Awooo

Before I forget again: new Lunargyros page went up on Tuesday.

Last night when I was coming back from work I saw two coyotes climbing down the hills really close to the TAC...they were only about 20 feet away from me. Deer are extremely common on campus grounds, but seeing coyotes is a lot more rare, especially more than one (they're solitary animals) and especially close to the more crowded areas. I wonder what's going on up in the hills to make them venture this close to people. o_o

Is it sad that the first thing I thought when seeing them was "Oh coyotes are really rare; I better throw a Pokeball!"

Drawing: Fanarty thing, some more paintings

I saw a couple wolves on my way to school once, in the woods on the side of the highway. There was only about two or three, so they must've gotten lost. D:

Oh wow, I've never seen wild wolves. :O The biggest we have here are mountain lions, but they're extremely human-shy so I've never seen one myself.

Yeah, I was pretty surprised to see them myself, especially on the side of a highway like that. It looked like they were sniffing around for something, but the bus moved on before I could find out. Pups, maybe?

Maybe pups! :O Or could just be sniffing for trash...even animals like wolves will scavenge if pickings are slim. :O

The most I've seen on my campus is rabbits and a stray fox or two where there aren't many people. I wonder what's making your coyotes come down from the hills...

That's funny, I've actually never seen any wild rabbits or coyotes. XD We do have wild possums and raccoons, but those are a lot less pleasant...I'd rather have rabbits than raccoons any day.

Er...FOXES, that should say.

[identity profile] rapidfix.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't SEEN any raccoons, but I'm pretty sure they rummage through the garbage after dark. :U Probably better that I never see them. Nasty little things...

[identity profile] lynxgriffin.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
That is when they come out the most often; when I've seen them, it's been at night. And they ARE nasty little things...I accidentally came up on one on a trash can one night, and it hissed at me in this throaty voice that said loud and clear I AM GOING TO DISEMBOWEL YOU AND KILL YOUR FAMILY EEEEEEE
