemed like he was trying to allude to too many things at once...Ancient Egypt as a metaphor for the Civil Rights movement, with occasional Biblical references mixed within? I dunno. I mean, the guy practically got me an internship last summer, and if he keeps promoing my stuff maybe it'll get me a job of some kind, and I've got to take whatever I can at this point. So I'm going to shut off my critic brain and just try and concentrate on making the concept art look good.

Writing: Spent most of the day working on that article for journalism. I think I'm happier with it than my previous one, thankfully. Otherwise? Fic-things I'd like to do, and the novel, same as usual.
