OMG...from the post on Fandom_Wank, deu_sex_machina got this troll going completely psycho over that godawful Harry-Potter-is-a-wereleopard fanfic from a year back! I thought people wanked over our sporks, but no, this troll's completely batshit. I adore deu_sex_machina's sporks, so this has me DYING OF ROFFLES.

Why is it that creepily disturbing fanfics get the most creepily frecking insane people defending them so vehemently? Or...did I just answer my own question?

This reminds me: I need to go back and reread the Harry Potter series again. I've only read each one once, and it'd be nice to get a bit of a refresher. That book that ghettopeach on essays about HP and its fandom is really interesting (and funny!) so far.

Also, everyone needs to go buy and read 'Go With Grace,' because it is AMAZING. It was seriously in my dreams last night. And the art is beautiful!

Also also, I am totally going to get a root beer float today. Yum!

POTC 2 puppet show completion status: 25% Guh, still haven't started puppets yet! I fully intend to today or tomorrow, though!

Operator status: Had to switch comps for a virus scan that didn't work, or something.

Drawing: Started on the commission! I should finish the pencils today. I think I'm going to try and color it digitally instead of traditionally, because there's lots of small details and I don't trust myself enough to not screw up on subtle skin tones and all that. o_O Hopefully can finish inking that fifth Lunargyros page today, too.

Writing: Finished that one stand-alone scene, and I'm getting in the mood to work on Lost Worlds again! Woot!

I mean, I've seen all sorts of things from weregerbils to weredeer to elven weredwarves (and by "seen" I mean written), but good old Harry being a wereleopard is just a bit much to swallow.

Yes. Not only is he a wereleopard, EVERYONE is a wereleopard. And Lucius is "Papa Kitty." And there's lots and lots of pointless weresex.

And the sporkers are being accused of NAZISM and CENSORSHIP and ASSHATERY and ETC. for mocking and criticizing it. Truly, the internet is a strange place.

Yeah, I was reading a bit of that on deu_sex_machina's blog. I think it's been fairly well-known since the old Usenet days that most people who argue about issues on the internet are (or can't be distinguished from) fanatical teenagers with infinite time to burn--just makes me wonder, hey, how many people (and I don't just mean badfic wingnuts) actually realize that censorship isn't saying, hey, it was kind of dumb of you to write that--it's actually, physically preventing them from writing it, as in agents of the government breaking into your house or workplace and forcibly confiscating your means of production. Comparisons to Nazis don't communicate anything other than "Hey, look at me, I'm really pissed at you", so you kind of have to filter that out as noise.
