Today I finally hunkered down and finished all of Reverse/Rebirth! 8D So OMG, YAY YAY YAAAAY. I guess since I haven't babbled since I fought Marluxia, I'll have to sum up Reverse/Rebirth a little more succintly...


- Beat the rest of Sora's game! Okay wow, DID NOT SEE A THIRD FORM FOR MARLUXIA COMING THERE. That was freaky and slightly disturbing, especially when he WHIPPED OUT SUPER-FAST SLEIGHTS FROM NOWHERE. I still managed to beat him on the first try, tho, mostly because I threw 0s at him every time he yanked out a sleight. I have no clue what that countdown move did or how to beat it...everytime it appeared, I chucked cards at it until it went away. D:
- Fffff Namine is just. So adorable everywhere. And you could totally tell in her face that a small part of her wished for Sora to remember her instead of Kairi, but she knew it had to be the other way. ;~;
- EXTRA SCENES DURING THE CREDITS WOO
- And then REVERSE/REBIRTH YAY. Okay, pretty much every scene with Riku and Mickey reduced me to a puddle of happy. Their friendship is my absolute favorite part of CoM, and I think one of the best parts of the entire game series. Just that combination of Square DARK ANGST and Mickey HAPPY FRIENDSHIP worked so incredibly well...how Mickey actually learned from Riku that darkness wasn't 100% bad, and was willing to learn more, and how Riku learned there is an option besides self-destruction, and that it's okay to rely on your friends. There's just this teacher/student and best friends dynamic at the same time and ffffffff I love it. (I hope my calendar comes in the mail soon; I love that it's Mickey and Riku for my birthday month!)
- I kinda ended up loling at Ansem's replacement voice. He sounded a little...overdone? XD; Goofy at times, at least with how I remember Ansem. I really hope they get someone awesome and creepy for Baldsem for BBS.
- Riku, your pre-set deck SUCKS in most worlds. Whut the hell. The only place it was really good was in Halloween Town; even in Castle Oblivion it sucked because NEOSHADOWS ALWAYS USE 8 CARDS. So basically in most every world I abused the heck out of Holy Blast and Inverse Blast. Like...every time a Mickey card appeared, pretty much XD;
- That said, card duels were a pretty sweet addition to Riku's arsenal of attacks! They didn't always work, but I could almost always get them to work against bosses, and HOLYCOW those were useful against bosses! Got a few of those in a row and you could take out multiple health bars for a boss, easily.
- Speaking of, I didn't have that much trouble with the bosses, even the bosses at the end! I beat Zexion, Repliku and Ansem all on my first try. Although Zexion had this weird move where he was sucking up all of Riku's cards?! WTF was that about.
- Oh man, Zex's death scene. Axel really is a bastard when he wants to be. XD
- Wow, the person they got to replace Kairi wasn't half bad at all. Maybe it's because she didn't have that many lines and I didn't have much chance to notice a change, but she sounded all right. I still hope they get Hayden back for KH3, but considering her being busy with Heroes, that might be difficult.
- Sob, I miss you, Christopher Lee. ;_;
- OMG MY THEORIES ABOUT THE ORG COATS WERE RIGHT. XDDD I'm sooo glad they added that scene in there to explain why Riku and Mickey were wearing the Org cloaks as they were leaving! Thank you, Square!
- Okay so. The extra scenes when the credits were rolling! Roxas with the Twilight Town gang and Axel was cute and all. But ffffff, I REALLY liked seeing that bit where Riku and Mickey are arriving in Hollow Bastion and Riku's still struggling with the darkness and Mickey's all worried but sticking right by him. And then Riku showing up at Sora's sleeping pod when he's older and Ansemified...SOOOB. Aaaah I love little fill-in scenes like that. I've always wanted to write some fic of Mickey and Riku's travels during that missing year.
- GAME DONE NOW. I think I clocked about 60 hours total into Sora and Riku's stories combined...but I think a lot of that is because I would leave the game on pause for a long time to internet/RP. XD I have a chronic multitasking problem
- ...Now just gotta wait around for BBS and Over 9000 Days. COME SOONER, NEW GAMES. ;_; And I need to do a bit more artses.
