Although being there sure did make it clear to me how much the place has changed since I went to high school. I think I recognized maybe two or three of my teachers? All the rest were new. And they'd planted new stuff in the ampitheater area and painted over the paintings on the art room.
So because of gradumatation stuff, I was struck with a bit of nostalgia. I went digging through some boxes and closets and pulled out a few samples of drawings I did in grade school, middle school, some high school and a little after. So bit of a time capsule thing there. You can see a few of my terrible scribbles from when I was a wee young'un!

When I was WAY little a wrote a story about a sparrow living in Disneyland. Then I sent it to Disney. Somehow I feel less bold now than as an eight-year-old. 8|

I had a theme of drawing when I was little. That theme was basically DRAGONS DRAGONS DRAGONS DRAGONS HOLY CRAP IT'S DRAGONS.
...I don't have the foggiest idea how to pronounce that name.

You guys, it's dinosaurs playing basketball.
This may well be the single greatest achievement of my artistic career.

My first long-running comic was called "Wilcox and Friends." It was about a dog named Wilcox, and all his friends. Usually they would do silly things like this, and then every once in awhile they would suddenly end up in LIFE-THREATENING PERIL.

MEANWHILE A BLACK DRAGON ATTACKS A RED DRAGON AND A GUY WITH NO BUTT WITH THE POWER OF RAINBOWS
Actually this was an illustrated scene from my big middle school fantasy epic. The theme of this epic was DRAGONS DRAGONS DRAGONS DRAGONS ARE PWNING EVERYONE HOLY CRAP DRAGONS

This is a comic page from FUZZBALL COMICS. This was the story of a superhero spider and his sidekick, Big Bear. I dare to say one of my favorite comics, if for no other reason than it had stuff like this in it. I wish my writing nowadays was this brilliant, man.

Also while I was in middle school I illustrated the entirety of Brian Jacques' Redwall as a comic.
...Apparently this is what I did before video games and the internet. :|a

CHECK IT OUT IT'S THE GUY FROM MY DA ICON. Actually his name is Obedience, and he is from another comic idea that I'd actually like to do something with someday, with better resources. I think I would be perfectly happy with my life if all my future projects just involved strange-looking creatures duking it out.

From waaay to the end of high school/start of college. From another comic idea that never quite got anywhere but that I still like.

And just to round it out, I doodled this on the back of the graduation program today while sitting in the sun. Almost 25, and it's still DRAGONS DRAGONS DRAGONS DRAGONS LOOK GUYS IT'S DRAGONS.
Hmm, mom, dad and brother are off to Mexico tomorrow. At least Kel will be over! o/
