Whelp, my house didn't burn down last night, yay. Although when I stepped outside this morning it smelled like a fireplace, and there was a sprinkle of ash all over my car. Blehs. XP

Dang, everyone's out to get me. And what the hell is a "brown lemon-flavored gummy worm?"...

Operator status: Busy, and everyone wants to know whether or not school is closed today. HA! Considering this is the same school that stayed open when all but ONE frelling road into Malibu was closed during severe mudslides, it's highly unlikely. "Who cares if you got evacuated at three in the morning...damned if WE'RE going to lose any money over it!"

Drawing: Have now completed seven pages' worth of toning. Fwee! ^^ With luck, I can get another done tonight. Also, I need to still do some work on the redesign of the main character for the short comic.

Writing: Got done 27 and a half pages of my play. If I can manage to stay awake long enough, I should be able to finish the required 30, and I'll be way ahead of schedule.

It's hot as hell here, and there's still ash raining down. I could see flames over the hills today for a brief period of time, but I think they're gone now. It was really weird driving home...the sky was completely brown, and the sun was this bright neon red color. It's hard to breathe when I step outside.

You know those stupid questions where someone asks you "If you could only grab one thing from your house, what would you save?..." That's sort of me at the moment. We're not even worrying about evacuating (we're still in the safe zone; we're not even on the voluntary evacuation list) but it never hurts to be prepared. I discovered that what I want to lose least of all is my artwork...my sketches, my comics, all of that stuff that's just irreplacable. However, how do you save it when your artwork's on a G5 computer that weighs more than you do? I'm trying to back up my files, but it takes awhile to burn dozens of gigs worth of stuff (which is what I have.)

Anyways, we're going to Santa Monica now to see 'Serenity.' Hopefully we'll be able to go back home afterwards.
