Or alternatively, the weekend where Lynx spent way too much money!
Holy crap, but we've been busy! It's a good kind of busy, though, and my exhaustion's mostly through wanting to recouperate. (Um...obviously?) And now, whether you care or not, I shall tell the tale:
Friday was probably the slowest day; I got some homework done, and
corrielle and I finished off FFX, which was great fun. However, Early Saturday I went to EB Games to buy a PS2 since
sir_snarksalot was taking back hers. I got one of the new thin ones, and DAYAM, but those things are tiny. You could play frisbee with them! I also preordered my copy of KH2, even if there is no official release date yet. *headsmack* Right after that we all headed over to
sir_snarksalot's house for major cleanage of the back room. The house was old (and so was the room we were cleaning), and we found all kinds of strange and nifty stuff in it! Some of the more interesting tidbits:
- Insurance policies from long-dead companies
- A kerosene lamp (hey, that was new and interesting to me!)
- A board game called "Acquire: High Adventure in High Finance"
- A bow-tieing device?
- A canister of highly illegal bug spray
- HUMAN TEETH o_O (actually, that part was pretty dang funny...)
With all of us working together, we were able to get it mostly cleared out within a matter of hours! Woot! After the cleaning spree we all went out to eat at this restaurant called The Elephant Bar that I'd never been to before, but the wait for Red Lobster was way too long. I'm really glad that we went to The Elephant Bar, though, 'cause
xanmuse and I split these pork baby back ribs and fries and cinnamon apples and they were SOOOOO GOOOOOOOD. And then we had this hugemongous cookie-ice cream dessert, and that just about did me in because it was so yummy.
And...and......SOREOS! XD XD
After that,
corrielle and
gaelic_bohemian went to a big Chinese New Year/Firefly/Serenity/LARPing party, although I was too tired to come along at that point. So I stayed behind at
sir_snarksalot's place and kinda half-participated in Trivial Pursuit, even though I totally suck at it. ;P I pretty much crashed on the couch after that.
Sunday was...Disneyland! I went there with
corrielle,
gaelic_bohemian,
estelofimladris and
scifichicx from the previous night's party, and we had a grand ol' time. I at first wasn't planning on going, but decided to come along at the last minute since I thought I could afford it. Plus, I realized that I could use the trip to my advantage and write an article on Disneyland for one of my future Feature Article Writing assignments, yay! So I did short interviews with about five different people while I was standing in line for different rides. I didn't get craploads info (those lines were moving FAST), but hopefully it'll be enough in the future.
We started off with Star Tours and got Fast Passes for Space Mountain (which didn't work until 6:00 that night, yikes) and then bounced on over to Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion. They were still doing the Nightmare-Before-Christmas version of the Haunted Mansion, which made me happy since I hadn't gotten to see it yet, and it was great fun. Somewhere thrown in there was Thunder Mountain, two trips on the Matterhorn (we did both sides!), another round on Pirates (naturally!) and then we had dinner at this restaurant by New Orleans where I got barbecue chicken and cornbread and more, and stole some strawberry shortcake. Wallet-raping prices be darned, Disneyland food is SOOOOO GOOOOOD. (Isn't this the second time I used that phrase?...) And then we hit Space Mountain, which is freckin' awesome since it's been updated, and ended with some Fantasyland darkrides that I hadn't done in forever.
Mixed in all of this was character roleplay, fandom squeeage and just general mayhem. XD Also, we stopped at the arcade that night and did some DDRing. I finished that off by doing 'Captain Jack' on standard without any kind of proper warm-up, which was a VERY STUPID IDEA considering I nearly puked, and even now I feel like I ruptured a lung. T_T Also, we saw the White Witch from Narnia, who was *totally* in character and was therefore freaky-scary. o_O Although by the time the sun set it was FRICKIN' FREEZING COLD and I could barely think straight. Oh yeah, it is January, isn't it? *looks strangely at Southern California weather*
By the time we got home I was completely exhausted...except then I had to get up a mere five hours later at 6:00 to GO TO WORK at 7:30 on a holiday. T_T ARRGH. *kicks work* At least there's no class today. And I really need to get a bunch of homework done when I get home, but maybe I'll take a nap first. *passes out all over keyboard*
Operator status: Leave me alone and let me SLEEEEEEEP
Narnia puppet show completion status: 2% Got a teensy bit more written on the script while in the car. May write some more today? Or at least tomorrow...
Drawing: Bunches of little sketches for the school assignment I need to finish today, which will hopefully take me less time than I'm thinking it will. Still need to finish drawing/coloring all those other things on my list, too.
Writing: Ugh, still need to write that article due on Thursday. I think I'll do a quick interview with my brother; that should provide plenty for a measley 500 words. (Man, 500 words seems so much longer when it's for school...) And also, the Narnia puppet show script.
