HEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAALP

My computer has bad bad juju right now. D8

Basically, the thing won't turn on. When I first started it up this morning, it froze on the loading screen (little spinning wheel screen), so I did my usual of switching off the power and turning it back on again after a wait.

Except now it won't boot up at all. It sounds like the fans get going, but there's no startup noise. The power light flashes when I turn it on, but that's it.

I know that the outlets it's plugged into are fine. I tried troubleshooting, and it only got me as far as removing the back cover and fan and not noticing any lights or startup noises coming on when I tried it again. Is anyone out there enough of a mac genius to know what the problem is or how to fix it? Otherwise I'll be lugging this two-ton thing over to the nearest mac store in the hopes that SOMEONE will know how to fix it.

PLEASE HALP F-LIST D8

Maybe the harddrive or something? Mine was wigging out when my harddrive failed. It'd start up and then making a power down sound.

That's a bad system board. Gotta take it to the mac store. :(

Could be the power supply too, I suppose, though usually the fan doesn't turn when the power supply is bad. Either way, it's a hardware replacement issue.

Ohh crap. D: Well, I'm glad I went ahead and made an appointment at the nearest Mac store today.

I guess the next important question is: if it's either the power supply or the system board, is it still possible to save the stuff on my computer? I had some stuff backed up but not a lot of my most recent stuff. D8

There's no way to be sure until they test it, but usually when the hard drive is bad, the machine boots up with a message saying something to the effect of "Hey, you should repair me," rather than doing nothing. Once in a while a bad power supply will fry everything inside, but it's not the norm.

Okay. D: I'll bring along my external drive and really really really hope that it's not the case where everything it fried.

Hit it a couple times D:

It's made of steel, I don't know if hitting it will hurt it at all. 8|

Threaten to set it on fire, then. That'll show it who's the boss
