Because I'm too lazy to actually work on anything right now
...And hey, I've been productive most of the week. Lots of getting up early and such. Argh!
So, first week back at school is officially over. It remains to be seen whether or not this semester will be backbreaking or a breeze, but thusfar it seems manageable. Obviously, some classes will be more enjoyable than others. And now, a quick rundown:
Feature Article Writing I dunno what it is, but I've never had any interest in journalism. It's not like the writing process for press and fiction are all *that* far removed, I just really don't like writing for a paper or magazine. Maybe I just don't like writing to inform? Who knows. But at least this class looks to be easier (ironically) than the Intro to Journalism class, mostly because I think Dr. Jordan is psycho. And I don't think there'll be as much pressure as in the previous class for OMGPERFECTION. Now I just need ideas...anyone know of a good idea for a slice-of-life article due next week? -_-;
Multimedia Production and Authoring This should be interesting. We should eventually be learning a bit of PHP language and basic programming, which would be *really* helpful to learn. That is, assuming that I don't completely rip my hair out trying to learn it, considering even scathingly basic Flash scripting language drove me into near insanity. I know that the more computer programming I learn the better off I'll be; it just takes so much time and effort for me to get it down, and I'm easily frustrated by it. That, and the professor is a family friend I've known since I was, like, seven years old. Okay!
Intro to Pyschology Buh, my last GE class, and it's a lecture hall class full of freshmen. Hopefully half of them will stop showing up as the semester goes on, although I wish my brother was taking that class so I could hang out with him and laugh at weird stuff on his laptop. The class should be at least slightly interesting, though, and it certainly won't be difficult. I just wish it was scheduled at a different time. :P
Seminar in Writing the Novel This class is probably gonna be the most fun. Practically all the other cool people from my other writing classes (Screenwriting, Playwriting, etc.) are in it, and the prof. seems enthusiastic. I've got about three ideas that I could run with for our main project (all of which, ironically, sprang from comic book ideas...) Actually, I think it'd be good to develop one of the comic ideas as a novel, just because it would give me the chance to develop and flesh out the story without having to spend the extra time on the drawings. Although admittedly, some of those ideas would work better *with* pictures than without.
And sprinkled throughout class is work, which goes on as always, although now I'll have to get used to people actually *calling* me again. Tuesdays are gonna completely suck, as I have a standard 9-5 work day, a brief break for dinner, and THEN the Psychology class, which goes from 6-9. Just doing it once this last week I was completely exhausted by the time I got home. XP However, on the flipside, I have Fridays completely off! Yaaay! (Although every other Saturday night will be a midnight shift, boo.)
And woah, just realized that RSOM 6 ends tomorrow. Craziness! Now I want to see the top 20 entries on the internets already... *impatient*
( And woah some art from dA )
Narnia puppet show completion status: 1% Basically, there is currently MORE THAN NOTHING. Yay!
Drawing: Lots! I finished toning all of the pages for the short comic, and sent them away for approval today! *hopes that there are not too many things that require edit-age* Also, I'm drawing lots of little sketchy pictures of a wolf that has a guard rabbit for a class assignment. Hee. And also also, I need to start coloring that countdown picture and then start that art trade picture.
Writing: I *started* work on the Narnia script, but didn't get very far. Will hopefully do more later. Also, I need to write that dang article for Feature Article Writing, except I have no solid ideas. Guhhhh.
