I bombard you first with a new Lunargyros page! (Slightly late, because I apparently can't date things properly. D:)

OOOOOOOOOOMG. So it looks like the platforms for the new KH games have been announced (from 0kingdom_hearts):

- Kingdom Hearts III [temporary title] (PlayStation 3)
- Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories 2 (Nintendo DS)
- Kingdom Hearts 0 (PSP)

My (incoherent) thoughts:
- Why is nothing on the Wii? *cryyyyyy* I wanted to go swinging the Keyblade around with the Wiimote! ;_;
- Whelp, looks like I'll be getting a PS3 after all. But at least by the time the game is released, the price of it should be down A whole ten dollars, OMG!. And hey, I can get FFXIII and some new DDR games for it, too.
- ADJkasdjalksdjls! One on the DS AND one on the PSP?! EEEEEEEEK! I want to play both, if I can! But I have neither PSP nor DS, what do I do?! I didn't really want to buy a PSP...maybe I can borrow that, or the DS? But who owns those?! *chews on nails* I MUST NEEDS FIND A WAY TO HAVE THESE HANDHELDS, IF NOT TEMPORARILY.
- I was hoping this was not the case, but if one of the games (CoM 2?) is a Roxas-focused or Org-focused game, I'm going to die. But I'd probably play the game/watch the cutscenes anyway...I'd just have to shut myself off of fandom or something, because I don't know if I can handle the AkuRoku crazies shrieking over a new game. MRRRRGH. I WANT GAME. I JUST DON'T WANT FANDOM. XO
- NEEDS MOAR MICKEY. I want to play as Mickey, dammit!
- Where the hey do Ven, Aqua and Terra come into these? Are they in KH0?

let's get the sane bits of the fandom to pool their money and buy a nuclear bunker in the mojave desert. We can fanspazz and squee over the games without worrying about the "OMGZ AKUROKU NEED MOAR BUTTSECKS" or the "EEEEE NEW CHARACTERS TO WRITE BAD HIGH SCHOOL AUs ABOUT TEEHEE" And in a year, when the initial spazzfest has died, we can come out and rejoin society with our sanity intact.

Also putting up a giant "word" sign on Wii Kingdom Hearts. C'mon, you could even make little Keyblade Wiimotes and swing it around and clobber small animals your siblings/cousins/other family members Heartless with it!

This sounds like a most excellent plan. I already don't watch most of the major KH comms on LJ (aside KHFFR) but knowing fandom, that doesn't mean I'll be able to necessarily avoid the insanity. D: I WANT TO ENJOY MY GAMES WITHOUT FANDOM INTERFERENCE, DANGIT!

Although I actually predict that, even if there is a new Org-centered game, a new popular pairing is going to rise to the forefront and become the new "it" pairing, while AkuRoku is going to decline. It may be something that's already rather popular (like Xemnas/Saix or Demyx/Zexion) or it may be something totally new. But since that happened with Sora/Riku, I wouldn't be at all surprised if it happened again with AkuRoku.

The day AkuRoku falls out of fandom grace is the day I'll dance through the halls of my dormitory with joy. No more carpetbombing of AkuRoku on the DA front page! No more shitty akuroku high school AUs clogging the pipes of fanfiction.net!

Of course, it'll just be supplanted by something else, but you have filled me with hope of a brighter akuroku-less future.

Who knows, maybe Nomura and Disney will get over themselves and have some SoKai smooching. I can handle SoKai badfic way better than AkuRoku.

I would be dancing as well! Not necessarily for the fact that it'd be more crappy AUs and spamming of junk on the dA front page, but just because it'd be something OTHER than AkuRoku. If we must have crap, can't we at least have an interesting variety of crap?

A part of me would be a leetle disappointed if they went for a SoKai smooch, because then it'd be like they were moving away from the central theme of the series (friendship conquers all; power of caring for others, etc.) just for the sake of sticking in a romance.
But then that part's squashed by the part of me that would flip with shipper glee, and point and laugh at the rest of the fandom. XD

It'd be better if it evolved into "best friends in love" than stapling a romance onto that central theme. I see Sora as loving everyone equally, but having a special place in his heart for Kairi. I don't think that friendship and romance are mutually exclusive, really.

If they can figure out a way to make Riku not third-wheel-y, it'd be perfect. I don't ship the OT3 as hard as some of the others in the fandom, but I know that Sora and Kairi would always accept and keep Riku in their circle.

But I doubt I'd be ignoring that, because I'd be hopping up and down and flailing and waking up my neighbors by screeching. And yes, being able to go "haha, CANON, BITCHES!" would make me happy as a lark.

I have confidence that if Square did decide to go ahead with SoKai, they could evolve it from the friendship theme into "something more" theme. But yes, as long as they don't make Riku third-wheel-y! It wouldn't be right of Sora and Kairi at all to start excluding/ignoring him, and their friendship is one of my favorite bits of the series.
