Another year, another series of classes
So! School started this past Monday, and I've had a chance to attend all of my classes at least once. Compared to previous years, this one should be a little easier, which seems to happen on senior years, as it is. If I'm correct (which I really hope) then I'll only have three classes and only be a half-time student, which means 1) no convo HOORAY, and 2) more time to work on art-related activities! Maybe I can fit in a life-drawing class during then or the following summer, which would be exceedingly helpful. But this semester I do have a full-time roster:

American People and Politics
This class'll be a breeze. It's a Freshmen lecture hall class, and it's basically all reading, note-taking and a few tests here and there. I mean, the class is too big for it to be really challenging, so I'll probably only have to half-pay attention. It's just a GE requirement that I missed during my underclassmen years, so I'm not worried about it. (We don't even have class the next two days, go figure...)
What's *really* funny is that my brother's also in that class! XD He's starting as a Freshmen this year, and is all bright-eyed and busy-tailed about what he can do. I went and visited his dorm, which was surprisingly clean (so far!) It'll be interesting seeing how he handles college differently with dorm life, since I essentially got through it without getting involved in the dorms. ;) He's majoring in technical theatre and design, so he'll be waaaaay busy.

Genre Study: Science Fiction and Fantasy
Yay! Since I missed the Seminar in Writing SF/F, I was happy to get this class. It's taught by Dr. Collings, who also did my poetry class last semester. The man is adorable, and yet a little eccentric. Pretty much ALL of our books are either by Stephen King and Orson Scott Card...because he's been huge fans of them for years and is, like, good friends with Orson Scott Card or something. o_O It would've been nice to have an anthology with a bunch of different authors, but I think my roomies have some at home I can borrow. In any case, as much as I like the SF/F genre, I haven't really READ any of it, so this is all new material for me. All of the books look like I'll actually ENJOY reading them, unlike Great Books, where we had to slog through stuff like Rousseau the egomaniac. *eyeroll*

Great American Writers: Edgar Allan Poe
Another literature class that I'm happy I got! The teacher seems slightly more boring, but I've always been fascinated with Poe's stuff, so getting to read it all should be fun. I've even enjoyed reading the biographies so far, and I'm usually not a fan of biographies. I guess the subject matter does make a difference. ;) Anyways, this class looks like it has about the same amount of work as the SF/F one.

Seminar in Writing: the Stage Play
Yet another night class with Shamas in the Comm building! Actually, a lot of the people who were in my Screenwriting class were in this one as well, so it should be a good crowd. I'm a little nervous about this one, since playwriting is totally Shamas's THING, whereas it's not so much mine. I originally wanted to write a DDR musical (how cool would that be? XD) but realized that didn't work. So I was thinking of writing something (ironically enough) inspired by those crazy Harmonians...fan communities on the internet and how out-of-control they can get. The REALLY hard part is portraying the internet effectively on stage. o_O *gulp* Hopefully I'll be able to manage okay...at least a full stage play isn't as long as a full screenplay.

So mostly, it looks like it'll be a lot of reading this semester, unlike last semester when I had two classes that just involved poking around on the computer. Although the lack of Great Books does help. *SO* glad I'm done with that class...

And now, some yays and boos:
- KHU is back up, with even better scans of extreme cuteness!Sora in Steamboat Willie world! Yay! XD
- My site is still down, and I have no clue what's wrong with it. Boo.
- October is approaching fast, which means a bunch of OEL manga I want to get it coming out! Yay!
- Tim Beedle still hasn't e-mailed me back on the comic thingy. Boo. T_T

Operator status: It's been very busy nonstop since NSO, and it continues to be so no matter what the time of day. There was also this psychopath who wouldn't leave the other operator alone yesterday. It's really starting to wear me out, and it annoys me that I can't get reading done as efficiently. (Although I guess I shouldn't be surprised...)

Drawing: Finished b-day gift art, need to to start coloring another. Have also been doing random ink and pencil sketches of different...stuffes. XD I might try drawing stuff from some of the stories we read in SF/F, it's fun. No big projects jumping on me yet...

Writing: Not much, as it were.
