Part of that bothers me, but then I have to stop and think...shouldn't I try and emphasize my strengths instead of bemoaning that I can't do what others are obviously better at? So what if I draw stories cartoony, fantastical, humorous and kiddish? I may as well do it with pride. ;P
Holy cow, you have no idea--I go through the same thing! Hitting myself in the head for what people do that I know I can't, and then convincing myself that there must be SOMETHING that makes me unique that's good enough in its own right.
I'm not into pure fantasy, especially when it has to do with already-established elements like elves and stuff. Well, everything's good if it has a good story. And you're a good storyteller! But I'll tell you what: slice-of-life with some element of the fantastic is where it's at. Biker Jesus. That's what this world needs. I LOVE that stuff. Pursue it like a mad dog and forget about MBQ!
