OBJECTIONS belong in CAPSLOCK
So my Character Skinning class was cancelled today! (We'll have to make it up later, but oh well) So that means no school. ...So I basically spent the rest of the day finishing the last case of PW3. 8D

- HOLY CRAP, CAN WE SAY EPIC. I'm trying to decide if it was more or less epic than the bonus case of the first game, with Ema and Gant and all. (The DL-6 case was epic in its own character development way.) But this was pretty friggin' intense epic. I will try to be in vague order...
- Playing as Edgeworth was hella fun, if for no other reason that seeing him play defense attorney and square off against Franziska. XD Their snarking off of each other was terrific. Also, him having to deal with "Psycholocks," LOL.
- Okay yeah, I was glad to see Phoenix back in action so fast and on the scene. But...come on, the guy fell off of a burning bridge, into a freezing cold river with raging rapids in the middle of winter that almost no bodies are recovered from when he didn't already like heights AND THE WORST HE CAME OUT WITH WAS A FEVER. And then Franziska was still whipping his ass when he was sick, lol Dude's got more magic powers than just that magatama, I think.
- Okay, I feel bad about ragging on Iris all the time when really it was her evil twin the whole time. Soap opera much?! Although it's also terribly ironic. As I was talking with GG, and going, "Huh, unless maybe this isn't Dahlia and she has an evil twin. Although I guess in this case Iris would be the good twin." ...AND THEN IT ENDED UP BEING TOTALLY TRUE. WTF, UNIVERSE.
- Okay, Morgan Fey. Using her own daughter to basically kill off Pearl's best friend and frame her other daughter because she wanted power and fame? NOT. COOL. Extremely uncool, sir!
- Speaking of, HOLY CRAP, CAN WE JUST PUT PEARL AND MAYA THROUGH MORE CRAP OR WHAT. It's not like they had to go through enough with Pearl ALMOST killing her best friend WHEN SHE'S EIGHT YEARS OLD and Maya being accused of murder YET AGAIN and of HER OWN MOTHER. Harry wants his capslock of rage back now. Geez, the friggin' Fey family goes through so much crap. Which I guess just goes to show how totally awesome Maya, Pearl (and Mia!) are because they could still be their cute, hopeful selves even after having their own family members try to do them in. Go them for being made of kickass!
- (Warning, serious capslock-ness approaching) Okay so. Yeah. This whole entire sequence:

Phoenix: This witness is not really Iris! It's really...HER DEAD EVIL TWIN WHO TRIED TO POISON ME!
Dahlia: BWAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA. I AM EVIL, AND I KILLED MAYA, BECAUSE MIA GOT ME EXECUTED. SUCKERRRR.
Phoenix: IMPOSSIBLE
Dahlia: O RLY
Phoenix: Because you are BEING CHANNELED BY MAYA RIGHT NOW
Dahlia: WTFFFFFFFFFFFFF
Mia: *pops into Pearl's body* SUCK IT, BITCH
Godot: Ohgodwhut *downs gallon of coffee*
Dahlia: I STILL RAWK BECAUSE I AM EVIL
Mia: ACTUALLY NO I HAVE STILL PWNED YOU
Mia: I'M EVEN DEAD AND I PWNED YOU. THAT'S HOW MUCH YOU SUCK.
Dahlia: WTFFFF
Phoenix: And tonight, YOU DINE IN HELL. *magic point* THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOOOOOU
Dahlia: NUUUUU *and then TURNS INTO EVIL GLOWING EYE SPIRIT DEMON THING OF DOOM*
Maya: *faint*
Godot: NEEDS MOAR COFFEE.
Edgeworth: *popcorn*

...Yeah, that whole part kinda had me screaming online and partially in real life because of the epic and the madness and the WTF. That was kind of made of crazy.
- Phoenix and Mia's DOUBLE POINTING POWAAAAR was pretty badass.
- OH, GODOT. Such sadness. As soon as Maya said that she "saw a man" from behind her mother/spirit-channeled Dahlia, I knew it was going to be Godot and that he was the real murderer. And that just sucked for everyone, even if it did mean Maya and Pearl were in the clear. (It thankfully was not insanely difficult to prove.)
- Godot cries TEARS OF BLOOD. HARDCOOOORE.
- I'm glad that Godot finally shaped up and realized that he'd done wrong with targeting Phoenix all this time for stuff Dahlia did. I was pretty pissed at him that he put Maya on the spot after she'd just been through such terrible stuff. But at least he was willing to stop being so stubborn and admit everything. Very tragic character. D:
- ...I liked his theme music, though. XD; And it was just AWW when he finally stopped using that insulting nickname for Phoenix and shared with him his Greatest Cup of Coffee, Evar.
- HOORAY HOORAY, HAPPY ENDING! I loves me my happy endings, even if this one was rather bittersweet. (I suppose a lot of them are.) Phoenix, Maya and Pearl make such a cute makeshift family. And I love that Phoenix's biggest prosecutor rivals (Edgeworth and Franziska) end up becoming his buds and they all have terrible-tasting French dinner together. XD

Aaaaand since this was the third game I've finally finished, my thoughts on the series as a whole:

- I doooon't think I'm going to be playing the fourth game. :/ I like this ending and the way everything seemed to be wrapped up and tied together. Sorry, Apollo, I'm sure you're a totally cool guy with your own fun stories. But I'm just not interested enough to go spend my money on another game. This series has already chomped a good portion of my time!
- I'm not sure which of the three I liked best. It's probably a tie between the first game and T&T. The first was awesome just because we got to meet everyone, we got Edgeworth's big life-changing case, and then the bonus case of NEVER-ENDING LENGTH AND HARDCORENESS. But in T&T, we got to play as Phoenix, Mia AND Edgeworth, which was pretty badass. And epic final case is epic. JfA was okay, I guess, but the first and third cases were kinda meh. (At least compared to the last one with Maya's kidnapping, which was intense.) Worth one play through, naturally.
- I was not expecting this series to be so funny, and so full of WACKINESS. You'd think, with a video game series with the protagonist as a defense attorney and gameplay revolving around investigating and being in a courtroom, it'd be something like 'Law and Order' with HARDCORE FACTS ONLY PLZ and straightforward courtroom drama. But a lot of the stuff that happened was just so friggin' improbable and crazy that it didn't really fit with the "courtroom drama" genre at all. I mean come on, the protagonist carries a magical talisman that allows him to see peoples' secrets, and his dead boss occasionally shows up in the body of her sister to offer helpful advice. It just can't be taken seriously. XD
- That said, what made this series fun was definitely the characters. It's basically Phoenix (and Edgeworth, to a lesser extent) playing the straight man to a whole cast of crazies, and the results are hilarious and fun. It's really hard not to love (or love-to-hate, in the case of Dahlia) pretty much everyone who shows up. The localization for these games was a good as it was for the KH series...I never really felt like I was seeing characters from a culture not my own, even with all the Japanese words thrown around in relation to the spirit channeling dojos. And enjoyable characters can make most any series worthwhile.
- The bottom line: I ENJOYED IT IMMENSELY. I can see why the series has a big following. And now I can understand my flist's references to the canon, yay! Would recommend to anyone with a DS and some spare time. ♥

Also, THANKS TO THE DUDES ON IM WHO LISTENED TO ME CAPSLOCK. XD And even now I can't help but capslock! Go figure.

P.S. That one secret in FS the other day? DAAAAAMN, now I want Phoenix as a playable fighter the way I'm dying for Sora to be a playable fighter! I mean come on, defense attorney goes up against Mario/Link/Kirby/etc.? It'd be BADASS. Maybe he could be an assist trophy. I wish it would happen. :P
